  1. Mmmm, I am not sure this is completely fair. Recently I've noticed that for me personally there is a certain "uncanny valley" when it comes to quality of writing. Simply speaking, when you read a disastrously terrible translation with lots of mistakes and completely incomprehensible sentences, you notice that and not how bad the actual writing is. Yeah, sure, a good native editor won't solve all problems. A translation can't be good if an editor can't understand the original text he/she is working with. Also, it should be obvious, but the translator should actially understand Japanese.
  2. This, plus some random gaming forum I found in my native language which had a thread dedicated to VNs. Well, Fuwa is not ideal, I recall at least several somewhat toxic conversation in the past, but I really don't remember it going to that lengths.
  3. I tried to browse through some other VN communities today, and I realized that I totally forgot how toxic some of them can be. Jeez.
  4. Good luck! Don't let the complications discourage you. You've already started working on your problems, and this is not something that everybody is able to do.
  5. Yeah, probably. I feel like it actually happens a lot lately.
  6. I see. Thanks for your reply! And it's kind of a shame cause I really wanted to like this VN.
  7. Yeah, clearly an informative answer. Lol. I'm mostly asking it because I didn't like it moege-ness so much that it kind of broke the later parts of the game for me. Just wanted to know your opinion since you seem to have enjoyed this VN.
  8. By the way, on a more serious note, what do you think about the first chapter of Himawari?
  9. I also think Grisaia fits most of your requirements. Then why haven't you finished SubaHibi yet? Other than that, you requirements are a bit broad. And since you haven't read that many VNs yet, then maybe try to look through top-20 highest rated VNs on VNDB and pick up something you find interesting.
  10. They make a lot of poor decisions that irritate people, and don't respond to criticism, I guess? Well, I agree that they bring a lot of great games, but I don't think that's the problem here.
  11. Yeah, sounds logical. And, according to vndb, in Divinity Stage the heroines aren't even technically high-school students, so it's probably not that. What happened to Shiny Days?
  12. I'd say it would be rude if it wasn't so accurate. Huh, quite an interesting profession you have there. Anyway, welcome to Fuwa! I hope, you'll enjoy your time here.
  13. It's just an hypothesis, but perhaps they don't want to deal with other countries' ambiguous child porn laws? I know, there are a lot of eroge releasing companies, but I see why some people may be cautious.
  14. Hello! Welcome to Fuwanovel! Enjoy your lurking time here.
  15. You know, I am not exactly sure how representative of the overall VN-reading community Fuwa is. It's true that people talk about non-Japanese VNs much less here, but does this necessarily mean that they are less popular? There are a lot of cheap and accessible VNs on Steam, and a lot of people play them. Also, there is DDLC.
  16. The only thing I can say for sure is that all of these companies will die one day. In this world, anything can happen, and if you are a small business, you can go down pretty quickly. Other than that, I don't know. I hope that there will always be enough high-quality releases to satisfy the community's needs, and that their overall percentage will increase.
