  1. High-res lolis are among the best kind of lolis.
  2. No no no, I think he's saying that today isn't Aniki's birthday. DUN DUN DUUUUN
  3. According to Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita, from which the word is derived, somewhere around 12 years of age is the limit. Once they get to the high school age and try to fit in with makeup and whatnot, they lose their supple nymph-ness. Supposedly. Apparently this guy is the loli authority:
  4. Work at Donatsu-shi Because I'm hoping it's a doughnut place. -_-
  5. I think I would find this somehow entertaining. However, I can't imagine playing it for an extended period of time or getting immersed into the story or anything. It's just a cool concept that would hold my interest for a limited amount of time.
  6. A disproportionately long common route detracts from the relationship one has with a particular heroine, in my opinion. I believe that it should serve as an introduction, albeit an extended one, that allows the player to reasonably choose his heroine by getting to know the selection better. Therefore, I prefer a game in which the common route doesn't exceed half of the total playtime. There are plenty of good games that defy this, like Hoshimemo and Rewrite, but I think it would be better if they were constructed around a shorter common route.
  7. Welcome to Fuwa. I'm sorry that I don't have any imouto mystery-type twin osananajimi tsundere trap loli shrine maiden twintailed little devil faeries to offer you, but I'll look for some. -_-
  8. There's plenty of VNs that stray from the typical aspects of Japanese or otaku culture, but are still popular. Symphonic Rain, for example, intends to give a much more European feel. However, I myself might be scared to move into unfamiliar territory. The most appealing non-Japanese game, to me, would be one that seems to draw inspiration from the regular VN: art style, layout of buttons and text and such, music, etc.. However, I personally don't think it's necessary for the setting to be Japan, the names to be Japanese, or any other such matters. Quite a number of games either don't take place in Japan, or could very well take place somewhere else (Narcissu, for example, felt more fitting in America or something).
  9. Logged in today to a pleasant surprise: it's Aniki's birthday! Happy Birthday, Aniki!
  10. I think a good example is shows that include cute girls doing mildly interesting things. Lucky Star, Yuyushiki, Yuru Yuri. But are you sure Death Note is a "popcorn" anime? It was pretty involved, and required attention to understand what was going on. Though somehow, I agree with you on Code Geass; to me, that show was just a constant stream of various entertaining shizzle happening. -_-
  11. I can imagine why . I doubt it would be worth however many minutes it takes for the developer to configure things on a controller, considering how few people like you there surely are. If you use controllers because you can set them comfortably on your lap, can't you do the same for keyboards?
  12. Tell Mikado to run on ahead to inform his sister of what the situation is, then go with Johannes.
  13. My procilivities when it comes to heroines is consistently proving inconsistent. After starting with Hanako's route in KS, I thought I'd be very much inclined toward such a distinct type of character, but with some experience, there doesn't seem to be any pattern (with the exception of lolis, of course -_-). Perhaps I just like a character with more than two dimensions, merely for the sake of being realistic. If anyone's ever played Analogue: A Hate Story, I think Hyun-ae is a good example (<-- avatar); she can be serious, cheerful, sad, tsun, dere, et cetera. I simply don't want a character who fits into one label.
  14. "My name is Kamakura Makoto. Pleased to meet you. Do you need that hat? I have underwear to trade."
  15. Welcome! If you don't read VNs with adult content, I recommend Analogue: A Hate Story. But I'm not a sign or anything, so you don't have to listen. -_-
  16. Sneak around the ships' vicinity to gain some tactical intel. You can never trust those white-skinned gaijin.
  17. Huh, it looks like I'm in the minority. I almost always use auto mode if the game has specific enough settings to match my reading speed (multiplier by amount of letters in each line, minimum time to pause after the line is finished, etc.). Some games apparently don't cater to those few who use auto mode consistently and therefore have bad settings, like Grisaia no Kajitsu that can go to the next line even when the voice isn't finished. I guess I play VNs primarily when I'm lazy, because I don't feel like moving my finger to press a key or the left mouse click.
  18. I, too, have an inexplicable attraction to statistics, no matter how impractical, so I concur. Another IPB forum I use has a button that shows plenty of such statistics, so I assume that it wouldn't be too difficult.
  19. I haven't heard good things about it, so I don't think I'd be willing to sully my love for Dragon Ball Z. So I haven't seen the movie in either version. I might get around to it anyway, though. And I agree with the English dub part. When I first heard the Japanese voices many years ago, I thought that it was crazy and stupid to give Goku such a voice actor. But having been exposed to and studied Japanese for such a long time... his voice is still crazy and stupid. -_-
  20. Oh dear. Thank you for introducing me to that... I think.
  21. Hi. I like your glowy avatar.
