I've been meaning to start this topic for a while now. Since some VN's have harem endings, (or at least that’s what I heard), and for those of you who have played them, did the concept effect your belief about polygamy? As most westerners believe it's wrong. Whether it be negative or positive, I would like to hear how people who have grown up all there lives believing that having more than one wife/girlfriend at the same time is a crime worthy of lawful punishment, view there beliefs after trying one of these endings. (After the saya no uta thread, I'm convinced that VN's can do wonders to peoples biliefs ) And also, if you can recommend me any good VN's with harem endings, that would be much appreciated. (in english)

lol, guys i didn't meant to make you shut up completly, I was actually enjoying the way the argument was going, minus "because its stupid" and "saying that means your an idiot". As long as you can keep the insults in check, you can talk all you want about the awesomnes of slime.

Wow, looks pretty interesting and original. Though you might try to give us a little more info on the "book". But other than that, nice premise.

My poor thread, that was one day home to a beautiful collection of different thoughts and ideas calmly and peacefully enjoying one another's differences, now fallen prey to slime-wannabe's, troll's and people who just think there right and anything else somebody say's is either stupid, idiotic or just simply wrong. Listen guys, nobody has a problem with different people wanting different things and having different conclusions to the same event's, but can't you guys do it without badmouthing one another? True and kotoris route was fine, except for the ending, and akanes rout was my favourite. WHY U NO LIKE IT?!?! but i cant say anything about kagari.... the next person wishes if there were more VN's just like rewrite (ie: lots of genres in one game...)

LOL. what can i say? If anything they sound just as convincing as you guys. But of course the reason why I'm always taking my info from them is because, before discovering these forums (through a youtube video! ) they were where I discovered VN's, were i saw reviews, and to put it simply: if it hadn't been for youtube, i wouldn't know anything about VN's... so yea, I hold them in high regard

Oh, i must apoligise that i misquoted from the guys video. He said that: 1every galgame/eroge is a VN 2every VN is not neccasserily a galgame/eroge Plus, he also states that there super populour in japan. Infact, every youtuber that talks about these games seems to bilieve this. ( including grarkda. See hes "the world god only knows review"). And heres the vid:

So i suppose what these definitions conclude is that every dating sim is a vn, but not every VN is a dating sim? I remember hearing something like that in a youtube video a while back( that im way too lazy to check on). The guy talked about all the words and definitions in quite a professional manner. I think he was called snowball? Oh and yeah, theres also galgame, wich i suppose means dating sim?

I dunno about that, as i cant really name any "normal" VN that people know about, all of them just seem weird. The closest would be katawa shoujou, but even that looked weird before actually trying the game...

Yeah... remember how everyone was afraid that the birdy-VN was going to ruin the future of VNs? Well unfortunately the game theorists just shouted to the hole world about it, ending with the phrase "dating Sims are weird...". greaaaaaaaaaaat.... And don't u guys find it weird that they always call them dating Sims and not visual novels? I'm beginning to forget the difference between them. u don't have to watch the hole thing, since he only talks about it in the first 2 minutes... PS: don't u find it jarring that they chose an episode about minecraft creepers over the use of dating-Sims in real life? I mean, i know the some people can be weird, but over 100,000... what is the world coming to...

*stops reading half through. spits half his cup of tea all over the screen* *gets the courage to continue, only to spit out the rest* And now that i have finished my soothing cup, my dear Okami, not everyone in the world cares about becoming a "superior life form". I mean what would you do if you become one? cover your slime over everybody's face? (yes, the saya-creatures left a trail of slime behind them) Also i must admit i have yet to lose faith in the real world. I'm not that attached to the 2D. And so the only good thing would be Saya, and to me shes not worth the hole world including myself as a sacrifice.

Someone has watched way too much game theory. Well anyway, since were doing theories, i think that what the creators were trying to achieve was to put the player in a situation were he had to choose between his normal world, friends and life and his loved one. They were trying to push the term "for the one you love" to its furthest extent. And, like most VN's, it achieved its goal at a frighting level. Out of all the people who played the game, i think (and after reading the posts here) that the majority chose saya over humanity, and probably don't even regret there choice. Some people don't even seem to mind being turned into one of those... things. For a game to achieve that is... jaw dropping to say the least. But, that's just a theory! A game theory!
