  1. here are some of my manga see if you can identify what's what
  2. Oh, I see. Well I don't have any problem with Idolmaster as a whole (<--gross understatement) Really I just feel that the movie was too long. Whereas in your case it sounds like you can't connect with the characters ('lacking a core to make you emphasize with the characters' is not really a pacing issue but something else) P.S. If I were to pick out something about Idolmaster I really didn't like, it would definitely be Xenoglossia.
  3. I got around to watching the Idolmaster movie. It was "good". The K-On movie was great. This movie was just "good". It was 2 full hours. I started to yawn some during the 2nd half of the movie. I started to get restless. I felt like the big concert at the end came just in time. There is something a little off about the pacing of this movie. If you've seen it, do you agree?
  4. Well Tay's been away so long he needs an accelerated course. For you it'd be more like, Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar or Nanatsuiro Drops
  5. Well...I only teach Honors students. But if you're willing to put in some extra work, you can catch up. Your 1st assignment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onegai_My_Melody 52 episodes of intensive cuteness training.
  6. Rated 120V/60Hz. A woman visits her blonde friend who has recently acquired two new dogs named Rolex and Timex. She says, "Whoever heard of names like that for dogs?" The blonde replies, "Hellooooooo...they're WATCHDOGS."
  7. I saw Omoide no Marnie and it was remarkably good. And I'm not a Ghibli fanatic by any means. (And, the English subs on the Japanese Blu Ray were excellent. It's nice when a Japanese publisher show's they're serious about reaching an English-speaking audience.)
  8. This is the most sound advice I've heard spoken about translating in quite a while, Nose-kun.
  9. You used the word I was waiting for... "right." I assure you, there is no trick in those examples I used. What is "legal" and what is "right" have never been quite the same, and never will be.
  10. A hungry man tries to buy an apple from a street vendor. The shopkeeper is away at the moment, and he doesn't know when he'll be back. So he swipes it anyway. A man somewhere in America copies an HD movie off the internet. That same movie is available for $9.99 over at the Wal-Mart down the street from him. A man somewhere in America copies a movie off the internet. The movie is only sold in Japan. Because it has no subtitles, it is inaccessible to him language-wise (luckily, someone subbed the movie so he can watch it) All of these are illegal. That doesn't mean they are the same.
  11. Implementing a toggle may take some work. And due to reasons which sanahtlig stated, both porn and non-porn in the same package is probably not such a great idea. Removing H-scenes takes almost no work. Creating a non-H patch was trivial in terms of implementation. It literally took minutes. So, I guess separate H and non-H versions probably are the best after all. (On the lighter side, here in the U.S. we do this stuff to the max anyway. full fat, 2%, 1%, nonfat versions of milk. Cheerios with umpteen different flavors. Sweet and salted butter. Caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks. Diet foods for people who are watching their weight. So logically, non-H versions for people who are watching their H intake. )
  12. Just thinking out loud, but... Tthe console versions have extra stuff over and above the original PC versions. Sometimes a lot of good stuff (sometimes not so good, but the point is...) If you're gonna edit an H title, I think it ought to be edited just enough to get rid of the hardcore, but keep the stuff that would get an "R" rating (nudity and the kissing etc.) If you cut out all of it, then you just have the console version, but with no extras--might as well play the console version.
  13. What is "well-made"? What is a "quality" VN? When you talk about pirating vs buying, do you mean the original Japanese-language imports or the localized versions? What is it that we "should" be buying, again?
  14. May I remind you that a key selling point of the 2D bishoujo world is that you can have the body and the personality simultaneously. The world is your oyster, as it were.
  15. An Indian chief had three wives, each of whom was pregnant. The first gave birth to a boy. The chief was so elated he built her a teepee made of deer hide. A few days later, the second gave birth, also to a boy. The chief was very happy. He built her a teepee made of moose hide. The third wife gave birth a few days later, but the chief kept the details a secret. He built this one a two story teepee, made out of an imported hippopotamus hide. He challenged the tribe to guess what had occurred. Many tried, unsuccessfully. Finally, one young brave declared that the third wife had given birth to twin boys. "Correct," said the chief. "How did you figure it out?" The warrior answered, "It's elementary. The value of the squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sons of the squaws of the other two hides."
  16. I can make the following meals chicken fettucine alfredo swedish meatballs pizza pasta bowl beef stew pork roast fried or scrambled eggs sausage and beans hamburgers hot dogs various sandwiches desserts there are really only 2 I can make well chocolate chip cookies yellow cake w/ chocolate icing I just know how to use the basic cooking equipment and I don't make stuff from scratch, I use prepared sauces, mixes, pre-chopped vegetables, just whatever saves time.
  17. Interesting, some people have really analyzed themselves a lot on this. I never really did that or felt like doing that. (Maybe I'll make a list and let you people figure it out?) For me it's just, I meet the right (2D) girl and I get hit by the thunderbolt Only one thing, I'm pretty sure I don't go for the extremes. I'm all about balance in everything, I expect that applies to girls too
  18. This is actually a popular opinion among a certain group that you might want to join. It's called "The Knights Who Say Nii"
