Well its not a new format, its mp4 with html5 player. So it is literally like embedding youtube videos (btw I don't remember time when I was unable to embed youtube videos and I joined in 2007 - sure forums don't have it by default but the option was always there). But yeah there is lot of stuff you can do with html5, I was trying to do something like multitwitch but where the streams are resizable as you want and movable around as an element and its not that hard, I might have the file somewhere. This gfycat is basically just video player made in the same way, sure its cool project but I don't see it as a future of anything, its just a website that does things (and actually pretty lazy coding on the main site I must say, it doesn't resize properly with lower resolutions and sidebars :/).

I don't get it, what is the point? Like sure you can make gifs into mp4 video (which is what it does), but the point of gif is that it is an image format, not video format, so stuff that only supports images works with them. Avatars, signatures, icons and all that is all image based so having the ability to turn them into videos is pointless if the stuff doesn't support it.

Well actually meme ceases to be a meme once it gets viral. Meme is supposed to be a catch-phrase or a joke WITHIN a specific community, not a viral joke - viral joke or image is just viral joke or image, meme is something that only the smaller community uses (like fuwanovel community for example). Once it gets all over the internet, has its currency and is even on TV, it is just a viral thing, not really meme (like doge). But you are right, you cannot just "create" a meme as you want, but it is not that hard if the community is smaller, since it has a better chance to spread throughout the whole community quicker (like the Kud Night on TS). Yes, you can make a topic and keep it updated similarly to the topics in fan translation section. I could either be in general section or maybe even in the fantl/volunteer talk section if you are making it as requests from people, there are some people there who are looking for artists for their VN making projects and such. If it is more like requests for forum signatures or avatars, then general section would fit better though. We try to have low amount of forums and subforums so it is easy to navigate.

Option 10 - keep the current one and stay in love with your partner

It might be over for you and flutterz (poor flutterz, I see you even split avatars ) but me and meru will always be together. some constructive criticism (so you know for your future projects): - I mostly joined for the good idea of shared characters in avatar and I had the most fun making those so good job thinking about that idea. - As for the activities, they were good ideas but I must say the execution wasn't the greatest, starting with the showing love for people you might have even just met is awkward (not for me as I secretly loved meru all along ) - Stuff like the stories seemed more like school project with the exact length and stuff, instead of just saying "write whatever you want", especially when we had people who have english as their second or trird language, having to write a 2 page prose can be hard for some. - Splitting it into weeks might haven not been the greatest idea either, reducing the overall intensity of the activities to 25% while spreading them over the whole month might have been a better idea, as you can see I can still say things about meru in some posts but making it ALL posts was too much, "just mention" her over the month in some of your posts could have been better, same with having full month to prepare a short story, some questions etc. - All and all it was fun experience for me, as I got to pay attention to meru more than I would without this project, talk to her like 10000% more than I would (on pm and skype and such) and unrelated to moderation of the forums which is what we would normally only be talking about. I had fun with a love triangle with yandere lewy which was also lot of fun. - So for future forum projects, I would recommend sticking to a single easy good idea (like the avatar image coupling) and let people do whatever they want as activities, without setting exact rules how it has to be done. Feels more fun that way~ So yeah, thanks for the project and don't feel down that it didn't work just like you expected, there were many subtle things you don't know about that sprouted thanks to you. And GL next time~

NP xD I can say it here as well since I only told Kendjin on TS. To easily make gifs from anime, you need photoshop 32bit and staxrip and some prerequisites (manually install quicktime for photoshop import). Then you need the stuff to decode the anime and encode the video into x264 MP4. Staxrip will tell you what you miss and you can use the Setup option to quickly isntall all the needed stuff (avisnyth, h264 etc, it will all do automatically if you miss it and you just click next next etc), then you just open the anime file, go the Preview function and there you select the area you want to use for the gif. In staxrip select no audio so it doesn't waste your time doing audio. Once the video is done, in photoshop you go to File > import > video frames to layer, limit to every 3 frames. Open the animation window (window > animation) and there shift select all the frames and set speed to 0.12 (that's little over 8fps = 1/3 of anime speed 24fps). Then go to file > save for web and devices. There you play with the stuff, you can try 64 colors or 128, depending on what you want, resize the image to the size you want (max 300x300 for TS gif avatar ) and save it (dont forget to set infinite loop). And there you have it, any scene from any anime in like 5 mintues (for moving camera scenes like this you might want to try something like 0.08 for every 2 frames from anime to make it a bit smoother but works fine even like this every 3rd frame)

Gif was never meant to be used for videos so for use on web you need to stick to like 1-2 sec videos of about 20-30 frames. To greatly reduce size of gif, you need to reduce the frames, you dont need 30fps like a video does, 10 is more than enough and that is already reducing the size in half from what you used in your last image (you used 20fps, 0.05 in photoshop, just remove every other frame and set the timer to 0.1) Then also there was no need for 256 colors, 128 was enough (that can be maybe 10% reduction). See, first image is your 2.5MB, mine is 1.1MB and you cant really tell the difference unless you inspect it closely.

No, that is my own rag xD Its a funny story, I started with golden mind vision which gave me golden rag, later I played thoughtsteal and got his faceless manipulator and also drawn one of mine, so I had 2. On 9 I played rag and he didnt have an answer (he placed ysera) so on 10 I double facelessed and got 3 and cleared his board with it, this is the turn after where he then used faceless, got one rag and killed one of my rags, but I MC'd his new rag end ended the game with 3 rags But yeah, at one point there were 4 golden rags. Funny games
