Any word about if this is supposed to conclude the story or if there will be more parts coming? I'm intrigued by this VN, but I'm not about to torment myself by reading something unfinished with no end in sight.

    Reading Chaos:Head
Hmm, what can i say? As expected the story is awesome and you don't know what the heck is going on. But not in a way that makes you annoyed and want to put it down. In a way that makes you more interested in uncovering what's actually going on here. The VN itself is very unimpressive and the only thing it's got going for it is the story. Characters aren't anything special either. Especially the protagonist. He's a waste of oxygen, plain and simple. His sister is cute though and him being an otaku from hell, i find it strange he doesn't recognize the clearly very cliche little sister traits in her. Anyway, it's a good vn if you're looking for a good plot, and reading it is apparently good groundwork before going into robotics notes for example.
I guess.. My previous spoiler is redundant now that i finished the game 😂 was a fantastic read and will read it again when noah hits.

Hands down one of my top 5 VN experiences last year, so I highly recommend it!

You can rest easy. There are a lot of major plot points to unveil, and what you mentioned in your spoiler isn't entirely accurate anyway.

Reading the English Steam version is definitely a safer bet then. If you want to delve into the console arcs later, all you need to play them on PC is a copy of Chapter 4.

That might work, yeah. I haven't actually gotten started on the console arcs myself yet, since I want to read them all in one go. Most of them are available in English on PC by now, but there are a few still in the pipeline.

Sadly, most of console versions newer than PS3 are no good for me. I don't own any console (and I'm not ready to go without text hooking yet since I have to look up lot of words), so I have to rely on emulators. PS4 isn't emulated yet, so that version is out of question. As for Switch - there's an emu, and I managed to play World End Syndrome with it, but the performance was far from stellar, and I'm not sure how hook-friendly Switch emulation is
But then maybe I should try my luck with PS3 version? It looks like I could get it (used) from amazon for ¥4400 (incl. shipping). Just have to check if it's hookable beforehand, since some VN engines are weird, and don't have separate memory area for textbox contents. In those cases, or when the game uses non-standard text encoding, hooking is impossible.

Too bad you don't own a Switch, or you could've picked up that version for a measly ¥3960. It's, to my knowledge, the only release that includes the story in its (current) entirety ("all 19 console arcs, the drama cd arc, Hajisarashi-hen, plus the three Hou exclusive arcs", to quote VNDb). That's some serious bang for the buck.
(Dunno if you're at the point where you can read Japanese without a text hooker though, so maybe it wouldn't help you even if you had the console.)

EDIT: I just noticed that the Switch version was apparently later ported to PS4, so maybe that's an option for you.

I think you'd be fine with Higurashi then, so give it a whirl!

Yeah, that's what I figured as well. It'd be pretty weird to implement such a limit otherwise, when most of the other characters have names that are longer than that.

Hard to say since I don't know quite how sensitive you are or what type of content affects you most. I found Higurashi a lot less disturbing than SubaHibi, but it's definitely a few shades darker and more impactful than World End Syndrome. In any case, I highly recommend you give it a try, because it's quite a ride if you're up for it! Just remember to grab the 07th-Mod.

    Congratulations, you played yourself
But, jokes aside, I'm also looking forward to the sequel Luckily, for this VN I managed to go spoiler-free. BTW I think that weird character limit for protagonist's name is there because developers couldn't be bothered to properly adapt the system from the Japanese version for English release - in Japanese number of characters would be enough for almost any possible name, when writing in kanji.
BTW I have to ask - if I enjoyed this VN, would I be okay with Higurashi? (I'm almost 100% sure that Subahibi is a no-go for me, but Higurashi doesn't seem so fucked-up based on reviews)

Yes it is, no doubts about it

Finished World End Syndrome a few moments ago. I'm a big mystery fan, but I ruined the experience for myself here to some extent by unintentionally spoiling myself.

Anyway, despite this and the cliffhanger-ish ending, I found the VN quite enjoyable as a whole, and I'm looking forward to see what they do with the sequel.

From my understanding when Evenicle 1 came out on Steam it was during the time Steam allowed just about anything regardless of content, if they tried to release that today it would likely get rejected, Steam is just very inconsistent with it's policies related to such content but I've also heard they banned a bunch of all-ages visual novels for no reason at all.
I don't think Evencile 1 will ever be removed from Steam unless the license expires, it wouldn't be in Steam/Valves best interest to try to remove it for any other reason, the backlash for that would likely be pretty big.
This just means Evencile 2 will be released uncut with mosaics and DRM-free on different storefronts.

Kinda expected that to happen. Given Valve's track record, I'm more surprised they actually let Alicesoft sell the original game completely uncensored on Steam.

Well that cover looks like everything else. I'd not give it a second glance if i had no prior knowledge.
Im reading muv-luv extra and i really enjoy it. I love that it isnt taking itself very seriously and is just about good humor and fun. A bit in the vein of majikoi. Humour in newer stories got nothing on this. My one complain would be character art. Most are fine but some are... just plain weird looking.

No problem and thanks for the response!  Replaying Mio's route to ditch the medal ended up working out and the second play-through only took about 1/20th of the time that the first play-through did so it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be 😄

Well, since I just happened to have played it recently (and replayed it... twice), I can share my opinion on the matter.
Whatever the opposite you said, except when it comes to liking things. Or, in other words, I like it a lot.

Just finished 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, and, well, I'm kinda underwhelmed.

The overarching plot was pretty decent, but the presentation; not so much. I mean, you're just dropped in the middle of things without any idea what's going on, and then you're expected to keep track of a ton of characters and their relationships while the game jumps back and forth between different timelines in basically every scene. Things obviously got clearer as the story progressed, but the hours leading up to that point weren't very enjoyable and I don't feel like the conclusion to the story was satisfying enough to make up for it.
I found the characters completely uninteresting, in large parts due to the sheer number of them, which effectively counteracted individual character growth. This is a common problem for me in games with a large cast, and this one was no exception. I could barely keep track of their names, much less care about what happened to any of them. Now that I'm done, I can say that not a single one of them left much of a lasting impression on me, save for maybe Miwako, who wasn't even part of the main cast.

In conclusion, I wouldn't say this is a bad game, but I had quite high expectations diving into it and that ultimately ended up making this a lackluster experience for me when it didn't live up to them.

Hiya, you guys! Guess who's back~
I spent last week reading through the entire common route of Majikoi and boy, did I enjoy it haha
    First impressions
    Positives
strong and dominant female cast unique and diverse characters good comedy fast-paced without much info drop the end skit hehe Negatives
the art and BGM are very average imo I'm still not sure what to say here abt the vn itself; I had some issues with some characters, but I will dwell on that later Characters
Miyako: She was fun at first, but the jokes got tiring and repetitive with time...
Wanko: I L O V E H E R ! ! ! I don't want to have to lewd her in her route uuuuugh... Ravioli, ravioli, don't lewd the doggo loli. A pal of mine described her as the mix of Kud and Masato (from Little Busters!) and it couldn't be any less true.
Chris: Hmm... I don't think she's a bad character, per se... but she is indeed the least interesting one, I'd say. She's kinda preachy and annoying - kind of a jerk, a lot of times lol
Mayu: Not gonna lie, I disliked her at fitst (I only liked "Matsukaze"), but she did grow on me, especially after both fights with Chris haha
Momoyo: Even though her actions are questionable - with the harassement and rape jokes and all, I am still a sucker for strong girls  sigh...
Shouichi (Capt.): I want to see my little boy...! Here he comes! I want to see my little boy...! Personally, I see him the same way as Wanko: just an innocent child running around hehe
Gakutou: I was expecting that first bad end to be with Gakutou ngl; it was disturbing, oof... Well, I love muscle idiots, he very much reminds me of Masato, except Masato doesn't think with his dick lol
Moro: I like him, he's the sane member of the group lmao He doesn't stand out though, not that I mind it.
Minamoto Tadakatsu (Gen-san):  Man, I just love this guy! He's the first tsundere I actually stand and like, woah 💕 He's such a sweetheart hehe
I couldn't bear Ikurou... He was too much; Oogushi was alright, I guess; Man, I loved Azumi, even though she barely showed up lol Aoi Touma... what a bi icon, I love him, heh; he wasn't a trash character and was clearly bi, so that's nice (yes, the bar is low) Love for children aside, Jun is cool! That cool and smooth voice totally suits him lmao Finally, for Yamato: he's a good balance between generic and OP (to the point of it being too much). I have to admit that amongst such a diverse and powerful cast, he is a bit underwhelming, but I like it. He doesn't need to be too excentring, since he is usually "watching" the story unroll (as the protagonist). ----------------
Well, then. I will read Chris' route tomorrow. I'm a little uncertain on how to feel about her, but at least now I know better than to actually read h-scenes lmao well, except this one is apparently needed for the plot
