  1. For the last one the LN is still ongoing and pretty popular. I also think it's kinda different from the WN and that's why the author abandonned the WN.

EDIT: Took a peek at the WN, but it's completed apparently. Why do you say it isn't?

EDIT2: Looked at the LN, it must add a LOT because as of vol 9 it's still at the 4th chapter of the WN.

  2. Seeing as you're reading lot of (or rather, only) Isekai WN recently, I'd recommend: https://ncode.syosetu.com/n0089bk/

Beginning looks generic (minus some foreshadowing), but it quickly becomes something far more interesting and is one of, if not the best use of an Isekai setting I read.

Also, not Isekai, but recently read: https://ncode.syosetu.com/n9310bv/

I found it to be a pretty good read and it should be a nice breather in between two isekai novels.

EDIT: While I'm here, guess I can give a few others.

https://ncode.syosetu.com/n9350eg/ is pretty nice with a MC who isn't strong but can use his head well. (main story is finished)

https://ncode.syosetu.com/n2273dh/ if you want some laidback isekai where everything is peaceful. (main story is finished)

  3. I'm actually reading it right now. Just entered Kaja's route. I didn't know which order to go with, so just went with the order the choices give Kaja > Itsuki > Flow > Akira (also the order in which they appear at the end of the OP).

But looking at what you said, it might be better to have Akira before Itsuki if I want the most emotional last? Or continue with this order as Akira's route is about Tenchou and it continues in Last episode, so better read them one after the other?

Anyway, I'm doing other stuff on the side so i'm slower than usual, but I'm liking it so far. A shame Shouta is only partially voiced, though.

  4. I am of the same opinion. Only the part (main school) written by Takehaya is great and the partial patch should just be released for everyone to appreciate Miyabi's greatness. I loved her path and would give a 9 just for her. Unfortunately, the VN isn't only about her, which bring down the whole thing. Though I think most of the good reviews are people rating the good side of the VN instead of the bad.

By the way, while Miyabi's route and without question my favorite from the VN, I always give a special mention to Shino for saying one of the most romantic thing I have seen in a H scene.

EDIT: Wait, just noticed you linked me in the critical reviews. lol

  5. I'd say that before all that, the first step should just be to get used to the language.

At first most people (if not everyone) have to "force themselves" to read Japanese because they won't automatically recognise what's written just like how we recognise instinctively what's written in our language. For example if "Example" appeared for a really, really brief instant, most people with an alphabet based language would be able to read/comprehend it, but woulnd't be able to instantly connect the dots with "例え" or whatever. (well, that one is simple, but we're talking about longer sentences)

So yeah, I think the first step is simply getting used to read the language until you brain can automatically and instinctively connect the dots for immediate comprehension. And while doing that you actually does what you said in your post at the same time.

The fighting (which is 50%> of the game in my opinion) ...

From the stats, I passed 5 hours and half in battle on my 70 hours and half playthrough. 20 hours in the menus, so around 45 hours running on the field + story.

Fighting is lightning fast in this game with most battles being around 20 seconds, so yeah, unless you grind like mad the gameplay is a little part of the game.

  7. Arrived to Japan, it's damn hot and humid, it's horrible!

My residence isn't that great, but will do. Was lost with all the papers and the fatigue. To bo honest, the next few days are going to be hectic. Also I don't have internet, that when having shared rooms help: roommate has the wifi and share with me. But I don't have a transformer for my laptop and everything, so will have to buy one tomorrow.

Anyway, I really hope I'll be able to adapt quickly. Will be horrible for the next few days, but should be better later.

Also, nobody speaks neither French (logic) nor English, so we have to speak in Japanese, and it's very difficult to make understand one self.

Sorry to post here and all, just wanted to post it as an answer to your post, I guess. And sorry for the mistakes, writing quickly to not use too much of my laptop battery.

  8. I'm actually going to Japan to study starting from next week for a duration of one year, so it was interesting to read.

And the bugs. They are some weird mutated monsters summoned from hell. Like, holy crap. Some of the wasps/ bees here are bigger than my finger, and the Cicadas and other bugs of that size look like they could literally eat me. There is also one huge ass spider living outside our apartments, and I am personally convinced he will some day grow large enough to take over Japan and rule as the new emperor.

    I don't want to go anymore. T_T

Well, more seriously, I hope I'll adapt more easily than you for the food.

Waiting for the good stuff now.

PS: Dumb question, but did you change your browsing habits or take a VPN? Decided I won't download there to be sure, but I want to at least be able to browse in peace without fear. ^^'

  9. As a fan of the Ace Attorney series, I've been interested in this VN, so this review confirms that I have to play it! I tried the trial quickly to see what was hookable and what wasn't. Unfortunately, the proofs, information and profils, as well as choices (well, sometimes the first one is hooked) aren't hookable. I can more or less understand what's written when it's not hooked, but can't go too far with the only 600~ kanji I know. So yeah, I guess I'll wait before reading it.

Ah, but, it's because I want a more complete experience, so people who don't care about reading what's written on the proofs/choices/etc can still read/play it, as you get what it's about when they talk, and you get as much chances as you want to present proofs. Also, the sentences are shorts and easy to understand (didn't read much, want to preserve the experience for later), so if you're interested (and a Ace Attorney fan), go for it!

Yeah, he isn't voiced.  Honestly, I wish he was... but, given that this is an Akatsuki Works game, if there is demand and the VN sells well, they might make a voice patch later.  It happened with Ruitomo.

The easiest?  Probably Ruitomo or this one.  If you want something a bit more action-focused, Hello Lady is manageable, though the action scenes and Narita Shinri's manner of speaking (his deliberate choice of roundabout phrasing) might cause you trouble.  I'd also recommend Izuna Zanshinken or Yurikago Kara Tenshi Made for action types (both by Akatsuki Works Black).  Both are pretty bloody, lol.

If you want to challenge yourself, just break down and play Devils Devel Concept.  You'll be able to tell how much your Japanese skill grows by how much more you understand on later playthroughs (I did, lol).

    Let's hope there will.

Then I guess I'll start with Ruitomo. Well, not now, still have thing to do. Most likely this summer.

Don't really want to try DDC now, would be a shame to not understand everything given how it's praised.

  11. And another Akatsuki Works VN added to the backlog. Perhaps I should really try reading one instead of thinking I should wait to have a better Japanese. Which one is the easiest?

Also, it's not on VNDB, or this time the protagonist isn't voiced?
