    Good luck, can't wait to read the finished work.

     

    I have no problem admitting I don't know how to make a script that will do what needs to be done without breaking something. If you think you can and want to help out, by all means, have at it.

  2. If someone posts a clear guide on what exactly they're doing manually here, I can write up a script to do it. I'm a CompE major, an automation script should be doable :P I just have never been able to understand how to break the encryption, but if you guys already know how to get it back in, I can write a script to convert all the excel sheets at the very least.

     

    What I'm doing is using a hex editor to manually alter the existing Japanese text(which I can't even read, because HxD hates me) to the translated English text. At the same time, I'm entering needed line breaks and I just encountered the first place I had to resize the text, which took me a full day to figure out.

     

    The reason I don't really want to try Diego's method is for those reasons: I looked it over and I don't see a clear way to alter things that need altering with how the game reads the script(mostly stupid font resizing).

     

    I lost two weeks worth of work due to accidentally overwriting my backup and breaking my main, meaning all I had left was the backup of the backup, which I never remember to update. I'm about two fuckups away from breaking my last keyboard, which would be... problematic. I'll talk to diego more privately to see if his method will work how we need it to. If so, I imagine I can speed this up quite a bit. If not, well, my keyboard has had a long and good life.

     

     

    Edit: I want to apologize for taking so long. Due to family issues and now school, my progress has slowed to about 100 lines edited a day, and that's on the days I actually can even start.

     

    2nd Edit: Just so you guys know, we are fully capable of making a patch. Making it isn't the problem. We can unpack, edit, and repack the script all we want. The problem we've faced is just how time consuming the process of actually editing is. I have a sneaking suspicion this may be why many projects die.

    Over all sounds like its pretty far along. I can't wait. Thank you for the response and Thanks to the team for working on this. Been really wanting to play it for years.

     

    QC is quality check, quality control, whatever you want it to be, really. And yea, same, so here's hoping they finish soon!

  4. I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question. Just stumbled upon this place. I was really looking forward to a Majikoi translation back when it was the previous team but lost interest as it seemed to stall out in production.

    Happend upon this effort entierly by chance. I understand that there hasn't been a release date given for various reasons and that's fine, I was just wondering what is left that remains to be completed?

     

    Gakuto QC, Miyako QC, and the patching. The TL is entirely done, and the uncensor patch(optional) is also completed, if I recall correctly.

    If Ouraibaa wants to send me the Moro script, or even the first 10-15 lines only, I'll see if I can actually edit a few full lines.

     

    UPDATE: I think I've figured it out. As I'm not a great programmer, I'd be doing it by hand, which means probably at least a day per route even for the side routes, but I'm willing to give it a go if the team is willing to give me a chance.

  6. Andy, if your friend is looking for something to translate, I would suggest asking around to see if anyone can help getting the script out of one of the other Maji Koi games, or another VN. The only route left in this one is Miyako, and two people are already working on it, as can be seen from the first post.

     

    As Chifuyu said, there are quite a few people who can probably get/repack the scripts for patches, with translators being the real bottleneck.

    Also, this idea that I'm just doing it because I'd be bored otherwise strikes me as silly.

     

    Maybe a bit silly, but you just finished saying you're not in your right mind. Who are we to judge your motivations?

  8. I find this completely redundant making Dowolf do work that has already been nearly completed by Kosuna just because a bunch of people are impatient with the progress of Kosuna's work. I understand Dowolf not wanting to jump ahead into Majikoi S since it is quite extensive with a few routes to be done, but instead of wasting his unlimited amount of free time on that, rather finish off the other 2 routes in Majikoi A-1 from where Wairu left off.

     

    I tend to agree. Benkei and Azumi would be of similar length to Miyako. However, the rest of the team would need to join him in his TLs, because Wairu left nearly everything undone in A-1. Images need editing, ending skits do as well if I recall correctly, menus are also not done as far as I'm aware. Plus the QC and programming. As I said before, the problem with starting a new game is making sure that all the roles are filled. Just a TL won't get very far towards a patch in most cases.

     

    As a bonus, this way, people can choose to use either kosuna's or dowolf's translations, depending on which they prefer.

  9. It's at 99%, which I think is pretty damn solid.

    But then there were lines he had trouble with (Which turned out to be Chinese, btw. No idea what that's about. He's flipping through Kanji books to figure it out.), and I said he could work on it, since it's what he'd been working on for nearly a year.

     

     

    Also, Dowolf is a freaking powerhouse, just sayin'.

     

    Chinese... in a VN? That's odd. Has he tried asking someone who speaks chinese?

  10. And this is exactly why we don't have deadlines anymore. Such a ruddy mess.

     

     
    I can't speak for anyone else, but I think it's the lack of solid updates from kosuna that are starting to cause worry. Especially contrasted to a completed route every week or two from dowolf, which I don't think is fair to kosuna, as the side routes are significantly shorter.
  11. Maybe it's premature, but are there any plans to do S? Or any of the As?

     

    Dowolf has said he is a solid "maybe". It is a very big undertaking to continue to the other games. Most of Maji Koi was already done when he started, with only the side routes remaining. S has significantly more left undone(likely a majority of the game), and would be a much bigger project. The A-x games are much the same.

     

    In addition, he'd need the entire staff here willing to carry on, since QC, image editing, and patching would all still need doing. That said, I really do hope they keep on, as I would love to read the remaining new route in S(childhood/kouki) as well as the routes in the A-x games.

     

    On a related note, all hail dowolf, breaker of the Maji Koi curse.
