  1. Granted. You can now cook iron and make it into steel! I wish I had a Pepsi fountain and a high enough metabolism to never gain weight.
  2. I finally got around to finishing MM. Had some really sad episodes here and there, but the comedy got repetitive after a while and it stopped caring about character development in the later half of the series too. It was an okay watch and I didn't hate it, but damn it got old. Not gonna be as easy to enjoy masochism humor after watching this (this anime pretty much beat that aspect into the ground).
  3. MDruidd, don't spoil it. I know that 95% of the internet knows how CG ends, but hide the details for the 5% that don't! I remember a while back trying to avoid CG spoilers like the plague, but right when I got around to watching it, I ended up getting spoiled by someone I know who didn't even watch the anime.
  4. Well, aside from most Key adaptions, probably the greatest tearjerking moments I've witnessed in anime were from Railgun S and Geass R2. For CG R2, just assume the obvious for what I consider the best tearjerker, lol. For Railgun S, it'd be that scene on the bridge. That part was just wonderfully directed and the OST was perfect.
  5. I'm sorry, I suppose I was sort of making a generalized categorization of your tastes and made a bad assumption. I suppose you could call it a cynical side I've developed with forums over the years. Otherwise, I could definitely say I didn't take any particular notice to the side-stories since it was really only AS I cared about (though I did still enjoy them, in some ways). And while my memory of the series isn't particularly fresh (and I've only seen Clannad told through a completely different medium, anyways), I do have enough experience with Key's writers to know that most of them can't write their characters that well, and I can see how your experience with Kyou would be put off by Ryou. You really won't see better structure from Key games until you get to Little Busters and Rewrite where the side routes actually have a lot more relevance to the main route story (more so in Rewrite than Little Busters). Edit: And sorry again. I did feel a need to make a response, but I only lightly read your arguments since I don't want to spoil too much from when I do start the VN. I'll likely have more to add to this once I do, but it doesn't really seem like you'd be wrong, anyways.
  6. Yeah, that ED in Mangaka-san put me in the best mood imaginable. That was just wonderful! But damn it, even after 12 episodes, I still can't choose best girl! They're all so lovable in their own way and have a really good charm, but I love them all almost equally. The character balance is almost too good for me to make any kind of decision. This is rare. @_@ My friends have been trying to talk me into reading the manga for about 2 years now. I really think I should get started on that.
  7. That's a pretty rare opinion, but I suppose Maeda Jun's storytelling isn't necessarily for everyone. AS had some emotionally compelling moments, it consistently followed up with its family theme, and developed the protagonist very well. The ending was sweet, it made sense, and it was very heartwarming overall.
  8. This. Setting up the RSS downloader is really nice. You can grab the anime as soon as it's uploaded, and have it ready to watch by the time you realize it's there. It's especially nice when you're following multiple series per season (it beats having to visit nyaa all the time). Also, for anyone that grabs batch torrent on either nyaa or BBT, you can also set a priority for each episode and make it to where you don't have to wait for the whole thing to finish before you can start watching. I generally prefer BBT for completed series since they typically have more seeders than nyaa. I also stream on CR if I really want to stream something right when it's simulcasted (I did that for series like Kokoro Connect a while back). Otherwise, I just keep my subscription running without really taking advantage of it (just for the sake of supporting them). Sometimes, but very rarely, I'll stream CR on my phone or PS3 if I'm not at my computer (I don't have a laptop).
  9. Yep! And Dekomori and Kumin are anime original characters. If you don't believe me, check their character pages. They're associated with the anime entries, but not the LN ones. http://myanimelist.net/character/67215/Sanae_Dekomori http://myanimelist.net/character/67213/Kumin_Tsuyuri
  10. A Black★Rock Shooter anime that actually made sense would've been nice. So much potential with the setting, but it ended up being one of the most miserable experiences I've had with anime. Not only was the plot horribly written, but it was packed with annoyingly forced melodrama. I would've dropped it if it wasn't 8 episodes. It's still the only anime I've ever given a 1 to.
  11. Oops, you're right. Somehow I managed to forget what the ranks were. My bad! Yeah, I suppose the anime studio wants to at least cover the significant parts of the manga before ending it. It's not likely to receive a sequel, so I suppose they might as well do it like that.
  12. About the skipped arc in Brynhildr: Oh, I see. Well, I suppose anime can't always be faithful due to broadcast restrictions, but that is pretty unfortunate. I wouldn't be bothered by the cuts in Brynhildr at all if it weren't so mediocre. I mean, heck, I've even enjoyed a somewhat butchered SAO adaption just because they made it fun to watch. The animation, the OSTs, and the direction were really nice. The writing in SAO's anime was pretty bad, but I could still enjoy it for what it did do well in. But because Brynhildr isn't trying too hard to make itself enjoyable for anything other than its storyline contents, I can't help but nitpick the stuff it leaves out.
  13. I didn't like Brynhildr's 2nd OP either. I usually never skip anime OPs since they help me get into a better mood for watching the anime, but the one for this feels so out of place that I have no choice. The OP itself is good, but it just doesn't work for this kind of anime. Also, I've been a little disappointed with the way the manga's been adapted. As a standalone series, it feels mediocre in its presentation. My initial complaint was the excessive copy+pasting from manga to anime, but now it's even skipping arcs in the manga that were really interesting in favor of bringing out the Valkyria sooner. Gosh, I haven't even gotten to that chapter in the manga yet (I didn't think the anime would get to it so soon), and I also didn't realize a different group was scanlating the manga either. They're putting out chapters really fast too. o.o Right now, I'm at chapter 55 out of 105, so I'm happy I get to marathon this again (I love the manga). But yeah, I'm not letting the anime spoil the manga's experience for me either. Despite Elfen Lied's horrible and original ending in the anime, it still had a lot more substance than Brynhildr's adaption. But damn, will any of Okamoto's manga ever have a good adaption? Seems like a damn waste of potential (but I suppose Elfen Lied wasn't so popular in Japan, so I suppose it's to be expected).
  14. Gosh I haven't even watched Saki yet. I tend to only read doujins of stuff I've watched/read before since the interactions would make less sense without certain knowledge from the work it parodies (sometimes I'll make exceptions, but not always). I do plan on starting Saki one day, though. I just need to clear up my backlog of stuff to watch.
  15. Han Solo, why are you aiming for the nuts?
  16. That is a nice idea. I love that pairing in Yuru Yuri, but I haven't tried out any doujins for them yet. These look really nice, too. Thanks for the suggestion!
  17. The Little Jumper version is definitely nice, but nothing beats the original for me. ^^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VatkGGooKrI Also, I've re-discovered my love for Chata. Haven't really heard her much after Hoshimemo, but I started listening to some stuff on youtube and it's been really nice. In addition to all the official work she's done, her doujin works are brilliant. This is my current favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxDLAlhyUDY
  18. Sometimes I feel like I'm overdosing on this kind of stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiW-SZ0YvCA
  19. Finally got around to planning my watch for the next season. I tend to look into staff lists to make my choice and I came across quite a few interesting titles. I'd like to mention one certain anime that isn't high on the radar that I think should be. Hanayamata has some REALLY capable SoL staff working on its adaption, and the PVs look adorable. Definitely not something you want to miss if you're a cute girls SoL fan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5X1blJm8tA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEYhJi3WlPE My list for this season will include Akame ga Kill!, Aldnoah.Zero, Ao Haru Ride, Hanayamata, Love Stage!!, DRAMAtical Murder, Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Sword Art Online II, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!, and Free!: Eternal Summer. And before you guys say anything about Love Stage!!, DRAMAtical Murder, and Free!, I'm not a bishounen fan! But... sometimes those shows can be interesting to watch. Not only that, but Free! had some damn good character writing (seriously).
  20. I decided to dab into some of these NicoMaki doujins since I hadn't today. Yuri has sorta been on my back-burner for a while since I lost interest in it, but these doujin might just restore the enthusiasm I had for the genre. They're absolutely fantastic and the ones drawn by Ooshima Tomo in particular are the best. And now I'm resubscribed to yuri-ism! God, I wonder how long it's been since I've been on their site. Feels nostalgic. ^^
  21. Oh yeah, I remember that being my weekly reprieve from serious stuff for ongoing anime. It was a really relaxing watch. I was pretty ecstatic when I heard the sequel would have 15 minute episodes instead of 3! I'm still kinda stuck on Chara. Actually, it's been a over a year since I put it on hold. I loved the first season, but the beginning of S2 kinda put me off. It's been a while and I don't particularly remember what it was I didn't like, but I do plan on picking it back up eventually. And yeah, I did make up my mind to never watch S3 as I heard it was pretty atrocious from numerous fans of the series. P&S was so much fun. It's one of the lewdest and most over-the-top anime I've seen. Some people might not like the western style animation, but I thought it fit really well for the anime's style of comedy.
  22. Just came back from eating out. I'm up! Edit: Also, I'm probably gonna be on another short break from Osu. I need to get some things straightened out before I can get more into it. I can never bring myself to play the game for anything less than 3 hours. >.<
  23. My accuracy is getting a lot better. o.o Also, I decided to put my old training idea on hold. Might still tweak it in the future, and I'll definitely keep the sections in tact (they help a lot), but I think I'm gonna stick with just doing random songs at various difficulties based on what feels good at the time. Seems to work better for me that way.
  24. This song is so cute. :3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtHDIAwEsqI
  25. Didn't laugh at that video. Nichijou's comedy never really hit well for me. There were some scenes that I thought were pretty funny, but I didn't like Nichijou for the most part. ._. Most of the comedy had very little build up, felt random, and the feel of the execution felt awkward to me. Loved Binbougami ga though! I need to watch Yakuindomo's sequel too, the first season was really fun.
