  1. While a good female lead only needs dem front bumpers Seriously though, like Down, I don't watch much of these kinds of shows. The only thing that rings a bell when I read your description is OriEmo. Now THAT was one dispicable female lead surrounded by girls who were all cooler than her. Not because the other possible love interests were awesome, but because she was so disgusting, a trash can would become a lovable character when put next to her.
  2. Meh, the whole sexist/feminist thing irks me to begin with. Especially when it comes to games. Recently, this huge incident I'm sure you've all heard of happened in the Western Video game world, that started questioning if games are sexist, and how feminists were being "abused" for standing up for their rights or something. Anyway, my point is: Games, like any form of entertainment, are designed to satisfy the fantasies of their target audience. Especially Visual Novels. Thus, I don't see why or how portraying women the way most men fancy them as being wrong. Visual Novels are nothing more than a fantasy, and if you think real people should fit your fantasies, then you have some big issues... Men are portrayed pretty unrealistically in many romantic novels targeted at women. But I see that as only natural, I mean that's why people go to imaginary world, right? To see a world that can satisfy whatever desire they have. Calling them out on that because they're "sexist" sounds pretty ridiculous to me.
  3. It is indeed a weird Japanese thing, one that has a considerable amount of cultural and demographic reasons we need not go into... Oh btw, there's this one called Saya no Uta (song of Saya) that's about college students, and it's pretty short. Whadya say m8?
  4. Welp, everyone already said most of what needed to be said... But I would like to add that it's not the fact that the said protagonist is good or evil, but how balanced he is in the middle. A completely evil character is just as boring and predictable as a perfectly good character. Humans are in their own nature, not angels nor devils, but something in between. Even Hitler had some good qualities, and even the prophets of the Bible committed some mistakes. That's what makes the human race as interesting as it is. There is a large space between pure good and pure evil, which allows for a lot of variety between mankind.
  5. Rewrite your pathetic post. And read Rewrite.
  6. One word: Narcissus If you don't want to be depressed, do not read that VN. You have been warned...
  7. Usually, I ask around and see if the VN itself requires a walkthrough to complete with efficiency. Some, like Ever17 or Clannad, have a lot of choices and mechanics and orders that are hard and frustrating to go into blindly. With such VNs, I prefer using a walkthrough of course. As for others, such as Rewrite or Grisaia, the choices are few and are pretty easy to figure out, regarding which route you want. With those, I do not use a walkthrough. Some VNs I read for the lulz (Brass Restoration. Who can play that game seriously?), which I go into blindly just to see where I'll end up
  8. Hahaha, I can say with confidence that you can do whatever you want on the internet in Egypt, no anywhere in the Middle East, and not really fear the government, mainly because they're just too dumb to make any working system for dealing with online crime. Just don't go showing off your porn to the officials' faces and you're ok. Oh, and don't insult religion, cuz in that case they'll find you with speed and accuracy that'll make the FBI seem ourdated
  9. ... I wish I could describe my feeling with words, but this fowl language has no words I know of that can properly describe my feeling right now. But please, if you can, read every post in the forum, ever. Especially my posts
  10. Wow, not bad at all. Was pretty interesting to hear. (Though honestly your reasons for getting into VNs are disturbing as crap ) Looking forward to more from you guys, especially Sanahtlig and Suikashoujo.
  11. The biggest Rewrite spoilers imaginable lie ahead. You have been warned The purpose of this poll is to see what the majority think of the final route in Rewrite, Terra. Feel free to share your opinion and your reasons, and no need to worry about spoilers since you don't need to put them in the spoiler box if the thread itself has (spoilers) in its title (I think). As for myself, I thought it was nothing short of awesome. Kotarou's sexy voice, his awesome change in personality, the way he refused to bow to neither Guardian nor Gaia... Just awesome. It felt a lot like he got his own route, and I loved it
  12. How is that an unpopular opinion? That route was da best, the minority who have no taste whatsoever are the ones who think otherwise.
  13. I feel like a million people are arguing a million different things at once. We're honestly not getting anywhere. I highly suggest the people with complaints and things to say open up specific topics about what they think is exactly wrong, otherwise we're just going to continue having this "It's Ren's video! No, it's those troll threads! No, It's those lazy mods!" Forever. And I do request that this thread be locked if the aforementioned is to come to pass. Since this place has no use anymore.
  14. Well, personally I can understand the feeling that a some people joke too much... And yes, some VNs/anime do have a bit too much comedy. But it's usually done in a very fun, balanced manner. Rewrite, imo, is the best example of a fine balance between plot and comedy. I would say Grisaia is a prime example of how NOT to do comedy, but then I'll get bashed by all dem fanboys, so I'll refrain Oh, then again, this is unpopular opinion's thread, so I guess I can say it: Grisaia's comedy is awesome, but unbalanced as crap. I was laughing my head off the first few times, but after a while it just gets... Boring... If there was a reasonable amount of plot during that common route, it would have been fine I guess. But reading jokes, regardless of how good they are, for tens of hours is something beyond my capability...
  15. Oh God, the memories. Stahp Plz stahp On a more serious note though, yes this state is nothing new really. Lewy's frustration isn't something new, it's a cycle I have seen and have been a part of multiple times. What can I say? As far as updates go, patience is a virtue... And I can't really say anything more to that. But I do know the core reason for the frustration... It's the lack of "non-shitty" posts and threads, and less the increase of shitty ones. With the number of members increasing, the increase in trolly threads is natural. But what is unnatural is that "meaningful non-shitty" posts have remained in their modest number, if anything they might have even been decreasing. What's the reason for this? I have no idea, I'm not Fuwa. I myself, however, have not posted much in that forum (I think last I did was in the unpopular opinions thread, the last interesting thread over there I can think of). And the real reason for that... Is that I simply discuss what I want to discuss with my close friends on Skype, and am satisfied with just that. Recently we did a Rewrite podcast, that won't be out for quite some time due to technical difficulties I'm afraid (yes, I have a crappy microphone). But yeah, that's my personal reason. Why did I share it? I guess I want to hear what others have to say or something.... So, final word I guess: For those who want change, start making it. The VN section is dead? Go make that thread you've always wanted to make. If you have nothing to contribute, then in what place are you to criticize...? That's the only way non-shitty threads will appear, If people start making them.
  16. You left without even an excuse way before me
  17. Well, there was use to be a Fuwa YGO group group on skype, where we would organize online games, and it was pretty fun. Though now, it's pretty much dead for multiple reasons, though mainly because most people have moved onto Hearthstone, since it's simply a more fresh and balanced game. You can find that group's thread here . Leaving the game aside though, I've watched the first series as a child also, and fascinated by it. The characters are simply just so likable, I remember my sister being a more avid watcher than me, even though she hated the game itself. I never actually touched the manga though, and only watched very little of GX, though I did love it. I tried to watch the new series recently, but I guess my tastes have changed, since I simply couldn't stand it. The characters feel so... Childish in comparison to the original series I guss, at least for me. Also, since this is Fuwa, might as well share the hottest card ever
  18. Well, since everyone does one of these, guess I'll do one myself. Status: Bored

  19. And finally, in response to popular vote, the next episode is about your all time fav, Iskander!
  20. Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but G- Senjou No Moau's epilogue was the best I've seen in any VN like, ever, if not in all the story's I've read
