I have Aisha and Rinrin's endings in Koihime done. Starting my second play through now to knock out Shuri and what ever side girl I missed my first play through. The route I'm most looking forward to finishing is Sei's, she seems so bad ass and fun~

Chihayafuru completely broke me down. Whenever I think "I want, I need, to play something", I think of karuta. I don't care if no one else will play with me, I need to at least give it a shot. I started Working!! and got to episode 3. Realizing that it seems to be just straight up SOL I probably won't be marathoning it. Not to say I don't like it, I just rather marathon Nodame Cantabile instead. Speaking of Nodame Cantible, I started it tonight and got to episode 4. Lost track of time while I was watching it. I have high hopes for this series~

I blame myself for having more or less stopped playing fighting games recently. None of my closest irl friends (like family) care for fighting games, they all play Overwatch, League, CS, etc., so the lack of them playing with me finally got to me. Going to try out Iubki though when she comes out, also waiting for Tekken 7 (they at least enjoy 3rd person fighters).

Well, I finished Chihayafuru yesterday. Everything about that show was simply amazing. From the smack on the tatami mat to the opening and ending theme songs, anything involving sound and Chihayafuru was sweet love to my ears. Just thinking about it makes me happy! Then when it came to romance, I felt like it was handled more than fairly well. After watching Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu I was looking for a "josei" title, which is how I found Chihayafuru. While the anime unfortunately didn't get to the point where any direct romance occurred, I was able to feel the emotions of Mashima, Oe, Arata, Chihaya, Hanano, and the whole cast. The poems also helped a great deal at getting me to feel more than they were letting on. The art style and animation were superb. I can't say it was on the level of UBW, but it doesn't have to be. Don't really have anything to say more about this category, it was a lot of fun to watch and that's what matters. Now if only karuta was a thing in the US... Side rant - God everything was so damn amazing! Chihaya so cute!!! Fucking love this show so much I need another anime to watch after Chihaya, any recommendations?

A question for those who have any knowledge about Japanese history, namely in regards to a collection of books titled "A History of Japan" by George Sansom. Simply put are these collection of books worth buying? It seems the reviews on amazon are quite extraordinary but with it being dated, I'm worried it may not hold up (though the reviews definitely make that to not be the case). Basically, I want the opinion from someone whom I can trust more so (the Fuwanovel community) vs random reviewers on amazon. I want these books for casual purposes, not for a class, and not for an essay. The books are just to help expand my knowledge on Japan as I have wanted to do for some time. Thanks yo.
