  1. I had something similar happen to be a while back. As I was browsing TPB, suddenly something covering my whole screen appeared saying that my PC had been locked by Canadian secret services and that I should send them 100$ via a very specific brand of prepaid credit cards if I didn't want charges pressed against me and to unlock my PC. Needless to say, after the initial panic of seeing the FBI and GRC logos, I turned off my PC, did some research on the web using my 3DS' browser, unplugged the internet from my PC, turned it on in safe mode, did a torough cleanup and never ran into that problem since. I admit I got a little scared at first though.
  2. Kill La Kill and Gingitsune are definitely my favorites this season so far, I'm really enjoying both of them. A friend also told me I should watch Non Non Biyori if I like slice of life, it's supposed to be pretty good. I'm a little disapointed by LB! Refrain being only 13 episodes, but I'm still hoping it'll be good anyway.
  3. I'm still only up to chapter 3 of Season 1. >_>;; Glad to see it's ready for when I get there though, I'm enjoying this one so far.
  4. I actualy started re-watching Hyouka yesterday as I recently downloaded the BDs. For some reason I remember having enjoyed it the first time, but don't remember much as to what went on with the plot. I'm really enjoying the eye candy one my living room's big screen though. I'm almost done with season two of K-On!. Up to episode 22 before I fell asleep on the couch. One of my friends really psyched me about watching the movie.
  5. Cromartie High School, now that's one manly comedy show. (Though I'm sure you've seen it.) Saint Onii-san, two pretty funny OVAs. Yondemasuyo Azazel-san, Trigun, Rune Soldier Louie, Slayers. Just a few that come to mind.
  6. This might be stupid idea and totally not work, but we'll see how this turns out hehe. Batman as Conan the Barbarian. (inspired by the 1982 movie featuring Arnold Scharzenegger.) ---------- Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Batman, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure! He was but a child at the time. His name was Bruce Wayne then. His father was telling him about Crom and the power of the bat. "Fire and wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky, but Crom is your god. Crom, and he lives in the earth. Once giants lived in the earth, Bruce, and in the darkness of chaos, they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of the Bat. Crom was angered, and the earth shook, and fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters. But in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of the Bat and left it on the battlefield, and we who found it. We are just men, not gods, not giants, just men. And the secret of the bat has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Bruce, you must learn its discipline, for no one, no one in this world can you trust, not men, not women, not beasts... This you can trust. --" Bruce's father was pointing at a batarang. Shortly after, Bruce's village was attacked by Thulsa Doom and his army, killing all, but taking children as slaves. Bruce had to watch as Thulsa Doom himself picked up his mother's batarang and killed her with it. Bruce was then led to a place where he was tied to a large poll with other slaves and made to push a large wooden handle, turning around the poll. It was hard labor, strenghtening Bruce's body as he eventualy was the last one left turning the wheel. After that he was thrown into the arena, where he triumphed with his natural abilities. He was then taught the ways of battle by a foreign master and one day he was released, thrown into the wild with his chains still on. As he was running away from wolves, he came upon a dark cave in the cliffs. As his eyes were adjusting to the darkness, he stumbled upon something. It seemd like an old skeleton in a batlike suit, laid on a throne, with a batarang in his hand, covered in a thick layer of dust. Bruce had remembered. This was the power of Crom, the way of the Bat. He would use the ancient ways of his people, and prowl the night like a bat to get his revenge on Thulsa Doom. He would now be Batman. Batman had many adventures after that, teaming up with his sidekick Subotai the archer thief and later sneaking in one of Thulsa Doom's serpent temples along with the blond warrior thief Valeria, of whom he became enamored. It was then that King Osric contacted the Batman and his companions. He offered them as much gold as they could ever dream off, in exchange for rescuing his daughter, who he suspected was being brainwashed to kill him by the cult of Thulsa Doom. Batman used an advance on the gold to construct a batcave in the cliffs, which he would use as his base of operations. He preferred working alone on this mission, favoring stealth. None of the evil wizard's minions saw the Batman as he snuck into their fortress, took out Thulsa Doom from behind, and stealthily went back out with the unconscious princess.
  7. Yup, everything was translated in the version I played as well. Have a good read! Always nice to see someone else giving a shot at the game.
  8. I love classical music, and I love this guy's guitar playing. From the same guy as the Faxanadu cover. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRGnZ_pw00k
  9. solidbatman's recent contest gave me a bit of Hyouka nostalgia as I was thinking up one of my entries.
  10. I usualy go to one of my friends' thematic party, but this year I'll be at work. I usualy like making my own costumes and dressing up. Last year I went as The Sandman, since the theme was comic book characters. Year before that I was Fred Flintstone IIRC.
  11. Faxanadu had some great music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFth-x99hD0
  12. I wish they did a figure of Chitanda Eru in her school uniform. Though I'm almost tempted to get this one while it's still available for preorder. (The Beach Queens one is kinda boring and the KyoAni one has skyrocketed in price.) I think I'll probably end up passing on it though. I've been wanting something a little sexier than the Nendoroids I have, but I also need to remember I placed a preorder on Rikka already. >_>;;
  13. I think I had the same reaction, I could feel a shiver down my spine. I avoided saying anything along with the video to preserve the "surprise" factor. Those sound effects...
  14. I own Jeanne D'Arc as well, one of Level 5's better games IMO. Both the gameplay and visuals were pretty solid from what I remember. I still need to finish it though. >_>;; I played the Ace Attorney demo on 3DS. This looks like something I should enjoy, I will most likely buy the game at some point. I must admit the only other AA game I had played was the WiiWare version of the first one.
  15. Just saw this Pupa trailer :
  16. I was under the impression Space Bros was popular, bur whatever. I got near 30 episdoes or so a while back, but I recently decided to start over watching it. Back to episode 4 now. I have the ROD OVA on DVD from Manga Entertainment, though I haven't watched the TV series. It was ok I guess, nothing too memorable, I haven't watched it in years. There were also ads for Galaxy Angel in my old FLCL dvds, but I've never actualy watched the show. Some shows that I think were popular in my days, but don't really hear much about anymore : Romeo's Blue Skies, Wolf's Rain, Risky Safety, DNA2, Gunnm, Hand Maid May, Photon, Tenshi ni Narumon!, Master Keaton, Yawara!, Key the Metal Idol. A bit more recent : Tower of Druaga, Thermae Romae(I really loved that show, even bought the french edition of the manga)
  17. I'm just taking a guess here, but I'm expecting the EX episodes to be OVA for the BDs for something like that. Kinda like the Kyou and Tomoyo special episodes for Clannad.
  18. Yeah, I already had it in my earlier youtube "likes". A very good cover indeed! Once I start clicking on related videos, I usualy can't stop until I realise I've been doing it for way too long.
  19. I finished K-On! season 1 and moved on to season 2. I always thought the K-On! girls looked very cute, among the cutest and most moe I had seen, but had always dismissed the show as something I couldn't possibly enjoy. How wrong I was. I think I have yet to encounter an episode that really bored me. I like all the characters on the show, though I have a soft spot for Mio and Azunyan is cute as a button. Other than that, while I was waiting for the K-On!! episodes after finishing season 1, I started Hanasaku Iroha on Crunchyroll.(with the two weeks trial) I had often heard about how good it was on here, but I confess I wasn't expecting to be so impressed. I also started over on Space Brothers and caught up on most of this season's weekly shows that I'm watching. Kill La Kill turns out to be the better of those I was hyped for, Kyoukai no Kanata I'm keeping hope for the long run, and I'm eager for Gingitsune 3 to be out.

  21. Trying to sum it up in four points : 1. It manages a wide range of emotions, it makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it makes me feel like my inner self has grown a bit in the process. 2. Attractive, varied and surprisingly deep heroines. Heroines that make you want to play their route as soon as you first meet them, making the choice of who to go for first all the harder, and then completely surprising you by having a story way deeper than you first imagined from them. (of course that is following the concept of "dating sim" type VNs, I enjoy other VNs as well) 3. Gorgeous and original graphics. Yes, eye candy is fun while playing a VN, and artwork that both stands out from the norm and looks good always helps pulling me into the game. 4. Good music that conveys the emotions of the scene. If you were to add gameplay, then something like the Little Busters! minigames would be something I enjoyed, but idealy for a VN I guess I'd choose without gameplay. SRPG gameplay like Utawarerumono or even Sengoku Rance is fun too, but detracts a bit from the VN experience IMO.
  22. Listening to Youtube covers once again! Xenogears nostalgia : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eE0z0LCUMo&list=LLts3V7ltHTZuj_iET8uZO1g
