  1. I haven't played the remake yet - the price put me off, especially since I'm not a fan of new character designs. Maybe will get it at summer sale. Since the art is completely redone from scratch, it wouldn't be surprising if they changed that.
  2. YU-NO was notorious for that, it actually made me lower its score a bit. Some of those pantyshots were truly ruining the mood.
  3. Well, I enjoyed Chrono Clock very much, however, after reading some posts about Hapymaher decided to pass on it. CC seems to be much more lighthearted than Hapymaher, although still has its emotional moments. While both games are from the same studio, they have completely different writers, so I wouldn't expect too much similarities between them.
  4. Yeah, let's all hope for something nice.
  5. I wanted something lighthearted and translated, so I started Lamunation. But I'm not sure if I'll stick with it. So far I completed prologue, but it feels totally flat, didn't grab me. I snicker at some of the jokes or references, but that's all. I don't feel anything for characters so far. Maybe parody games are not for me? I mean, I don't mind 4th wall breaking or some references, or even memes, if it happens from time to time, but it seems that in case of Lamunation there's nothing more. Also, engine feels really clunky, response to clicks is rather sluggish. Well, I guess I'll try one route, and then see if I want to continue or drop it.
  6. Wow, Snow Presents is really short FD - I just finished it It wasn't outstanding, but nonetheless nice. I'd say it's your typical Fan Disc. There were some truly sweet moments, and while h-scenes weren't exactly to my taste (too long! I'd cut the moaning and onomatopeia in half ), I enjoyed whole package. 7/10 , and definitely recommended for all Kotori's fans. Animated sprites were nice touch. So that concludes my adventures with Konosora
  7. So, I decided to continue with Konosora, and now I'm reading Snow Presents. Also, let me return for a moment to the Kanako's route. What I meant by this is that in adult version we lose some really sweet moments (spoilers, and all-ages version exclusive CGs incoming). This is replacement for first h-scene: The next one is just kissing replacement for the second h-scene, but I still like it more: And, finally, completely new, and sweet scene, which is totally absent from +18 version:
  8. Recently I finished reading Cruise Sign which at the same time means completing Flight Diary. The last two routes I've read (and didn't write about here yet) were Kotori's and Amane's after stories, and they were great, especially Amane's (titled "Soaring Club's Prologue"). Very emotional, made me shed a tear here and there (and there were good laughs as well). In addition to being continuation of Amane's route, it also - as the name would suggest - has flashbacks from the time when Amane, Isuka and Tatsuya were in the Soaring Club, and After reading all routes (and comparing them with translated Steam version) I'd like to reiterate once more - ["If My Heart Had Wings" + "IMHHW:Flight Diary" + Akari's DLC] is the equivalent of translated "Cruise Sign" - there is exactly same content, both text and images. The only problem is bad translation of main game (Flight Diary is okay). But, contrary to popular belief, there is no additional censorship in translated version when compared to Japanese console version. Overally, I'd give Flight Diary the same score I gave to the main game - 8/10. It was very enjoyable. Translation of the Flight Diary available on the Steam is quite okay (if a bit stiff at places), but I spotted a few errors in each route. They aren't story-breaking, but they might be confusing at times, messing up some background details or not fitting into the context. I plan to fix those, and if everything goes well, make small text-fix patch. Also, after completing all-ages version, I skipped through +18 version of FD. While when it comes to the main game I'm fine with either version, for Flight Diary I prefer all-ages. Especially in Kotori's and Amane's after stories, the placement of H-scenes is (IMO) quite awkward, and ruins the flow and the mood for me. I much prefer replacement scenes from Cruise Sign - they fit in better. I guess that Kanako's route is almost okay in +18 version, but the second scene uses one of the worst high-school moege H cliches: Also, after thinking about it a bit more, replacement scenes from Cruise Sign still are cuter So, all in all, Cruise Sign FTW - especially since we get Akari's route, which is much better than pretty generic threesome scene with Ageha and Hotaru from +18 version. I'm not sure what to read next. Maybe something translated and light for a breather? Lamunation perhaps? Or go with a flow, stay in Konosora world, and read Snow Presents, which I recently got on DLSite's sale? Don't know yet. Actually, it turns out that reading untranslated, while slow, is kind of addicting for me - now sometimes I feel slightly weird when reading translated VNs... weird.
  9. I'm also all in for Mashiro Iro Symphony translation (I think I mentioned it already in the thread ). As for poll results - it sits on 2nd place, together with Akatsuki no Goei, so not bad. I've read both versions, and it is tough nut to crack I'd say - as, it's hard to choose. I loved all-ages version - I felt like Miu's route was better in this version as ero in her route was a bit weird and felt slightly out of character, and of course there's Sana's route. On the other hand, Airi's, Sakuno's and Angie's routes were very sweet in adult version as well. I wouldn't mind if it would have been localized like Princess Evangile - with all-ages version based on console version, and adult version based on PC version (but, perhaps with addition of Sana's and Yutsuki's routes, with disclaimer, that they lack h-scenes?) I also agree that NekoNyan would have been my preferred publisher for this BTW I'm really surprised that VA for Airi is the same person who voiced Amane from Konosora and Sasara from ToHeart 2
  10. According to latest Nekonyan's blog post, Perfect Edition DLC is going to be free, as a compensation for delay.
  11. I take that back. There is still random delay whenever MIDI track changes (due to changed MIDI handling in newer Windows versions). So, contrary to what I thought at first, it's just repackage of the 20 years old release with changed title screen and manual in different format Shame... The version floating on the net on abandonware sites was 1.2 while this is apparently 1.3, but they don't seem to be much different.
  12. Yeah, looks like that's the case here. It's the same with another Pulltop VN I got from DLSite today - Te To Te Try On - download edition is completely unhookable, unless I substitute exe file for the disc one. Looks like I got lucky with Saki no Love Love Honeymoon DL Edition. But that one was from getchu. Maybe their DRM is less intrusive.
  13. After experimenting a bit more, it seems that DLSite's versions' executable file is just weird. I found temporary solution, but it's very inelegant - had to replace AdvHD.exe with the one from disc version (and let's not inquire too much where dit it come from...) For this version then, ITHVNR lists additional hook - HW8@3977B:GDI32.dll which works perfectly.
  14. Today I bought Snow Presents Download Edition from DLSite. The game works well, however I cannot manage to hook the text from it. Both ITHVNR and Textractor have built-in hcode for it, but it produces strange results. While they definitely capture the text going into text box, they fail with encoding / codepage or whatever. The output is similar to the result you get when trying to run Pulltop VNs on AdvHD engine without Japanese date&number format. (but then such garbage appears inside game's own text box of course) Does anybody know solution for this (or another working hcode)?
  15. I browsed through Steam screenshots, and one thing caught my eye: Last time I've seen this (romanizing 先輩 as "sempai") was, as far as Manga Gamers' works go, in Harukoi Otome Looks a bit weird, but of course not a big thing. (and has its merits, since it is closer to the actual sound of the word) OTOH - I really like the overall look of this - background and characters look really nice. However, that game is a bit pricey for me currently. I'm mildly interested in it, but considering my already huge backlog, I think I'll wait for next year sales
  16. According to @Clephas' review, they aren't strictly "bad" ends, more like what would be considered "normal ends" in other VNs. He called it "soft utsuge" - it's not exactly depressing, but every ending has bittersweet element to it.
  17. Okay, I got it and checked it out quickly. It seems to be almost direct re-release of 1999 Otaku Publishing version. Script files are byte-for-byte identical, so no translation fixes Initial splash-screen has been changed from "Otaku Publishing" to "Fakku", there is separate exe file for windowed mode, and issues with running on modern Windows systems have been fixed. Manual has been converted from *.hlp format to html, but contents are the same, so you can read, that in order to load the game you have to put CD in the drive etc etc It's DRM-free - doesn't require Steam client to play. There are some leftover saves - almost as if this release was based on some pirate version Any price higher than the current would have been a rip-off, but for $9, it's passable.
  18. I just got e-mail notification from Steam that it finally got released. As for price, after conversion it looks like $9-10 release.
  19. I'm quite surprised that Asuka landed 3rd place - would expect her to be on 2nd. As for others - it's Satouin for me.
  20. What surprised me the most is that initially GIGA wanted to censor also other things beside sex. They seem to have some really skewed view of Western market.
  21. According to some tweets by KEY, they're going to translate Reflection Blue if translation of original version sells well. Maybe they'll release it as DLC/patch then?
  22. Actually, I was (and still am) hoping that you could become an editor for this, once I finish current work (meaning re-TL and filling the gaps). That's okay. I also wasn't entirely satisfied with those smoothed images look, so it wasn't big problem to let them go, but if there's someone who likes them, I see no harm in including them as well as an option
