  1. GnK1 uses different engine than other Eushully games, and it can be easily hacked with Artmoney or CheatEngine, there's no encoding or anti-cheating mechanisms. As for time limit, dunno, there's no stuff to do between story battles anyway. Only thing which I found really damn annoying — lack of any indication whether there's event at location or not. And if you miss some events, you get non-canon evil route.
  2. Sure GnK1 is not good game, but "novellization" is outright worse. They just chopped GnK1 art into retarded small pieces and then joined ADV-parts together into NVL form.Hacking levels of units and turns is much wiser solution, at least you get full CGs and tachies.
  3. Well, Demon Master Chris is dungeon crawling game which uses RenPy, for example. There's plenty of other gameplay-heavy VNs which use it as well.
  4. You can. RenPy is just Python with some sugar above, and Python is powerful enough to be core of EVE Online. But yeah, that's a lot of work, almost same amount as creating new game from scratch, and no real point in doing it all when VN is already released as Windows program. For stuff like PS3/PS4/XBone games it might make sense, but even then it would require hacking game assets and would be easier to port VN part automatically, dropping gameplay elements. Porting gameplay from consoles, obviously, is near-impossible for fan team.
  5. Yeah, I doubt there ever will be re-release of side-stories. Anyway, there's like 4 projects in work for ML-verse already, so we will not see anything in this direction for a while
  6. Well, technically its possible, since fundamentally its same as any other program — there's text data encoded in sjis/unicode, and there's some function which renders text into image. But since there's also emulation layer above, you'd need to write hooker specifically for particular emulation software, and obviously you would need hook codes for individual games. But realistically, you'd need someone who knows guts of particular emulator and how code of original platform works, which is quite different from x86 most of us are used to, so chances of such hooker being ever created are pretty slim.
  7. "Patch" was released by er0gamr, we (including Clephas) are not affiliated with him in any way. We didn't release any patches, and our plans are still same — to release partial including prologue and first 3 chapters of story, because IMZ is all about story and simple interface patch is pointless.
  8. Same here. Not sure why one would even bother learning to write in this age, I don't write by hand even in my native language. Also, applied for this summer JLPT, taking N3. I know much more kanji and words than needed for it, but my vocab is mostly VN-based and doesn't align well with what needed for N2/N1, so doing it gradually.
  9. There's a lot of cool pre-2006 games. Genrin no Kishougun 2 plot is better than most of more recent Eushully titles, for one. Considering lack of anything really good in 2013/2012, I'd say rate of kamige is about same, just nowadays there's much more games released per month.
  10. Well, you cannot really call anyone here "bad guy". Except Sorako's father, perhaps, but he's just small fish. All main antagonists had their reasons to act like they did and MC isn't better than them, especially considering end result (which has hilarious, after all these efforts of Narita).
  11. You should keep in mind that even if MTL output resembles proper English, it doesn't mean translation is correct. ATLAS quite often gets confused on whether statement is negative or not, for example. Apparently "simpler" after "slang and makina-ben" means simpler as in breadth and rarity of grammar. MT will not work at all with Hiroshima-ben, for example, as its too different from mainstream Tokyo-ben. Even your usual Kansai-ben too often will turn out as pure gibberish. This works only with plot-driven games and only if you are hooked on plot. Which is not the case with like 99% VNs. Comedy isn't going to work, because significant amount of jokes relies on subtle nuances and slang, which MTs fail to translate. Prose itself (like Sakurai or Hino) isn't going to work. Sure you would probably understand what's going on in Hello Ladies for example, but best part of it is text itself, with all these grand dialogues with MC, and MT would totally ruin it. Same goes for Grisaia, its just not kind of game you would read with MT. Edit: just checked how well ATLAS handles 狩摩 lines: 「ここまで来たァいうのは褒めちゃるわ。あんときの面じゃと使い物にならんかったろうが、ちィとはマシになっちょる」=> Atlas: "It is praise [charuwa] to say the [a;] that came here. [Narankattarouga] in something useful in bean jam Nipponia nippon respect, [Chi] is [nina] Massey [choru]." GT: "§ say you come up here so you Taro Naranka~tsu thing to use the 's surface of. Antoki Charuwa praise, but Chi~ito is Na~tsuchoru to better" And there were only simplest words and quite simple grammar (just not Tokyo-ben).
  12. Grisaia and MT will not work together. Especially all that military slang and makina-ben. You could probably read simpler stuff with fine-tuned ATLAS, but if you want to enjoy jokes and serious stuff, you should actually learn Japanese. Its not as hard as some people make it sound, especially if you rely on text hookers and dictionary lookup like JParser.
  13. AkaGoei routes are complete mess, I'd advice reading appropriate routes from FD right upon completion of particular route if you want to have something even resembling to conclusion.
  14. Did you actually read comments I've linked you to? Its not "single person being rude" its majority of EOP community being utter assholes, with death threats and so on. Trolling the fsck out of such "community" is only reasonable thing to do — I'd just release "patch" packed with HDD-erasing malware, but Insem is pretty kind guy it seems.
  15. http://visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.net/2013/09/dracu-riot-80-partial-english-patch-posted-by-staircasesubs/ Harassing people is wrong. And illegal.
  16. Oh, so it was your script for TDA01? Yeah, it already reached gabgrave then. As for "open-source editing", I don't think its good idea. It was tried several times and proved to be bad approach to translations for quite a lot of reasons. I think you should try joining existing team, there are reserve editors if current one couldn't handle it fast enough, and at very least it would help keep all parts of TDA consistent in terms of language. I'll PM you gabgrave's email.
  17. You would better contact gabgrave directly, he coordinates TDA00, TDA01 and other Chronicle-related translations as well.
  18. I wouldn't call it particularly "fun". Like, 80% of it is about protag and his team being ripped apart in various extremely cruel ways. Also, doubt there will be any appends, it feels like complete (and already way too long for its own good). Maybe there will be FD with more SoL stuff (like actual school trip).
  19. Dunno, I didn't find it overall that hard. Also regarding history, pretty much everything you need is explained in the game itself, and overall info about Meiji is common knowledge. I'm still at Akira-Seiji route (ch10) tho, so I guess I didn't see worst of Dan yet. Overall writing is hard, but you get used to it after several chapters. Speaking of which, I love how Masada adds separate meanings to words with furigana. More writers should use this.
  20. 宮殿 is definitely "palace" rather than castle. It is used for residence of royalty, not as fortification type.
  21. First post in this thread is obsolete and doesn't reflect current team composition, and we don't plan to provide any updates at least till first partial patch is released. As for editors and QC, yes, we will need more a bit later, I'll contact you at that time.
  22. Looks like your locale or date format isn't set to japanese.
  23. You should do at least second, there's tons of NG+ content including new characters with own h-scenes. Eushully games are always designed to be played 3-5 times at least.
  24. I can send you sample script, see yourself if you could do it.
  25. Not sure I like their new genga. Doomfest's art was very significant part of what made their games good.
