What do you think of incest?

I never saw cousin marriage as incest(even though it is) because around me that was never seen as a bad thing. But then again I'm the type of person that doesn't really care about the moral views of others, since the views you have are(or should be) the most important moral guides for you. So if you were in a n incestuous relationship and both loved each other, who can even judge you for it?

Government and looks of disgust on the faces of almodt the whole (rather shallow-minded) societies

It's legal in Portugal to be in an incestuous relationship, direct blood relatives or not, and I believe even marry, that's probably why :P

So should I go outside with a sign that says: "Incest is totally okay"

Yeah mate, go for it.

Well I knew that(and I'm also pretty sure on the marriage side too since one of my uncles is married to his cousin), I was just trying to say that the notion of incest being wrong is also very malleable since it depends on a lot of factors, both internal and external.

Just because they do it, it doesn't mean that there's a right or a wrong in here. If you can even give an objective view on anything, that view here would be that the number of people that contain one belief do no account for it's strength or righteousness.

Beliefs are just notions that we have, if another doesn't share them it should be devoid of any core value for them.

They are not doing a wrong thing but they will be looked down on by the society probably so if they can live it , so be it. I myself can't.

As for arab countries, cousins marriage is totally halal

Well if you can't live by the notion that others look down on you there's also the option of leaving the place where you are.

I don't think there's a place where people are totally ok with brother-sister couples...

Well you don't have to go announcing to everyone that you are brother and sister do you? Even then not all societies operate by the same notion of ethics and moralities that you think they do.

Thing is that anywhere in the world, people are all not fine with something. Someone always doesnt believe in something be it homosexuality, porn, sex, new hair growth products and so there are always people who arent ok with something... We just have to learn to deal with it at the end of the day

It's fine not to be ok with something, you just have to grow up and accept that the world doesn't revolve around you and not discriminate.

How people live their lives should only matter to them. If it's not impacting other people directly and no one's rights are being violated, then it shouldn't matter.

Just gonna leave this here.

Why should mechanisms to avoid incest be so widespread both in nature and across human societies? The answer is simple. The problem with having sex close with relatives is that there is an astonishingly high chance that your offspring will be born with a serious birth defect. Take the results of a study of Czechoslovakian children whose fathers were first degree relatives. Fewer than half of the children who were the product of incestuous unions were completely healthy. Forty-two percent of them were born with severe birth defects or suffered early death and another 11 percent were mildly mentally impaired. This study is particularly instructive as it included a unique control group — the offspring of the same mothers but whose fathers were not the mothers’ relatives. When the same women were impregnated by a non-relative, only 7 percent of their children were born with a birth defect (Figure 1).
