  1. Umm, your link steamsignatures is different from steamsignature. The second one is what you guys have been using. Anyway... also I can't find any way to see the raw html/bbcode of a post, really makes editing hard sometimes
  2. ^I imagine that will change once the full tl patch is out
  3. There is a place where it's still up and probably will be for a while: http://www.visual-test.fr/hebergement_temporaire.php . I've added this link to my first post.
  4. ^It might not be talked about that much, but it's #46 in popularity and #17 in rating on vndb. Well, vndb isn't everything I guess, but it's pretty much the only real statistical site...
  5. Dandy Girl (DL here http://www.visual-test.fr/hebergement_temporaire.php) LEAVEs Uhh, I'm too lazy to really say much more. Also Analogue has a lot of shit/ragevoting on vndb imo, but it still has a decent vote distribution if not bayesian rating, so there is that.
  6. The main (potantial) difference is that you only write it down once per review (or only once, while learning it. Not sure about this anymore...).
  7. I believe part of it is that VA you don't quite understand sometimes sounds better for whatever reason. It's not necessarily that the japanese VA is any better than english (though to be honest... it probably is), but that that exotic factor or w/e makes you consider it better. Also en dub homura > jap homura
  8. ^ Just because the english VA you've heard has sucked doesn't mean all VA will suck
  9. Did some more attempts to get unhack to work on an android tablet. Massive failure, even when I used a bluetooth mouse to click. The problem isn't touch; I think it might just be poor html5 support (apparently this is endemic to mobile browsers?). Tried both chrome and firefox. Used an addon to disable doubletap zoom in firefox too, did not help. Sound doesn't play either :s
  10. Well, learning 34 kanji tends to take me about 40 mins to an hour - I put a lot of effort into my story memorization and am usually a bit mentally tired after that. Reviews are usually 30-50min as I do one card per 25s while reviewing (and generally have a few fails). In general I would advise splitting up reviewing the old kanji and learning + reviewing the new into different sessions if possible. It's also possible that we're just more mentally suited to it
  11. This is funny, this was way harder than previous eps but I only lost 4 lives in total before beating it Oo. I think part of why I died before was impatience, I guess. Well, if I can beat it with my rather hard-to-aim mouse, I guess it's possible for a decent few. I liked the gameplay, not sure if the story is quite as good as previously though. Bit too short, maybe? :s. Could also be a natural consequence of having to very the story's intensity level, but I feel somehow disconnected from the danger posed by the main threat. It needs to get more personal, maybe by showing some kind of visual corruption in the level's design? Apart from that, in the final battle I had a split-second lag spike; everything else has been smooth so far. Maybe this is just the framework really really sucking, but I mean I have a quad core sandy bridge i5 and a still-decent graphic card, this shit shouldn't really happen. Could have been unrelated to the game and just the OS skipping a beat in general, I guess.
  12. Virtue's Last Reward has full English VA in the north american version, says WIkipedia: "The game contains full voice acting (English and Japanese in the North American version and only Japanese in the Japanese and European versions).
  13. I haven't read catcher in the rye (interestingly enough not required for my English courses, not that we didn't read other classics). I have to say though, I don't think Hisao sees himself as healthier than the other students. That's just nitpicking though, your analysis might actually be valid... for act one. The themes you mention do somewhat run through the vn in a few character routes, but mostly they are focused on the actual relationship with your chosen girl and the unique problems that have to be resolved for it to work out.
  14. Jackie would be jack + the ey from "key". Jacky would be Jack + the y from "many" (now that was a random word).
  15. ^They aren't pronounced quite the same though
  16. Well, Jackie is the feminine version really.
  17. I generally don't remember voices well enough to recognize them across different games. Performance tends to be inconsistent anyway, really. That doesn't mean I don't care about voice performance though, it can make or break a vn. That said, I have I feeling I will never forget Kotori's heartfelt "Gome ne, Kotarou-kun" in Rewrite.
  18. ^ Well, both of those options are illegal in some way, probably. It might be difficult to re-add scenes that have been cut as well unless the game gets a good hack. Conventional wisdom applies: keep it down low if possible, and if you get a C&D go underground. Shouldn't really be harder than that, and patches are practically impossible to stop once they get distributed.
  19. I generally feel it hurts immersion a lot to not have the vn fullscreen. I have a 1366x788 or something screen on my faptop, so the stretching isn't hugely noticeable. That said, I greatly prefer for the game to preserve its aspect ratio and use black borders.
  20. I'll just lazily copy this from vndb... well it didnt actually copy that well: 9.5 Ever17 -the out of infinity- 9.3 Rewrite 9 G-senjou no Maou 9 Kyokugen Dasshutsu 9-Jikan 9-Nin 9 no Tobira 8.8 Fate/stay night 8.6 Deardrops 8.5 Clannad 8.5 Saya no Uta 8.5 Tsukihime 8.2 Kira☆Kira 8.2 Symphonic Rain 8 Kanon 8 Katawa Shoujo 8 Leaves 8 Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o: Anata to Koibito Tsunagi 8 Swan Song 8 The Best Eroge Ever 8 The Dandelion Girl 8 Tsuki no Terasu Those are all my 8+ votes on vndb right now... 18 of them, apparently. I might be easy to please
  21. These days, since I have type onesies diabeetus, I should really avoid sugary drinks. Thus, my new passion has become Coke Light. WIth that said I tend to have a lunch consisting of crisps (only salted, flavourings ruin the taste with their frankly grotesque impurity and oversimplicity), one of the cheesy products available 'round here, or chocolate. Or both. Usually I break the chocolate up into small squares to I can just pick them up easily, otherwise there isn't really much to do. Of course, ifI really get into a vn I might forget to eat and stuffs. I can't say I give a major fuck about my health lol. Dinner tends to be aight however
  22. When it comes to replaying things, I am skeptical of the concept in general. I couldn't vote #3 as I haven't given anything a score of 10/10 yet, and a good deal of the vns I have played have a rating around 8 on vndb so yeah. When it comes to re-experiencing a vn, there are a few reasons I'd consider: Journey: There's actually a book I have re-read a fuckload of times, it's by Terry Pratchett and about Australian stereotypes and random stuff. It's comedy, and knowing the basic plot doesn't mean that I remember all the jokes; thus it's quite worth it. Memory: Sometimes I read through vns when I am very tired, and somewhat miss out on or at least can't recall afterward the details of what I read. Yeah, I don't really like it either. Analysis: Sometimes, I feel it's worth to re-read a route to analyze it more (did this with Hanako in KS actually, maybe I should do Rin one day when I feel like self-mutilation). Thinking of that, Fal in Symphonic Rain was a really interesting character, maybe I should give her the same treatment. I think I'll re-read some of CLANNAD (but not afterstory) once the new TL comes out (god knows when it will given that tomoyo after memorial isn't even out yet), I can't remember some of the side-routes that well. Otherwise, well, I still have a few vns I haven't read to go through before that .
  23. I agree on having a backlog somehow. Or the messages shown changing back to what they were if you walk backwards, depending on the layout...
