Deep Blue
I was reading a few thread about installing games on mac and is not that easy, I don't know since I don't own a mac myself but many users recommended to install bootcamp to use a double boot but I think you should try using virtual box (it supports mac) and installing xp on a virtual machine https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads It should be easy enough to configure and install, all the tutos I've seen are from 2009 so yeah I don't think they are very useful now.. Orcka
You can always install the Windows Operating System on a Mac computer: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468

Fred the Barber
It's been a while since I looked at Mac virtualization, but the last time I looked I think Parallels was the best option: http://www.parallels.com/. Dual-booting is definitely annoying, so I'd avoid that route. You could try Wine, which seems to have a Mac install, but I expect it won't work as reliably as running a Windows VM in Parallels: https://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX
Down
I can confirm that Parallels is the most convenient and efficient solution I've found. I've done dual-booting with bootcamp for a while, although it works perfectly fine and is pretty easy to set up having to reboot when you want to play is obviously a pain. Wine works for some stuff but requires effort and being kinda tech-savvy. I think Parallels is really still the best. Or another virtual machine software but I haven't tasted many. Zenophilious
Can also confirm that Parallels is your best bet. It's what I used before I built my computer, and it was pretty simple. If you don't already know how to run things with Wine, I'd recommend Parallels.

Silver95280
I tried dual booting and Parallels. Eventually I just went "fuck it" and got a cheap windows tablet. Fred the Barber
Fred the Barber
A valid point - I kind feel like a troll for saying "get a Windows machine", but it really probably is the best option in most ways. It's probably not even that cost-ineffective, given the cost of a Windows license (and also Parallels, if you go that route)... assuming you're not pirating, I guess. Down
Quote assuming you're not pirating, I guess. Yeah, w-who would do that The advantage of Parallels is that you can use windows shit you need without ever having to connect a Windows to the internet. And also avoiding ending up with mandatory W10 and its spyware package. Actually doesn't installing windows count as a installing malware?
