And Yuuji is not that great. Common route is great PRECISELY because there is nothing noteworthy happening, it is just a cheerful bunch of text. As for AH, you cannot be more wrong. Yuuji is, in fact, a bastard. A magnificent bastard. Muv-Luv Extra is absolutely fine. how just HOW And you can absolutely go straight to Alternative with barley any loss. Just like playing Mass Effect 1 will give you a better experience than jumping straight into 2, but you can go straight to 2 and have great experience that way. Most media is like that nowadays, you might even be able to jump into whatever season's ongoing of Game of Thrones and have a good experience. Well maybe not Game of Thrones, but you get my point. Coμ is a highly overrated game with a bunch of uninteresting fights and it's waaaay too long. Fate/Stay Night was quite boring and i never finished it. Katawa Shoujo does a lot of things better than any other visual novel. Muv-Luv Extra is absolutely fine. And you can absolutely go straight to Alternative with barley any loss. I didn't hate the common route, but I didn't like it. Extra does at least not feel that long and I'm sure as hell not complaining if there's some H-scenes. Rewrite is a 7/10 game, it was boring and inconsistent also Terra>Moon Narcissu is boring Planetarian is a 5/10 game it had a normal apocalyptic premise and went with the tragic route. Yes, that includes Muv-Luv Alternative and Steins;Gate, even though I still really enjoyed both of them nonetheless and gave them a 9.3 and 9.1, respectively. Fight me. Never7, Ever17, virtually all Uchikoshi before 999 are pain to read. Same goes to Tsukihime (oh, I would gladly remove 50% of text from that VN to make it less repetitive with lexicon of 10-year old). Best writing I read so far (I read about 50 from top 100 novels in English by VNDB rating) was in Sharin no Kuni and G-Senjou no Maou and (to some extent) in 999. Most likely this is because of the translator's vocabulary (the_noob_avenger is best!), but also is hugely depend on source material...
