    Are you using gss-dev? That tool's outdated. I'm not even sure it would work on Win11. Maybe that's why you're getting errors. It's also possible it doesn't support the SystemNNN version of the game you're trying to use it on. I suggest you try VNTranslationTools instead.

    You're amazing!! That worked perfectly, the game is running through VNR and has no decryption problems, it's funny how despite my ability to read Japanese, when playing a Japanese game there are so many other barriers than that of the language difference. Hope you have a great 2023.

    My name is Hiromi-sama. I am a 27 year old Erogamer... is what I'd like to say, but I'm not that close yet to becoming a wizard.
    I started learning Japanese long before I had an idea what I was doing with my life. As a result, now I can read and listen most Japanese media with ease. Unfortunately, these days I mostly end up using my superior intellect to train my katana to 18禁 ASMR on DLsite. Just kidding, I usually squander my time acquiring rights to animated JPEGs of 2D girls on my mobile device (Arona-chan 😭 Izuna-chan uohh 😭😭 Yuuka-chan UOHH 😭😭😭).
    Jokes aside, these days my contact with VNs consists of mainly reading up on the new titles which come up every month. Though that's like seeing pictures of the menu at the local Italian restaurant without actually having the dish in front of you. My worldly desires keep growing and I'm barely keeping up with it. So I've decided recently to start changing course and make adjustments so that I could play more VN. Last Friday I managed to finish Kimagure Temptation after stalling for about half a year so I have grounds to be optimistic. A tomodachi of mine suggested that writing a blog might help with keeping account of my progress so here I am on Fuwanovel. I'm not very good with organization and schedule but I'll give my gambaribest.
    When I get my Japanese visa, I am moving to Chiyoda-ku to attend a prestigious academy to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a sugar daddy for a JC or an impoverished animator.

    The project isn't dead (it just smells funny )
    Today I pasted another few hundred japanese lines into Ren'py script, reaching 32% (or, near the end of 6th chapter).
    Also, for those interested, here's the comparison of various image versions, using the train station background as an example.
    1. Original 16 color version - this will be the default mode:

    2. "Enhanced" version from english-only "JAST Memorial edition" - it's just the original with some basic blur applied:

    3. My "256 color version" - made with few layers of blurring and re-sharpening - this will be used as an alternative graphic mode in my version:

     
    After I finish pasting Japanese text into Ren'py, I will have to solve two coding/engine problems. First will be smooth switching of soundtrack versions - current implementation requires restarting the game, and when loading a save, the music version will change only at the new track. And the second thing - which will be easy, but time consuming - will be to code grahpic mode switching.
    After all that is done, the "only" remaining thing will be adding English translation.

    For biggername titles, their translations are good. For shorter and less noteworthy VNs, it's a mixed bag. Nukige and similar suffer from some obvious QC and editing issues, but are nonetheless playable. If you're looking to grab biggername VNs from them, it should be fine. However, for titles not available on Steam, you may have trouble buying them directly through their own site. Some cards just don't work, and you have to go to Offgamers to buy coins (the currency their site uses).

    Big thanks to everyone who helped us along the way! Scripts are now 100% edited and currently being inserted into the game. 
    Please do buy the game if possible! It has been a long road due to time constraints and real life hurdles, but it has finally been completed. Don’t get your hopes up though, since I am the only person inserting the scripts manually as my editor (@mimosa) finally left after doing an exceptional job. Still, it may take a while for me to release it because of a stubborn personal reason. This would be my first and last visual novel project and I want it to be near perfect, free of bugs and errors, because I would never look back on this project again and that may leave you guys hanging. With that said, me and some testers I choose on discord will play the game thoroughly so that we would be free of those things. I cannot promise any dates since I only do this in my free time because of my work, but rest assured that it will be finished and we’ll have Kururu ease our hearts.

    Hey man. I actually worked on this game's translation for a while before real life fucked me. 
    Was actually curious because someone actually completing the game appeared, and I wanted to see what's up.
    After looking into stuff for a bit though I'm left with no choice but to make a post.
    You claim that you translated the entire base game and the fandisk "in a matter of weeks" working for 16 hours a day each day. Sorry, but this is impossible. No one, and I say no one, can work for 16 hours straight in translation for several days and not deliver a below par result. Also, honestly I can't believe that between the time you asked for the tools in another thread saying that "you were looking forward to translate this" exactly 2 months ago before releasing this https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/24092-help-working-with-a-bgi-game/ you were able to translate over 2 Million characters and over 100k lines of text.
    So yeah, I'm sorry to whoever was excited for this, but this 100% completion is entirely either machine translated or god knows fucking what. 
    As a last word, before anyone claims that idk what I'm talking about, I tried to fan translate this some years ago, one year of approximately daily 1.5-2h of work ended up with me having done only 20k lines out of the 80k lines of the MAIN GAME. I'm slower than your average fan translator, but I just simply can't believe someone is able to translate just the main game in less than a year, let alone in 2 months. No matter the amount of time you sink in each day. Take my words however you want, since I assume you'll want to release your stuff anyway. 
     
    PS: The main game has roughly 80k lines, fandisk no clue but definitely more than 20k. No one, I repeat, NO ONE, is able to even remotely come close to do more than 100k lines equivalent to what this game has in 2 months. We're talking about more than 1.5 MILLION CHARACTERS for just the first game ALONE. The fastest guy I know can pull off 1 M charas in a year btw, and he no lifes it 6-8 hours a day because he has infinite time.

    Sometimes this method of blurring and resharpening gives quite nice results - it's amazing, how much those algorithms can guess. Just look how nicely that moon in the upper-right corner turned out - original 16 color:

    I'm still experimenting with various ways of image processing to create "256 color" versions of in-game assets. Unfortunately the method I proposed in March isn't suitable for all images that can be found in this VN, so I had to think about something else. And I tried the method that involves applying various amounts of blur to different layers, re-sharpening them using GIMP's tools, mixing and blending them to taste, and in final step converting image to 256 color mode. I think I still prefer original, but it looks promising - and since it will be switchable, there should be no problem
    For comparison - original 16 color assets:

    At the very least, I think it looks better than Memorial Edition

    Aaand.......... the first proofreading phase is over Now off to the editing with it. I hope that @Plk_Lesiak makes something readable out of it
    And in the meantime I will continue coding Japanese version and editing images for "256 color mode"
