  1. Rooke posted this on another thread, regarding my post:- I don't mind old people joining a discussion, but they don't have to if they don't like it. And they can just copy/paste what they posted in any old threads, if they want to join. But for them to join a discussion for the sole purpose of nagging about how "we've already talked about this" just sounds ridiculous.
  2. We'll continue this on the other thread, Rooke, as I don't really have much exp with forums in general, and have no more suggestions, except what SilverLi said. http://forums.fuwano...posts/?p=131724
  3. Welcome to FUWA! And try g-senjou no maou
  4. I'll just say this: If newbies don't get the chance to talk about all the stuff they came here to talk about, regardless if it has been talked about or not, they'll just leave. I started a topic about saya no uta, and I'm sure it has been talked about before. But I still enjoyed the heck out of it, it got like 140 replies or something. If I had to go searching for an old thread and replying to that instead, I wouldn't have enjoyed it in the least. Plus it would have bugged some people (for some reason). So if you ask me, repeated threads>necromanced thread. And for those who are tiered of looking at stuff that have been talked about before, may I ask why in the world are you looking at it then?! Is someone holding a gun to your head, forcing you to read every thread on the forums? I'm even surprised you bothered to open it. let others have fun, for crying out loud!!
  5. Oh man, why did you have to ask... Well, I was very close to shedding tears, and if I did, I would feel like I lost to Arkada... And I don't like that feeling! I have no idea how people enjoy crying... But I sure don't Oh and it was starting to get repetitive and boring. I've rarely ever finished a VN completely...
  6. Well, I'm one of those people who gets really pissed of when topics are derailed, it makes necromancing the thread difficult, and sometimes making a new thread is necessary. I would personally like it if the mods can be a little more strict with derailing posts. I'd even support removing the posts. But it seems I'm in the minority here...
  7. Welcome to Fuwa! And play rewrite!
  8. The difference between a localization and a translation can be forgotten easily when your doing either one of them. When you're just translating, you usually end up having to change a few things regardless, though it really depends on the audiance. Like VN's for instance. You will find that in VN translations, they rarely translate "oni-chan" to big brother. Why? Because the targeted audiance have probably watched alot of anime, and who hasn't heared that word a million times already? If he, the translator, was targeting a non-anime -watching audiance, it would be wiser to translate onichan. So at the end of the day, it depends on what the translator wants, and there is very little difference between localization and translation, so as you mentioned, the end result usually ends up between the two.
  9. The conclusion of this thread: making forum jokes is a hard job.
  10. I personally see Google translate as an abomination, something you should only resort to in the most dire of cases, or when you're learning a new language. But to translate a work of art?! Blasphemous!!! I once use to know a guy on an online game who only knew his mother tongue, some European language, and he used Google translate to talk with everyone . Man, was it a pain getting anything out of him. No wonders he never joined any clans... But the point is: something like Google translate shouldn't ever be used to translate something you want to enjoy, especially something that is seen as some kind of literature, like VN's. Only use it for something you reeeeally need to understand right away.
  11. (and don't bother trying do elaborate, I'll learn soon hopefully )
  12. Ren usually sends a PM to all the episode guests when he decides upon the times. Expect them to be on Tuesdays, he's particularly fond of them.
  13. it doesn't have to be an image, but an image is fine too
  14. Wow, this is the num1000 Visual Novel topic on Fuwa. So, let us celebrate this day by... ummmmm... ______? What do you think would be a suitable topic for this occasion?Or you know what, lets have a little competition. Submit any story, image, video, etc, that would be your gift to the site. Your thank you gift. For instance, It could be a congratulation image, or something. Be creative! And I suppose this technically isn't a visual novel topic... but i think we can let this one slide hey waite why am i telling people what to do? I'm not an admin or anything... oh well, too late for that I guess And I'll be submitting my own thank you gift soon.
  15. Dam, I don't wanna bore people to death, so I'll just say VN's are awesome, I'm very keen on becoming a VN developer, and I have met some of the best people in my life here. If gems exist in the in the internet, this site is one of them
  16. Welcome to the party And read G senjou no maou if you havn't. You wont regret it
  17. 0_0 I will never look at Levy the same...
  18. yyyyyyyyyyy But on a more serious note, since you bumped this thread, I'll go ahead and join in on the loot Well, I actually started reading VN's not so far ago, about 10 months or so. I was watching an anime review by arkada, about "the world God only knows", and I got very interested in the whole idea of VN's. But it wasn't until I watched his Clannad review that I actually tried one. He mentioned how the story was "so touching, it will bring the manliest man to tears" and, being the manly man I am, I took this as a personal challenge, and since I don't like watching lovey dovey anime, I decided to try the VN. I actually finished all 5 side routes before interring one of the main routes, but when I did... I got emotionally involved like never before... I actually cared deeply about what would happen to the protag and his love interest. Don't get me wrong, I never care about this normally. And you know what? I don't remember why exactly, but I got so close to crying... this close... aaaaaaaand I uninstalled the dam thing before finishing the route, cuz I had exams . But I was so scared of the power of this thing, I ended up not trying another VN until a month had passed. Then I discovered ashadow, who "guided" my VN path pretty well. I got to play some awesome VN's cuz of him, like Rewrite, Rewrite and Rewrite! Then I ended up here with you guys. And I suppose you know the story as good as I from there
  19. In rewrite, moon route, when all heroins.... No spoilers But that was the best moment in the 120-140 hour long VN
  20. as long as the new one will have a new "batman\something irrelevant " gif, I'll put my money too
