They have the 抜きゲー category there but it is not a tag so attlist is not helpful there.

Well some semi-animated H-scenes are nothing uncommon these days, softhouse-seal, kodomo-h, and some other companies put those into their games. Since those are always CG based, they get more effort put into them. The good thing E-mote is mainly used for are the parts between CGs and scenes, talking and such - that has always been sprite based so having a way to make that part more visually pleasing is good. So combine E-mote sprites with animated H scenes and you have a great game (must have lolis )

I am waiting for English translation for ヨスガノソラ - currently 76.04% complete I might try after that is done. (My Japanese is weak so I can only play nukige in JP. With non-nukige I have to wait for English translation xD)

In my country (Czech Republic) I know only 1 other person that plays galgame. Most people don't even know what anime is. But as mentioned it is most likely due to language barriers, not many people in my country even speaks English and they only watch stuff in Czech and there are no Czech translated galgames. Okami, what you say is just incorrect, there are barely any companies who make all-ages releases of eroge. One of the biggest reasons for all-ages port is a release on a sony console - sony doesn't allow 18+ content. You are just starting arguments about this whenever you have the opportunity. Eroge means erotic game so it will have the ero part, otherwise it is just a GE. This topic has nothing to do with eroge vs all-ages though, yet you still managed to derail it into that discussion. You can discuss that in the "are H scenes necessary" topic if you want but not here. So please return on topic, all off topic will be deleted. On topic: It is translator's choice to only translate parts he likes, but then it will be considered incomplete and half-assed translation or partial patch - just like when you only translate a route you like and leave other routes untranslated - it is an incomplete project and should be viewed as such. Nobody can force the translator to translate what he doesn't want to, but he then needs to accept that his translation will not be called a full patch - he has the option to find someone to finish his project.

No, he is saying that when when you are doing full translation, you translate everything, not just the things you like. Imagine translating a book where the hero dies and the translator cutting that part out because he didn't like it. H is an important part of eroge and as such the translation of it is necessary for it to be considered a good translation release. If they want to translate all-ages version of the game it is their choice, but as you can see there is a demand for the H scenes, biggest example is the konosora restoration project that added H scenes back in the game. And Okami, we know your opinion on this, you told us 1000 times already, you don't have to start pointless arguments again. If you don't like the H there is plenty of all-ages and those often receive translation (key works and such) and have no H to translate. But for other eroge, H is part of the game and project leaders should always try finding someone to translate them.

Well for me the important part of H-scene text is knowing how the girl is feeling, I can now pretty much understand that myself since I've played many Japanese only H-scenes. Understanding that makes the fap so much better, especially if you have real feelings for the girl. And usually translators do at least put some effort into that, even if the TL and editing quality is lower (as Clephas mentioned the English there isn't that refined in the first place), it is still possible to get the meaning. So not sure what exactly is Erogamer referring to, sure translators say that H-scenes are pain in the ass to do but they do them in one way or another. Or do you know about projects that left the H-scenes completely untranslated?

Well there is at least the partial patch of the common route I believe so that should ease any future projects. I might organize a project for it.

Indeed, the quality of the H scene translation can be lower to still enjoy (since you don't usually pay that much attention to the text and focus on the images, voice and "the activity you are doing"), but there should at least be some translation to know if the girl is saying she likes or not and such.

That's why recommendation threads are subjective and people will give subjective opinions they think are good - you could have done so yourself instead of just linking to lists and recommend your favorites. And the person asking will then decide which one of those recommendations are closest to his taste and try it. So instead of replying to me, reply to the OP with your thoughts so he has more things to choose from, please.

That is not how it works, you linked him to the lists that can be helpful but he would have to search and match with computer searches and whatnot. Asking someone with human brain to look over the VN's you've played and try to look for similarities is much better. I see that most of the VN's he has played I've either played or planned to play and never got to them, I look at the reason I've liked them and for the reason why I considered playing the ones I didn't play and I try to combine the reasons into a VN I have played and also liked and he hasn't played yet - hence the recommendation of Little Busters is natural one. So of course if I see someone who likes similar VNs I did, I will also recommend a VN I liked, because a person with similar tastes is more likely to like that VN than a VN I didn't like. That is how recommendation threads work - lists of VN are very useful to do your own research but having people with feelings and brain look over your list and judge the best next VN is just much better, that's why we encourage recommendation threads as long as they have at least some information to go off. (So unless they are "I like VNs, what to play?" it is a good and productive thread).

What is it you liked about the VNs you've read? Judging by some of them it would probably be cute moe girls with a well made story and character development. If that is the case than I would probably recommend Little Busters! - it has a bit slower start but you will not regret in the end. (If you like H scenes like I do, I would also recommend downloading JP version of the Little Busters EX version and play the H scenes after you finish each route in the fuwa English version as a "reward" - thats what I did and it was great). And you can test if you like the style of Key by first reading Planetarian, it combines great development and deep character dialogue with cute girls too - like most of the games you've played. And if you enjoy that, you could enjoy other Key works like LB (and rewrite, clannad - although those don't have H, not even in JP expansion).

As I already explained a lot in the other topic we had about this: Recommendation topics are very personal and so selecting few that were "similar" doesn't really work. One person might want romance with sister incest, next person might want romance with sister incest but only imouto, not neesan sister. And those are already different. That is why we encourage people to start their own topic and explain exactly what they want from a VN and people will help them find it. Sure it might look similar to you but to the person starting the topic it is important that people replying focus on the aspects HE wants and not just list "generally good" VNs. And since this was already discussed and decision was made, I will be locking this topic. PS: Tay is making a guide for a complete newbies which will basically be listing generally good VNs and helping people pick - that will be pinned.

Well they need to be very specific since they differ from game to game. Crass just has all that mixed together. However crass and similar universal tools are dead projects for many years now so it doesn't work with lot of new releases. Westside and asmodean are probably the closest you get to something like crass since its all centered on one website and generally the commands are similar. Those 2 update constantly for even the newest releases.
