Greetings Fuwanovel, I am Redemption.

It has come to my attention that a rather prominent member of Fuwanovel has just been murdered, not by me, of course...

Solve the mystery of who is the culprit and you will be rewarded greatly, specifically, when Dangonronpa* comes out on Steam, I will gift it to you, assuming I know how all of that jazz works. *you also have the option to wait for Danganronpa 2 to come out on Steam, and I will gift you that instead.

Rules:

  • It's basically a scavenger hunt on the forums, those of you who pay attention to 'his' posts will probably have the most ease in navigating through the clues. Should take about 30 minutes to an hour, maybe less, maybe more. //It took OriginalRen 4 hours and double the manpower to finish this. Still up for the challenge?
  • You may work together for the sake of working together, but only the first person who PMs me (Redemption) correctly the culprit, the motive, a summary of the scavenger hunt from start to finish (climax inference style, yee), and three passwords that are obtained throughout the hunt which serve as checkpoints to make sure that you didn't just stumble upon the ending, will win the giveaway.
  • Also, for flavor, 'he' will not log on post publicly on the forums for the duration of this event, and there will be no time limit. Thus, if you really hated 'him', then now's your chance to seal 'him' away forever! Redacted, someone has solved the mystery, though the prize is still available!

Rules may be changed at anytime. :upupu:

Glad to see someone completely copy my murder mystery game, crytic puzzle game, and color loss game with Splatoon without even acknowledging me and saying thanks for the awesome idea. Sad days. :(

Umm no, sorry unoriginalbro, but this was entirely inspired by Danganronpa, which was a murder mystery game with cryptic puzzles and color less portraits with red X's for the deceased. So as much as you would like credit to feed your attention needs and ego, no.

Upupupu....Would be too easy if it was consistent

You'll never be able to find the culprit, there are too many dead end clues :upupu:

The "It was..." quoting has conjured 10 different culprits. Really annoying.

Also, when we solve this, do we need to PM the entire process? Honestly can i just get you on my TS so I can script it for you? Linking is going to be so annoying...

Mmmm

Basically, find the statement that tells you explicitly where to find the next statement. Repeat 20x and you'll reach the end of the 'scavenger hunt' which should pretty much reveal the perp. It can be pretty hard if you haven't been paying attention to 'his' posts either, who the hell will remember that Rise is best girl because she has pink hair, let alone that post's location? Simply impossible, so I won't mind giving some clues every now and then.

There's about 20 tabs' worth of pages you'll have to burn through to reach the end, with the 1st one being my personal favorite since gg finding the statement in that horrible wall of text in which that above Rise hint does not apply. I think there's another wall of text find the statement towards end game, too.

Just give up :upupu:

In my experience with fictional murderers, the killer is always the one of the first to try and blame others for the murders in a classic misdirectional manner.

The only people in this thread who do this are Valmore and Kyrt. Kyrt went the extra mile to finger someone, PLUS his avatar wears a stupid looking hat. Fictional murderers are often stupid in some manner, a classic giveaway. Batman’s avatar is wearing a stupid hat also, but he never tried to guide people away from himself.

Thus, the answer must be Kyrt. Hooray, and I didn’t even have to go on that scavenger hunt. I am a bonafide detective, I should seriously become a copper IRL.

Do I get a prize, now?

I wish I had the intelligence to craft an epic murder mystery filled with plot twists and revelations, but alas, this is just a scavenger hunt and purely a scavenger hunt :vinty:

@Ren afk. No seriously, it'd be boring if you had 'his' real time input for the duration of this event. If you're stuck on something, just grab a bunch of people to examine that post and then hammer away at the search function :upupu:

ed: ty for pointing out the mistake which I so easily rectified by adding another step but probably stole an hour of your time whoops :rimu:

Ren's on like step 16/20, so this scavenger hunt is definitely doable albeit frustrating apparently, heh.

Ren reached the end, thank you for beta-testing, that means that this scavenger hunt is definitely doable!

Here's a word from his trials:
"I think this made me spend 4 hours in pain. Don't confuse your scavengers.

For real though, this was fun."

The prize is still up for grabs, btw!
