Reading Ginharu Very Slowly #19

Bet you thought this blog was long dead? Unfortunately not. Now that the translation project seems to be dead in the water, I've decided it's time to finish this VN and bring this blog back.  My Japanese powers have doubled since the last time I read this in Japanese, so it's actually going a lot smoother this time around. It's also nice that DeepL exists now, it's incredibly helpful when I'm having trouble figuring out what the hell they're trying to say in some convoluted sentence or something

Reading Tsukikana Very Slowly #1

If you thought that I was actually going to finish something I'd started before moving on to something else, then you don't know me very well. So here I am playing Tsukikana instead of Ginharu!

Reading Ginharu Very Slowly #14

I've gotta live up to the name of the blog, ya know? Actually I recently found about about the Hoshi Ori patch that's being worked on right now, and that made me want to revisit Ginharu. I was considering just reading it on my own without updating the blog but that felt wrong. I'll probably end up disappearing for another year after a few entries, but we'll see. In the meantime, I'll probably have fewer screenshots and more summarization because I'm lazy. Also it turns out that I never

Haven't read much last week, hopefully I can rectify that this week More broadcast club stuff happens but nothing particularly exciting, the gang ends up going to the skating rink

Skip to February and it's time for Bethly to go back to Canada And now it's literally a year later, Valentine's day the next year. A few days later everyone's preparing for a party but nobody tells Yukito what it's about A few weeks later

After much deliberation, we get Bethly's answer! Later that day Yukito talks to his dad and step-mom Skip to the end of the year This seems like a pretty good stopping point for now :^)

Reading Ginharu Very Slowly #7

This post is from all the reading I've done over the weekend, so there's a lot of stuff here Not much else happens over the summer, Bethly goes back to Canada for a while and she and Yukito send each other snail mail. Once summer break is over, they go back to doing their "one-room classroom" thing. Eventually everyone ends up looking at Bethly's sketchbook and Hina notices something A few time skips later, without a ton of particularly notable events, and it's winter again. T

So since I'm finally reading again and actually made a post, might as well keep doing this. I'm probably not going to be as detailed as before because lazy and because I read a bit faster now than I did 8 months ago. So it's now summer, and someone needs to clean the pool. Our valiant protag-kun volunteers, but all the other students cleaning the pool are there as punishment for being late... or at least they would have been had they not all managed to escape, leaving poor MC to do all the

I wasn't really going to keep doing this blog, I got super busy with school last year so I barely read any Ginharu since, and finding the right moment to screenshot can be annoying... but I just had to capture poor Momiji getting fucking rekt. Thankfully everyone reconsiders after hearing Momiji's super dramatic reading. Later Hina addresses something that's been bugging me as well. And finally...

Been busy this week, didn't get to read as much, took a bunch of screenshots though! Bethly came to school the next day, all healthy and less depressed. The one-room classroom had its first meeting, and it basically consisted of Yukito, the 5 grills and Momo-chan-sensei as the teacher. Since the topic was "My favourite thing" and Yukito was first, he gave a speech about how the local mountaintop was his favourite thing, and everyone liked it so much they decided they wanted to go the

According to a program I made, I've played 20 hours of Ginharu as of the end of this post, so I decided to see how far in I am. I timed how long it takes to ctrl from the start to where I am, and then how long it takes to ctrl from where I am to where the OP movie plays, and it seems I only need to play about 15 more hours until the prologue (dunno if you can really call it that in this case, but whatever) ends. Hurray for terrible terrible reading speed! Quite a bit happened since we last

There's something about VNs with snowy settings (Kanon, DCII, hell, even Yukizakura to some extent) that greatly appeals to me. Hard to say why, but regardless Gin'haru just happens to be a VN with a lot of winter themes, which is great. Also I really like all of the characters. If I wasn't completely biased towards Bethly, I'd have a hard time deciding whose route to do first. The events from my previous post all took place on the first day, and pretty much spanned the entire day. Basicall

I decided that in order to keep track of what I've read, I'm going to write short summaries of what happened in Ginharu. I figured I might as well post them here, someone might find them interesting, and others might flame me for reading SoL garbage. Since I'm a Japanese noob, the reading will be very slow and probably very inaccurate, but it's better than waiting for the TL (ETA 50,000 years). I've read a little bit before today, so here's all that basically happened: Protag's step-mom tak
