Playing Hanachirasu now, which I picked up during the black friday sale. Start is pretty cool with a ferocious ninja attack on a mansion in a dark and gritty setting.
Unfortunately the game already crashed on me, which made me painfully aware that I'm playing a Jast game. *sigh*
Well, I hope it doesn't happen too often...

English version of Schwarzesmarken situation looks like this:

There will be demo released on Steam, but after they finalize all, or almost all of Muv Luv kicstarter promises.
If there will be much interest and good sales for MuvLuv, there will be a full translation and release.

So, around 2019 Schwarzesmarken release looks reasonable.

Yeah I saw that and reacted the same way. Hnnng....
Then I noticed the "all-ages" tag on it, and my interest in the "story" died down a bit

    Think its this girl:

Parts of the game is already out in Japanese. Though, idk about the English version.

You can instantly jump to the next SSS or RAM prompt or unread line in Root Double by pressing R. Should make getting content you missed a lot easier. If you want to know what you need to do to avoid the three normal endings in Root D,
It's a shame if you didn't get all the character scenes in Root A and B though. They have plenty of additional characterization. Also, not getting them will make Root D's epilogue a lot shorter. As long as you use Answer Mode to directly select the branches you want and jump past read lines with R, getting them is very easy.

Besides Kanon, the legendary tearjerker in winter, Kara no Shoujo 2 also has a very strong winter theme.
    Edit: Ah, and Cartagra too.

Yes, but those had - what was the word again - ah yeah, a 'story'.

There's a bit more.  It picks up about a year or so after the disaster for the epilogue, and it also unlocks the Xtend content (which, as I said, I haven't looked at yet).

Eh, I also didn't see the fascination on volleyball. Or, rather, before watching Haikyuu I thought "how can people play and/or watch volleyball? Is there anything more boring?" Well, the author and studio really know how to make it friggin exciting xD It also helps that the characters are excellent, too.
Diamond no Ace is a bit more shounen-ish in spirit, but keeps it cool and real like Haikyuu with the actual sport and playing.

Oh geez, I didn't realize our official presence on this site had gotten this sparse. MKDude was the guy who was really keeping tabs on our various "PR" angles, but he also kind of fell off the face of the earth like that horde of editors I mentioned in that FaceBook post someone kindly copied over to this thread. If anyone wants a more reliable way to get in touch with us, I'm still watching the Facebook side of things pretty closely since I actually use that site and notifications will actually reach me for comments and messages. That being said, I'm probably going to work on getting notifications sent to me for this site as well so I can actually keep up with stuff here. Sorry again for the silence.

Nice review, I agree with a lot of points you brought up.
Though this one also seems to have problems with the background color. Not sure if it's my Chrome browser but the general background is dark grey, but half of the text has a black background. I guess it should be either all transparent or all black but not a mixture of both. Not a biggy though, just wanted to mention it.

That's not entirely correct, apparently it's okay to sell 18+ goods but not to offer them for free on the same site like free demos and such. That's the reason why MangaGamer weren't allowed to use PayPal - they would have been forced to remove all their adult demos, wallpapers, etc. and they didn't want that.
J-List allows payment with PayPal and they sell a lot of adult stuff. Not only import games but also English hard copies from Jast and MangaGamer.

You are aware that neither Daiteikoku nor Walkure Romanze have an English translation, right?! Just asking because everything else on your list is translated and I'm not sure if it was just an accident or you're also reading untranslated stuff.
Considering your original question: If depends on your mood.
If you're motivated to read some dark mystery, then Kara no Shoujo would be the way to go. If you want moe then If my Heart had Wings is a solid choice (I'd priorize Walkure if you read untranslated). For action go Ayakashibito and for lots of H with some gameplay try Beat Blades Haruka.

Finished the first chapter of Chusingura, but it did cost me a lot of willpower to do so, because it was a real snorefest.

Overall, the chapter was supposed be a complete heroine route, but instead it was just a gutted husk of a story whose lack of focus caused it to achieve nothing and that was far too funny for its own good. Well, it can't be helped I guess. The VN was probably never supposed to be a story VN in the first place and just intended as a simple goofige. Not my type of humour though. A real waste of time, but at least it had a clean ending so I can safely skip the other chapters.
Heroine ratings: Ichigaku > Don’t care
    Overall rating: 3 / 10
Wanted to give it a 4 / 10, but I subtracted a point because the translators were apparently not aware that titles in English are gender-aware, constantly addressing the girls with ‘Mr.’ or ‘he’. I'm fairly tolerant if it comes to translation, but not 'that' tolerant.

Touching and highly emotional would be Minori stuff like Eden or ef - a fairy tale of the two. Heard good things about Narcissu too, even if I didn't play it myself.

So, I've started to play Yoake Mae yori Ruri Iro na now, my first August game.
It's fairly old and probably just moege, but I like the moon theme. Which propably makes this my personal star gazer season of the year, with the Mirai Nostalgia I'm currently also reading in Japanese.
Well, to be precise, I had to make a little break from all the moe in Koiken Otome for a short time and watched two seasons of Dexter first. And now, several serial killers and dozens of victims later, I feel 'rejuvenated' again for more moe.

Well, it's still lower then early Sakura's games on Steam. For such famous and well-known even outside otaku crowd franchise it's pretty average numbers. And please don't compare these figures to the japanese sales. The VN's there sell strong every month with full price (~90$), while on Steam the biggest sale goes in the first couple of weeks.
It's a matter of fact that Steam miracle for visual novels, both Evns and Jvns, is gone now. That's why MG went from all-age lineup to entirely 18+. That's why SP remembered about Denpasoft and made a deal with Nutaku. It's a matter of money. And while all-age versions on Steam are still selling better then in companie's stores before the bubble, look at Flowers and Nurse Love Addiction numbers (1,552 and 2,587 respectively) or the tragedy of The Labyrinth of Grisaia (2,932).
I know, we can't really trust SteamSpy data, but I believe that the Steam buyers aren't very loyal or knowledgable. The first Grisaya game sold well because of anime, Princess Evangile and Nekopara both sold well because of Youtuber's, Yuri Ghosts sold well becuse of nudity precedent. In the end of the day, what's left is the core audience that could support pricy games if they have H-content. Everybody understand, so why Navel don't. Why is so hard to make all-age version and 18+ patch. It's not like Shuffle has some questionable content that could rise the storm among SJWs. Or maybe it's the first independent try of market for them to see how it'll go. I'm afraid they are too late.
