  1. There's only one relevant PS2 emulator, and it's PCSX2. Download the latest SVN build from its website and find bios on one of the major rom sites. Don't ask around on the PCSX2 forums for any of this, as all you'll get is snyde, hypocritical remarks and a ban.
  2. I don't pay attention to translation projects and take things as they come, but I am looking forward to Kara no Shoujo 2.
  3. I fucked my shit up recently. Now I have a 2 year break from long hair.
  4. They're 16:9 cropped images of the original high resolution 4:3 assets. The character sprites are just scaled down to fit the intended resolution. Compare the VNDB screenshots with the ones on the Steam page for a direct comparison without getting spoiled while viewing a CG set.
  5. Wait, did the original version also have widescreen support?
  6. The Souls games are definitely heavily inspired by Berserk. There are countless references throughout the games. Dark Souls 2 even has Guts' mounted crossbow and a sword nearly identical to the Dragonslayer. The wheel enemies in the Catacombs in DS1 and Artorias himself are the most obvious homages. I'd agree that Beatrice being a Schierke reference is most likely the case. Dark Souls 3 is looking good from what I've seen. The return of Demon's Souls' magic system is very welcome.
  7. I've found that unless it's Saya no Uta or Steins;Gate, there's very little interest in discussing Nitro+ titles by non-Japanese speakers. I can also confirm that you're not missing out on anything by playing the 2011 remake. People love telling me otherwise, but the h-scenes play out exactly the same as in the 18+ version, only with a few cut lines and a slightly different flow of dialog in one of them. It takes about an hour to re-implement the uncut h-scenes and artwork, but the difference in CG quality is an immersion killer. Not to mention that some of the gynoids have been redesigned. I'd be up for discussion, having more or less the whole script burned into my memory.
  8. You know, these threads generally turn to cringe within the first 20 posts.
  9. What you need to know about Agarest: Zero is that the entirety of Agarest 1's story mode is included and unlocked after you finish the main game. It only contains the event and boss nodes. Zero grinding. It's a far better way to experience it, unless you want to be able to choose each wife, which isn't worth another 300 battles with a downgraded combat system. Agarest 2 is set in a different universe entirely and has the same gameplay as Cross Edge. The PC and EU console versions have 2 CGs and a loli character removed from the massage mini-game. Also missing a DLC character. Personally, I find this game to be far better than the previous two.
  10. Something something, your father is fighting for our home, something something, palette swap.
  11. Went to a bar with my brother on the day of some big football (soccer) event in 2014. Big is an understatement, as the streets of Bergen were completely full. Around midnight, we're already sharing a table with 2 other groups of people. A third pulls up right next to me with their own chairs. I don't really pay attention to them, and then me and one of the others start arm wrestling. Not 30 seconds later, the girl from the third group who sat on a chair next to me climbs on my lap and starts grinding under the guise of wanting to participate in arm wrestling. She's wearing a mini skirt and stockings. She guides my hand down her inner thigh. I have no idea if she's in a relationship with any of the men in her group. Fuck it, I roll with it and start feeling her up. Not 10 minutes later, we're banging in a crowded hallway to the bathrooms. Some people notice and do the usual bro cheering, while the rest are doing their own thing. Tell her to go on ahead while I get another beer. When I return to the table, I find out that she was inded in a relationship with the guy sitting a few feet away from me. I don't know if they had an open relationship or what, but he never spoke up. They were both 18, not even out of upper secondary school (I think this is only a thing in Scandinavia. Americans would likely still call it high school), whereas I was turning 25. Not being able to take the awkwardness, I chug my beer and leave on my own. True story.
  12. Kong Taoluo from Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer is my favorite character, while my favorite route it likely the true route in Ayakashibito.
  13. I've wanted them to sell off their assets to devs who'd do them justice for a few years now. I think it's the only way we'll ever see another Metroidvania with the Castlevania name, or anything related to Suikoden.
  14. I'm fairly certain that Norwegian VNs or localizations don't exist. Most people these days speak English on a near-native level by the time they're 21, anyhow.
  15. Don't care either way, but I disable h-content if possible and generally tend to skip through most h-scenes not pertinent to the plot. The only time I slowly advance h-scenes is when I read VNs on my 52" TV with friends. Yep, that's a thing. Of course. Nukige tends to be deeply philosophical in nature.
  16. 30 fps isn't a deal breaker for me. I recently bought a 4k TV, and my GTX 780 TI can't get a consistent 60 fps in most games at that resolution. It'll be nice to play it at 4k locked at 30 fps without feeling like I'm missing out. Generally speaking, I always choose 60 fps at 1080p in that scenario. At least until the next line of GPUs are released which make 4k more viable without buying a specialty card like the Titan X or an SLI setup. The Tales of Symphonia PC release is also coming up in just a few months. It'll be interesting to see if it has an unlocked framerate, as the GameCube version runs at 60 fps, while the PS2 and PS3 HD versions run at 30.
  17. Finished up MGSV. After 100 side-ops, it was a struggle to finish the game. In the end, if you care about rank, the gameplay comes down to "knock out, fulton, knock out, fulton, knock out, fulton, find prisoner, fulton." For future players, I'd recommend focusing entirely on story, and if you're still not sick of the repetitive nature of the game, go ahead and do the side-ops. Started playing Dragon Age: Inquistion again now that all of the expansions are out. Still has those obnoxious DirectX errors and crashes on Nvidia GPUs. While I can play the game at a consistent 60 fps with everything maxed out, it doesn't take more than 15 minutes for the game to decide to crash. Some say it's actually Origin fighting with your computer's resources for control of the game. It's sad when you have to use cracks on a game you legitimately own just to avoid crashing.
  18. May as well make the initial goal 250k at this point. MLE/MLU are not actually worth reading without the grand finale. I believe just merging the two goals at 250k would increase the amount of pledges, considering it would be all or nothing. Now you kind of have to just hope that like-minded fans will donate beyond the initial goal.
  19. Don't care one way or the other as long as the focus isn't on h-content. They can add as much erotic fluff as they wish. I generally skip all of it if it isn't pertinent to the story. Even in love stories, characters tend to act like whatever sexual act never took place for the remainder of the route, so it's not as if we're missing out. I think this is at least my 20th post on the subject on this board alone. Got to love repetition. Popluar topics such as these should just get stickied and be heavily moderated instead of going through this endless cycle.
  20. I bought it from a local weeb store, who imported a bunch of Nitroplus products at my request. Even got my hands on the Kikokugai OST and Nitrous Oxide Vol.1 and 3. This should be the correct link. The cover art is confusing, being based on the non-canon joke route. You could also just get it off of Nitroplus' website.
  21. Sound.npa likely contains .ogg files, like every other Nitro+ game. Fairly low quality. NIPA should work, though it requires specific decryption commands. I have the OST in .flac format, but my upload speed is terrible to say the least. Uploading 400mb would take a few hours, rendering my internet nearly unusable for the duration. Cheap landlord who won't invest in fiber. Besides, I'm not sure if OST piracy is allowed here anymore.
