Dedicated fans also buy more VNs. The random Steam user maybe buys one or two games a year while most of us buy multiple title in a year. Also as Rooke said we fund their major kickstarters. I highly doubt that the random steam user would spend a couple of 100€ bills on these kickstarters.

Lets say it this way, i prefer VNs with H-scenes but if the game is good enough i dont mind playing it without it (except for romance/moege). Would i buy a cutted translated version of moege/romance VN? Hell no! (im looking at you sekai projekt)

There are 2 possible scenarios. They start the marketing after Shiny Days release or its getting delayed a few months. And yes there could be a third option aka jast is dumb and dont marketing the game at all but i rule that scenario out for now.
