  1. Going off your list I would agree with others with my top recommendation being Kara No Shoujo. The Infinity series and Critical Point are some other options, mainly going off all the sci-fi. If Clannad is what you are considering "realistic" then you could try all the other Key games, Kana Little Sister, Family Project, Kirakira (Kirari's route as others said), or Da Capo.

I agree with others that the "veterans required" tag was unnecessarily elitist, your story request was pretty standard and the request for art following specific color schemes for specific themes isn't something even "veterans" would typically remember. What confuses me about your request is that if you are wanting VNs to study because of interest in style, I can't see why you're focusing on color or these specific color themes. They don't do anything different, and I'd say photographs and finished paintings would make considerably better references for color than VN CG. Also I wouldn't even interpret many of your examples to be using the color schemes your asking for to convey the themes you're assigning to them. Music theme: KiraKira and Deardrops - Punk rock / Rock and roll themed adventures. The soundtracks are really enjoyable. There's other spinoffs and sequels that are also rock themed but I wouldn't recommend them. Symphonic rain, quartett!, White Album Art theme: Katawa Shoujo - Main route isn't art focused, but one of the heroines is an artists and her route focuses almost entirely on her development as an artist and interacting with a fine arts community.   3. There's a free OELVN, Home Invasion (they're changing the name soon), that sounds like what you're looking for. MC is using hypnotic music to corrupt his all female family with the plot of sex, but since the hypnosis isn't that strong he has to take things slow. Thing is, it is WIP so there is only the small stuff included in the current demos, the closest thing to sex is mutual masturbation.
  4. Well Cross+Channel has a girl i'd definitely call kuudere but the plot isn't centered around romance and she might have a bit of yandere mixed in. Never7 has a kuudere but isn't pron if that's what you're looking for. Shuffle! (+the sequel i'd expect) and Wanko to Kurasou have kuudere but they're pretty shallow usages of the trope.

  6. Earphones are no big deal, as you'd be an idiot to spend any large amount of money on them. The only time I ever used them was when I was in school or at a job where wearing them was possible, it happened all the time but I always used it as an excuse to have one ear open which I should have been doing usually in those situations anyways. Now when something goes out in one of my $50-300 headphones that's when I rage.
  7. People saying "modders don't deserve money" are being way too general about it. The people making mods the quality of what Valve is immediately trying to flagship at 4-5.99 don't deserve money.
  8. I feel the concept of mods being developed for money is a good thing, but the way Valve has gone about implementing it and the way they think they are going to manage it is entirely wrong. Paying for mods could lead to more professional approaches taken to modding, more interest in modding, and more high-quality mods being made, but already on launch day 90% of the mods released are things most people wouldn't even bother downloading free unless they were in some large modpack, and those mods that people actually use are stupidly overpriced. Valve announced this in the stupidest way possible, and that has killed pretty much any chance of it being a thing. Beyond this launch, I don't think valve would be capable of running a good pay-for-mods market in the first place. This concept succeeding would require those running it to give a fuck, and valve gives no fucks whatsoever.

At first sight I thought it might be an interesting concept that might lead to increased quality in mods, but then I checked the page and saw them listing unchanged, old mods for higher prices than what the game itself is available for right now. We accept instability, poor/lazy design, or simple lack of polish from mods because they are free projects, but these unpolished mods (Which I've used before) that add more spells or one NPC to a 3.5 year old game being priced higher than many indie games or even the game they are modding is just idiotic.
  10. Thank god for Jim Sterling? Thank god for pretty much any game-vlog maker ever, because pretty much every game-vlogger or journalist has been constantly bashing the concept of DLC for years now. The AAA gaming industry is shitty. DLC beyond expansions is silly. Games that exploit DLC or pay-to-win tactics are rarely anything but garbage in the first place, so the concept doesn't directly effect me all that much.
  11. Who besides spammers would be actively trying to use a DRM's features/forums without having actually bought anything with it? All the limitations listed there are reasonable, and the only way it might limit people who just installed steam for games like DOTA is that they would no longer be able to send friend invites, which isn't that big of a deal when you are playing a game without actually supporting it.
  12. I remember the first time I finished a VN in one sitting was with Song of Saya. Nowadays I finish them in one sitting pretty often. First off you've got short games that are easy to finish in one sitting, but also I wouldn't be able to wade through the nonsense of moege and nukige without skipping the scenes that pretty much every moege/nukige of a similar genre contains. With that I usually finish those sorts of games in one sitting.
  13. Rayman and Jak and Daxter were greatness. Another one I can't believe I forgot to put on my initial list is Sly Cooper. I played the shit out of Sly 1 and 2 as a kid.
  14. Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Banjo Kazooie/DK64/Conker (I don't think I ever actually played Mario64 until I was a teen), Mario Kart, Smash, OoT, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker, just about any GBA game worth its salt, Pokemanz, and Starcraft.

Characters not knowing eachother goes against the standard VN formula of having a common route featuring scenes with all girls and then a romance route for each girl, so you can't really find them in VNs following that formula. Easiest to find in dating sims or VNs where romance isn't the focus. True Love, May Club, and Koisuru Oukoku would be some suggestions for dating sims.
  17. This is the correct section of the forum. He is asking for VNs with animation, not VNs with anime adaptations. If by good ending you mean ending filled with sex, then yes. It's a linear nukige. I loved the way they handled animation in this, but it also contains a lot of long shots of furniture and buildings with nothing going on. It progresses very slowly, even if you are skipping text, because the long shots of building and furniture are unskipable and repeat constantly with every scene. The story is meh, but Schooldays quality at least; it begins with an H-scene with the mother, then there's a long period of meh plot which progresses very slowly because of the furniture shots, then the H-scenes start rolling in. That's the only other heavily-animated VN I've played apart for Schooldays. Since you're apparently good with reading untranslated works, you could try Overflow's other works: Summer Days, Cross Days, and Shiny Days. I haven't played any of them, but I'd assume they follow the same formula as School Days.
  18. As others have said Utawarerumono is not remotely lighthearted. It was pretty weird seeing it compared to Edelweiss and Deardrops, as it is not at all similar to them. It is a good read and has gameplay. Edelweiss would be the most lighthearted of the three you listed. Overall it is pretty meh, but about the same quality as any other standard SoL harem story, so I wouldn't bother suggesting any others to you if you're already interested in that one. Deardrops is good, but I would suggest reading KiraKira first and Kirakira gets dramatic at times.
  19. I ended up getting it. Stupidly, I chose not to pre-order a game I knew I was going to buy launch-day, so I didn't get the free million bonus. Played online a bit last night, seemed that all that was really going on was people who imported their characters running around with high-level weapons killing everyone else who only have access to the pistol. Haven't really looked into using the social club, but if a fuwanovel crew gets formed I might join.
  20. Deardrops doesn't compare to Kirakira, but on its own it is an OK read and leagues above that pile of shit Curtain Call. Realistic isn't the first word that comes to my mind when describing Swan Song or KiraKira. Kirakira's plot is centered around a dude crossdressing to take part in an all-girl rock band. All but one of the heroines routes is happy adventuring, but that one heroine's routes get a lot darker than you might expect.

    Titan Souls

    Game is out, and yeah it is about as disappointing as I was expecting. 7 bosses in (Out of the game's advertised 18 bosses) after a 40 minute play session, 10 minutes spent beating the 3 bosses from the demo and 30 spent beating the next four. I've decided to stop there for today, simply because I am more interested in playing... certain other games right now. Graphics: Minimalist pixel-art. Environmental art is as good as top-down, low-pixel art can get. Bosses look good, but out of the 7 i have seen 6 followed designs from other games to a T, and the only original one was noticeably the worst looking so far. Audio: Soundtrack is probably this game's strong suit Story: There is none, you're some kid who randomly spawns and is capable of one-shotting creatures much bigger than you. You run around murdering random titans because that is apparently the only way to open doors in this world. Gameplay: Controls are simple, you run around and fire/retrieve a single arrow, you have one shot to make with each boss which will either kill them or progress to their next phase. All bosses I have encountered so far follow, in some form or another, the "head towards the player. if they touch you, you die" architecture. Pretty much all of the game's difficulty comes from how awkward it is to make the shots you need, and it is pretty sad that I was feeling frustrated by the mechanics of the game after a 40 minute play session where I was making constant progress. The laziness of the boss design has been the most disappointing aspect of this game for me, considering it is a game all about bosses. If you're considering buying the game, definitely try the demo first and only buy it if you consider a game that will have 6 times as much content and little replay value worth $15.
