Dude, I will say I disagree with you, but Im very very glad to find someone like you. In my opinion, all elements of a work of fiction must be treated equally. Writing can be just as powerful as art or cause the same amount of damage, if bad, imo. I also watched that video but what opened my mind about the subject was this post. Before reading that, I also thought that story and characters> everything else. But then, I started searching and studying more and I finally realize art, soundtrack, animation, voice acting, etc. can all bring emotions and be intelectually stimulating just like story and characters.
It makes me sick seeing people saying stuff like: "I dont care about art" because that is not an opinion, that is a lie. People 'think' they dont care about art because they never studied how it is used and thus do not realize its impact. Those people tend to think good art is just being pretty and therefore it is easier to make than a good story. Now even if I disagree that writing is inferior to art or soundtrack, it makes me really glad to see people like you, at least to balance the amount of overrate writing gets from the community.

Also,  something I forgot to mention: have you ever read Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou? You might want to check it out. It also deals with apocalypse (in a very different way, tho) and the art is absolutely stunning. Not only it is beautiful, it communicates the essence of the manga in a way is, as Digibro said, hard to describe by words. From glances to smiles and backgrounds, it holds a special place in my heart. The story and characters, although good, would never be able to carry this masterpiece by themselves imo.

The difficulty level of the narration is fairly high... it generally settles around the 6-7 range, though the dialogue is mostly 'normal' at around 4-6.

    @starlessn1ght
The thing is, I really and seriously don't want to play everything from March... just because I have time doesn't mean that it is worth me using that time to do so.  I have other games to play, books to read, and work to do.  I might very well play them as random VNs during the summer, when I probably won't have anything better to do, but it is hard to get up the interest to play a lot of the VNs on March's list.  I don't want to read Maitetsu because Monobeno was my limit (actually over it) for lolige and Maitetsu is even worse.  I don't really want to read the new Dies Irae right now (and maybe not ever) because I honestly don't have a desire to revisit the Dies Irae world without a whole new cast of characters.  Jeanne is giving me headaches from trying to ignore how much I dislike what they are doing in the game.  My reasons for not wanting to play Shoujo-tachi were made pretty clear in the previous one, but I'll add another... I'm seriously bored with seishun drama now, and combined with my increasing distrust of anything by Takahiro that isn't Majikoi, I find it hard to get up the motivation to play it.
Giga's newest 'Kiss' series game is just out of the question.
I might very well dig into Astronauts new dungeon-crawler... if I can decide whether I think it will suck or not.

starlessn1ght reacted to Clephas in A bit of Hapymaher, as a motivator and because I'm evil
As for information... a lot of the VN is involved with the protagonist's ability to see lucid dreams (dreams where you are consciously aware it is a dream), and it balloons out from there to envelop the rest of the cast in a story that blurs the difference between dreams and reality.  At times it is comedic, but there is a definite atmosphere of sorrow throughout the whole thing... not to mention that the various characters also end up having to face their traumas and fears as part of the story ( in the common route, their own paths, or both).

starlessn1ght reacted to Clephas in Minori: Some self-examination
For the most part, it isn't really hard at all, since there aren't a lot of technical terms, but they use some manners of written expression that aren't common in most VNs, so at times the difficulty will spike sharply for people not accustomed to reading Japanese literature.

They are profitable in the long run...generally speaking, companies like Nitroplus and Light make as much or more money off of action figures and other stuff than they do the actual game.  In the case of Light, their current version of their in-house engine was designed to be compatible with the Vita from the beginning (ever since KKK, they've done that), so the real time-consumer was probably getting Sony to approve it.  Also, they also sell more in the long run, rather than in the first few weeks and months...
Edit: Type-moon makes most of its money off of side products, for instance, as does Nitroplus.  Though, Nitroplus also has a few huge-sellers that still sell copies today (Muramasa, the Science series - Steins;Gate, etc, Phantom of Inferno).  Light is still profiting off of Dies Irae five years later, and Propeller still brings in money from the sales of various versions of Ayakashibito, Bullet Butlers, Chrono Belt, and Evolimit.  The only problem with this business model is that it is based on long-term returns, rather than immediate ones *shrugs*.
Edit2: Though, that also means that when they lose out on a title, they really lose out... Propeller put out three games in a row that didn't sell all that well (though Tokyo Babel sales started to pick up a bit later on), and as a result, they haven't been able to release anything in the last two years.
Edit3: Though in Propeller's case, it was their own fault.  They got rid of their old writing staff and tried to go off into a new genre with Hakugin after Tokyo Babel didn't quite work out for them (the non-ero thing cost them badly) and they did their old genre badly with Sougeki no Jaeger, because they couldn't get their old staff back, or so I've heard.

And something else: Nosebleed as a prince? This is absurd! A trap princess would be more adequate... I can imagine him dressed as Nico with a crown in his head.

starlessn1ght reacted to Clephas in VNs: A Veteran's Opinion
No.  Generally speaking, while there are 'nukige' and 'galge' over there, the difference isn't made clear, even though it exists.  For one thing, you just don't get people seriously considering why the terms were coined in the first place.  As a point of reference, bishoujo-ge is an umbrella term that encompasses all male-oriented or yuri-oriented VNs.  Otomege covers female-oriented VNs that expanded from shoujo manga (you can tell the influence by the male character designs, lol).

I'm pretty sure we coined chuunige and charage from the beginning, though I can't be sure.  At the very least, I haven't encountered chuunige being used as widely as moege or nakige over there.  Chuunige is probably the most recognizable (to anyone who has played one), but I honestly have only run across like three or four people who actually used it over there... and it was relatively recent (I'm thinking reverse-influence as a possibility, which would be funny).

'ge' is just a shortening of 'geemu', and it seems to get tacked onto just about any game-related term over there, as the usual kind of word-shortening slang that every country's 'young culture' tends to develop.  I'm pretty sure I brought up chuuni games as a concept over here and someone else started calling them chuunige.
