I want to get into more romance VN/eroge but am very picky about art quality. I really like the art of all the tone work's games (e.g., Hatsukoi, Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai, Gin'iro Haruka, etc.), and I like the scenarios for those games as well. I thought these would be a dime a dozen but I'm shocked I haven't been able to find more games like this to my liking. I'm currently playing Windmill Cosmos' Ichizuna Kanojo to Koi Shitai (both Kyoka and Runa versions) and I LOVE the art for these games. Exactly what I'm looking for when I say something comparable to tone work's. Unfortunately, this company has only put out these two games so far (and the art of the parent company's games is not nearly as good imo). I would prefer a modern Japan setting, but really anything realistic is fine. I'm not really into fantasy, action, etc. But may be willing to make an exception if the art/romance is really good. I also don't need the games to be translated. I read VN for Japanese study and want to play the games in the original. Any recommendations fitting this criteria would be appreciated!

I played Kajiri Kamui Kagura recently so something like that would be great. I don't like NTR / rape stuff - it's not a dealbreaker but I'd like to steer clear of that. Like title says anything with action or fighting would be cool, or anything that's entertaining and won't bore me to death.

Took a long break from visual novels a long time ago. Been trying to pick up visual novels to play but have hard a time doing so (left most of them halfway or drop them kinda fast) I think the genre i like is comedy/romance rather then deep story. My favorite from long time ago are: Rewrite, Princess Evangeline, Kamidori and Steins Gate So far tried Sanoba Witch and I LOVED THIS GAME SO MUCH, I WANT TO FORGET EVERYTHING AND PLAY IT AGAIN, Senren Bankan(need to finish the last route), Riddle Joker (Did one route) and Starless(weird mix I know) Since loved Sanoba Witch tried the other titles but didn't hit as much but still enjoyed them. Any ideas and recommendations are appreciated. So far trying to finish the ones i mentioned and Donha Donha. Started to play Otome Domain. Would prefer to read English translated but if the VN is really good, i can play them hearing by ear/ML.

I have been an avid viewer of romance anime and only recently have I found myself interested in playing visual novels. I played DDLC a while back along with Grisaia and Clannad after having enjoyed the anime adaptations. I'm really captivated by great characters and stories with darker atmospheres than your average romance. Thanks in advance

I'm looking for some english translated romance vns that manage to be more than dating sims, with a degree of plot that makes for an actual story instead of just a linear way to date and romance heroines. Currently waiting for both Sharin no Kuni and Hello Lady releases since both these vns fit the criteria, but i dont think they will launch anytime soon. Other examples would be G senjou (maou plot), koichoco (election plot) and Clannad, although I dont think im ready for another hardcore tearjerker. Thanks beforehand.

Been looking for VN's to add to my read order. I really get sick fast of extremely light romcoms that are a dime a dozen today. I mean if they're well made, I read them but its so hard for me to find something that's well made and like that. But a somber or serious romance even if it's just an 8/10, i enjoy it a lot. Something like Aonatsu Line. By specifics on what I mean by the atmosphere, im not saying its deadly serious. I mean something like the setting doesn't really require you to suspend your disbelief, or something like suddenly a transfer student comes in and she introduces herself and she knows you and the class goes what?!?!?!, lucky bastard. Its so far away from normal human beings act that I get annoyed. Something like the following: White Album 2( This is the perfect example of an atmosphere of a VN I am particularly looking for) Kimi no Nagori, Natsu no Ame, Steins;Gate 0( yes this is not a romcom but the atmosphere im thinking of is something like that, its a serious and somber atmosphere ), Aonatsu Line

Hello everyone! I'm new to VN world and only played: White Album 2 IC, Making*Lovers and Katawa Shoujo. So i'm looking for VN that focuses on romance, or VN has romance as strong subplot. Also very important note, all or at least most of the heroines must look like normal human beings, so no loli looking characters, please. Genres doesn't matter as long as romance is strong part of the story, actually i prefer at least a bit of drama but its okay if VN doesn't have one. p.s. My english is terrible, im sorry

It doesn't need to have big school part - there can be just young people without mentioning learning. It is also important to have routes, male protagonist and maybe mostly girl friends. Bonus points for: If being censored, having a patch available somewere in web. For me, h-scenes are something more than just being a bait, those are important parts of story. Shy heroine. I was reading Koichoco and really felt that Hazuki needed a route of her own. I have also read Noble works which had a pitiful route for the teacher. What are some good translated VNs with Teacher heroine/s?

All of that is finally going to change when a cute elf princess named Sophia kidnaps you for a new adventure! The plot is to travel around the world and free sexy heroines from being brainwashed. You have to use manipulation and shenanigans to do it, but once the brainwashing has ended, they will regain their free will and help you fight evil! The game is melancholic. The author seems to speak from the heart when he talks about being a degenerate during his young adulthood and seeking something more. Metropolitan life doesn’t please him, he wants purpose, and a reason to be alive. Living paycheck to paycheck isn’t fun. At the end of the game you get the choice between living a fantasy life with your harem, or returning to the real world. The writing is engaging, but relies on cringe-worthy tropes. The catgirl is shy and subservient, while the succubus is cocky and aggresive. You need to drug women with a “love potion” to free them from brainwashing, which is pretty morally ambiguous. With five sexy babes in total, I began wishing for love that didn’t rely on a potion. The plot is a roller coaster of emotions. Sometimes you’re surrounded by super cute blushing girls that literally call you “The Messiah”, but other times you’re faced with danger and the unavoidable mortality that all people face. It’s like the author genuinely wants you to realize that seeking out cult worship in a fictional world is not very healthy. Excellent writing! MORE INFO HERE

Hi! I am looking for VNs with good romance set in a pre-modern setting - e.g. something resembling medieval Europe, or something resembling medieval Japan or China. Preferably with supernatural elements. Isekai is acceptable. If historical, as a bare minimum it should be pre-1900. All-ages and 18+ are both acceptable, but no nukige - I want something that focuses more on romance than porn. Must exist in English (because I can only just barely read manga in Japanese; I won't be playing VNs in Japanese any time soon). The only VN of this kind of I have played is Demonheart. Examples of non-VN fiction of this kind include An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride and The World Is Still Beautiful. Can anyone recommend some? Thanks in advance!

Had a really rough semester...dog died, a friend died, I'm exhausted after college exams but finally got some holidays to rest a little bit Well, ever since I became an orphan over a year ago, I found VN's to be really good for distracting my mind. G Senjou no Maou was my first one and my favourite to this day just because I liked the protagonist personality and the ending is one of the best since it is the perfect type of bittersweet i like, Grisaia is a close second but a little bit too unrealistic and deus ex machina in some parts, I've also read Katawa shoujo, Clannad, Koichoco, ever17, Kono Ozora and I'm still waiting for Hello lady, Dracu riot, Sharin no kuni official releases and Umineko gold edition as well, so that's why I'm not reading these ones yet, rather taste the final optimized version always I'm looking for any good VN that I can enjoy but with some romance included. I know VN's like kara no shoujo and fata morgana are probably really good but I want some anime-like, Japanese style romance, don't care for cliches or tropes, in fact, I want them I would appreciate your recommendations Thanks!

Well, title really says it all. I've read a lot of VNs lately, and have seemingly run out of material to read aside from Sankaku and Damekoi (which I am reading at the moment). Some of my more recent reads have been mediocre at best, with them being Heart De Roommate, Private Nurse, Figures of Happiness, and the more okay one, Ikikoi. Aside from what I have to read now, I'm afraid my entire backlog is no longer a thing and I was hoping someone could point me out something I may have glossed over when digging for titles to read or one I had never considered? I am looking for VNs that feature both a strong, emotional romance plot AND a compelling supernatural or science-fiction story that is about other things than the love story. 18+ is preferred but not mandatory. Romantic build-up and tenderness is much more important than explicit sex acts. A happy ending is absolutely essential (but it is fine if there are also bad endings). I especially love a heroine who is badass in action situations yet submissive in romantic/sexual situations. Not mandatory, though. English is preferred. I can only barely read manga in Japanese; any untranslated VNs will have to wait some years at least. I have not played a lot of VNs, so I cannot give really good examples, but the ones I have played that come close-ish are: Highway Blossoms has a wonderful love story and a moderately interesting plot about finding buried treasure. No speculative fiction elements, though. Everlasting Summer has a quite interesting supernatural mystery plot. The romance is not very strong, though. VNs which I have heard about and which might fit include the following, although I have not played any of them: Fate/stay Night (interested because it is famous; skeptical because other Type-Moon works disappointed me). 11eyes (the anime adaptation is flawed but did make me interested). Steins;Gate (don't know much about it, but I have heard it is good). Dies Irae: Amantes amentes. Examples from other media include: Chivalry of a Failed Knight (Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry). Dusk Maiden of Amnesia (Tasogare Otome x Amnesia) Darling in the Franxx. Can you recommend me anything? Thanks a lot!

I've been looking for some romance visual novels to play through, I don't mind 18+ content. I just finished Newton to Ringo no Ki and thought the romance in there was good. I need English translation though because I'm not learning Japanese yet(too busy with regular school). I would appreciate any replies, Thank You.

Either translated or untranslated. Preferably modern-ish, with a male protagonist and that the teacher be similar to the ones from oregairu or majikoi and hatsukoi 1/1 for those who have played them (aka kinda strict/mature/tomboyish and not overly sweet and nice). Thanks in advance
