That's fast... Now it's all about the translation quality if they can keep this kind of release schedule without making it unreadable they have some bright future before them...
Or not. After browsing Steam Spy statistics I'm starting to wonder if there's a big enough market for straight-up moege in the West right now. Literally every SoL VN published on Steam in 2017 had shitty sale numbers, apart from Nekopara, that one Nekopara rip-off and Sakura games. If NekoNyan don't differentiate with their line-up they might be up for a disappointment.

Yeah, we did ... Doesn't hurt to go back to it from time to time just to make sure I made the right choice ...
The reason I went with "directness" specifically is because it seemed to be one of the more often used variants of the particular phrase. Actually, I saw it here and even in the example they used the word "directness". All these words are synonyms of each other (with a slightly different nuance for each): "directness", "frankness", "bluntness", "pushiness", "forwardness", "openness"... But yeah, essentially the example you gave also has the same connotation/meaning.
Now, the last modification I'd make to it is to switch from Passive Voice to Active one. That's what the option 2) is supposed to be. Your example is also in the Active Voice: "Her directness caught me off guard."... So I might go with your example at the end, if I don't hear any other better suggestion ... Thanks

Going from just the English, "Her pushiness/forwardness/bluntness caught me off guard." Sounds a bit better to me. Not a big fan of directness as I can't remember when someone last used it here. It sounds OK if you want to keep it though. All have relatively the same meaning

Mahoutsukai no Yoru / Witch on the Holy Night

    System Requirements:
    OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
CPU: Pentinum4 over 1GHz (recommended some CPU around 2.66GHz)
    RAM: More than 1GB
    HDD: 5GB
Resolution: 1024×576 pixels or higher screen
Optical drive: DVD-ROM drive that supports dual-layer
    DirectX 9.0
First, I'd like to apologize for the long wait, and your patience was rewarded, with perhaps a much steadier stream of updating from now on [hopefullly!].
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    PROGRESS:
    Chapters 1 to 6 - translation complete
Chapters 1 to 1.5 - patched and ready to go
    GAME INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Remember to change System Locale in the Region settings to Japanese.
PATCH INSTALLATION: MAHOYO patch + Aolight font download

FONT AOLIGHT IS REQUIRED ALONGSIDE THE PATCH (PLEASE INSTALL INTO PC BEFORE RUNNING THE GAME)
Aolight is a modified version of Aozora Mincho Regular. I tweaked it so that the text could be properly displayed in the game, because the space for each letter in-game is displayed inside an invisible rectangle that cuts off the letters when they're italicized and need more spacing in their letter display. Make sure you have it selected at the game's Change Font menu. The wordwrap is tailored specifically to this font and anything else besides this will not work.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In all of these fan attempts, one fan patch, and Commie's silence on their entire Mahoyo project........here's my attempt, with the objective being: to finish it!
A modern-day teen witch becomes friends with an old-fashioned teen witch, and meets a boy hailing from the incredibly rural mountainside. And with that, the magic begins.

...Polishing it to a nice sheen with respects to its own gem of just your typical slice of life shoujo with a heaping whopper of magic thrown in so dazzling we have to stop and admire the assembly of a spectacular lightshow presented in visual novel format. Thanks Kirikiri! *heaves, out of breath*
In all seriousness: I have always loved this linear yet beautiful visual novel, so happened to be published by the company that released Tsukihime and the more renowned Fate/stay Night. It was a surprise to see that for once, this was for all ages. Not only is it pretty in visual terms (and I mean the art has improved), but the music is just fluid and breath-taking when accompanying the story. Props to Hideki Fukasawa, it's like the VN was made for his music. Or is it the other way around??
Let it not be said that creator and co-founder of Type Moon, Kinoko Nasu, doesn't drop a few ero jokes regarding Mahoyo. Maybe at some point, I'll share his comments going through the script files, cause it can get laugh out loud funny what he inserts for every semicolon.

    1) I don't know how I would change the first one. I might just go with upping the contrast and using Ms. Beautiful-yet-creepy or some such, but it's the best I can do. The EM dashes can indeed be used effectively as a way to represent a random thought that suddenly crops up.
    2) Simple sentences like these suck. I don't know how to even change them ever. So let's look somewhere else.
Consider 'sighed miserably' for better imagery, though the connotations usually associated with it tend to be 'badly' or 'terribly' as opposed to 'looking miserable', so it is likely a poor choice.
    3) The issue with 'just a mere' is that they both fulfil the same role. It's similar to the famous 'overly verbose' (except 'overly' wouldn't stand on its own). It isn't wrong, but it is redundant to use both. Or not. If he's trying to sound particularly condescending. As for 'jerk', I have little comment. Going by Decay's own comment, it would seem the word isn't often used this way, though I am entirely fine with it.
    4) You might consider 'being/having to be an adult' between quotes, to project the appropriate mental image. Not an elegant solution, however. Other often used alternatives, like 'dealing with real life', don't duly convey the 'adult' correlation, if you intend to keep that idea in.

Infernoplex reacted to Stormwolf in A Sky Full of Stars - +18 Restoration [DROPPED]
The line in the first image just seemed a bit weird with it's both present and past tense. It's not hard to understand at all though. Perhaps add some symbols to indicate when it changes perspective?
The second. I would just care about that if i had plenty of time tbh, as it's such a minor detail. Otherwise i'd change them to be similar.
Third. That's a tough one. It does get it's message across quite easily with just one word. Otherwise you'd have to add some to the sentence. Doing her adult things/stuff (it is from the perspective of a minor). Again, super minor stuff as the meaning is so easy to grasp. I'd just keep it if it was me.
    That's just my take though.

To be more specific I'm NOT talking about people/companies who focus on translating / licensing / releasing / making VNs because we've had plenty of discussions about them and their actions.
I'm talking about the fans. The randoms that frequent discussion on subreddits/forums/discords, the people that buy/consume VNs, people that follow and try to interact with big VNs at social media or anime conventions and follow kickstarters or whatever. So basically not just limited to /r/visualnovels.
    ----------
Now I want to be fair and talk about my personal views on what I current like and dislike about the community at the moment. I'll start with the negative stuff since some of it has been on my mind more recently.
The first thing is this weird sense of negativity I've been seeing more of more. Some of it is more subtle some of it are super obviously angry/douchey/elitist posts. There's things where people are angry with the way some of the companies handle releases of VNs. Some are justified, some are.. perhaps a bit overblown.
I'm more concerned with people who give other fans shit for supporting the company/companies they like to shit on. Regardless of whether you like a company or not some people still enjoy what companies despite what they do (or the so called problems don't affect these fans). A particular thing I've seen is calling people 'shills' just for trying to defend things company does that people might be misinformed about but since it's the in-thing to 'hate' on the company it's alright to use dumb insults like that.
And then outside the company thing, just creating (whether directly or indirectly) these weird elitist circlejerks against certain types of fandoms. JOPs vs EOPs. Official TLs vs Fan TLs. Kickstarters vs Not. Japanese made VNs vs OELVN/EVNs. Story VNs vs Moeges, How 18+ Content should be handled etc. For the EVNs in particular, I admit I haven't read any, but I've honestly started to wonder where these EVN fans are even supposed to talk about ones they like when many places like to call the popular EVNs "babbys first VNs" and make a lot of assumptions about EVNs that may not even be true.
Now obviously I'm not saying you have to force yourself to like things you don't like, just be respectful to be people who like things different from you and cut out the silly elitist/circlejerky like comments.
The only other thing is outside the occasional discussion, kickstarter topics, some video review and the few VN podcasts that exist, there isn't much in the way of ... fun VN content creation? Like I know streaming can't really work for viewers unless it's a really known entity (but even then) but I rarely see visual novel related memes (but maybe they're just purposefully screened out/deleted here), I don't see a dedicated person who makes reviews consistently, and I don't see any big drives for the community itself to spread the love of VNs to others outside big trends that happen by accident. I know the last point in particular is hard to do but you'd think we'd at least try or something.
    ----
As said though, despite all the said above there are a bunch of things I like.
The fact that the VN community is just slowly growing and people are constantly finding new ways to sell VNs they like to other people is nice. There's always helpful people around when there's a legit issue people may have with the game.
Some discussions on various topics are a lot more interesting and mature than discussions I see on other media like movies, video games, sports, etc.
The content creation/other stuff that does exist is really nice to see since there's a bunch of cool projects that are taking off related to VNs.
While I do wish more of the communities were merged together it's still nice to see a whole lot of different ACTIVE VN communities for many types of VNs or that focus on certain parts that are cool and varied. Some are for getting people to read a particular type of VN, some are for people who like a certain company, etc.
I think it's nice to see how people get passionate can get towards the VN developers/TLers/whatever, seeing the hype of newer releases, and seeing people bond and meet when they otherwise wouldn't through a still niche medium. And just seeing lots of different kinds of VNs that get popular and seeing why people like them.

    ----

Anyway, I ranted quite a bit. What are you guys' thoughts on the current community/fanbase?

I do plan to make updates regarding progress, at least on a monthly basis. Regarding current progress, there's not much to report, as Dergonu already said earlier. Be warned that there's tons of lines to go through so it won't be done in a while. This is the progress I snapshoted 10 days ago. This is how it will look like when I update the progress status (regarding H-scene translations). Currently, only one TLer is active at the moment (Dergonu) and he has his own stuff to do besides this so it's definitely gonna take some time but it will get done since we are fairly motivated to see this through. Maybe one more TLer joins soon, but we'll see about that soon.
Also, it would be helpful if an editor pops out in a couple of months or more.
Regarding porting progress, so far it's only some 30 scripts done out of 200+ something.

pls the real reason Pulltop VNs have such long H scenes is because they present challenges to continuous 2D fappers
With such great art, really horny girls, and lots of monologue and dialouge to get you into the details of anime sex they really want to indirectly award people who can make it all the way through the final cumming
It can be quite difficult for me to reach the end of some of these Pulltop H scenes...

No, it doesn't have a lot of H... Well, compared to the overall VN that is xD... 17 H-scenes isn't a lot by any stretch of imagination. But Pulltop H-scenes aren't that simple. They have tons of lines and do have a meaning in the story, it's one of those slice of life VNs where without H scenes, it's not the same experience. The reason why the VN has so many script files is because it's very long (well, there are longer VNs out there, but it's still a long VN, with some 46k of lines... this might sound a lot, but there are VNs with 3 or 4 times the size of this one)
"a lot of translators" - Err, no, you saw Codes He currently isn't TLing at the moment and he acts as a moral support for the project. Also, no need to worry, we already got a potential QCer who is willing to help us if any bugs arise.
Nice, very very nice. I have all of these in PDFs, I myself need to go through these books at some point. I want to learn JP as well, but it's god damn hard xD ...

Good luck! I'm not really sure of what kind of scenes were cut from the ASFOS but I agree, it's very annoying when a VNs story isn't in it's full. I don't really want to give MoeNovel any money as though games that PullTop makes are great and deserve money, MoeNovel cutting a lot of the story out and saying "PLZ BUY THIS UNFINISHED PRODUCT" is just a massive scam. This is also the reason that I'm not sure about MoeNovel releasing ASFOS-FD as they'd probably butcher it and someone would have to make a restoration patch (I've tried looking around for people who have done walkthroughs/have ASFOS-FD but I can't seem to find anything.) It's annoying how I can't play the sequel or watch someone else play *sigh*

So recently, I've been playing a game called Space Engine, which is a really cool universe simulator where you can explore stars, planets, galaxies and the like.  I've stumbled onto a very interesting solar system, so I've decided to name all of the planets after Fuwanovel members, in honor of this great community.
Important Note: The solar system only contains 25 planets, so obviously I couldn't reference all of Fuwanovel's members.  I tried my best to name those after very prominent users.  If you don't see a planet named after you, my deepest apologies.  I could only fit so much within the technical limit.
With that said, here is the Fuwanovel Solar System.

I also seriously doubt that most of those VNDB voters have ever read it, even machine-translated, we do have a culture of "I'll just look at dem CGs and rate my hype for the game" in the West.
