    Pokemans

I haven't played a lot of pokemon. I own diamond and I think I tried a friends game once (think it was Fireread but I can't really remember). I used to collect a lot of cards but I never actually played with them (none of my friends knew how and I was to shy to ask the guys to play with me). I admired and traded them instead (I still have a grudge against a then-classmate who stole my blaziken lol). I have been thinking about buying some of the older games and try though (all they new pokemon look so weird to me, which is the reason I never could get through Diamond).
  2. Sola maybe (its written by a VN writer after all).
  3. Of the currently airing shows you should definitely try Shin Sekai Yori (Though the UTW translation is a lot nicer to read). Some other good recent shows are Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (My Little Monster), Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (Humanity has declined), Ika-Musume (Squid Girl) and Usagi Drop. And of course the oldies (compared to the previously mentioned of course) like The Melacholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Hayate no Gotoku and Lucky Star (They don't have a lot of good old shows on crunchyroll so you will definitely miss out if that's your only source for anime)
  4. You should really do Nacchan's route first as she has no extra scenes during the common route. That way each time you replay you'll get extra scenes while if you do Nacchans later the only thing different is the epilogue.
  5. Yeah I know thats why I'm not really against it per-se. It's more that I think that we might not want the japanese publishers to perceive us as a threat if you understand what I mean. The thing I'm worried about is either that fuwanovel will receive a lawsuit (a real one not just a C&D) or that the japanese companies will just decide that it's too bothersome to release things officially since it's just going to get uploaded anyway (even though it doesn't decrease sales they probably won't see it that way.)
  6. I honestly don't think it's a good idea to offend the few companies that actually bother to release their games in english by uploading them for free. It's not that I find it wrong (hell I would probably use the function myself if I had a phone with android) but there's so few companies who actually dare to release their stuff officially. I think this might actually hurt fuwa's longtime goal (to make VN's more popular in the west). If we want companies to release translations of their stuff themselves we probably should ignore the official releases (for now).
  7. I hope you consider making it an alternative download as a lot of people (me included) consider the ps3 artwork bland and generic. The voices are good although the first ps3 game suffers from bad voice direction.
  8. Yeah I usually do that too. I just thought that the Clannad anime really added something to the VN (and I'm an animation junkie and KyoAni does have some really nice animation, which is very rare in anime).
  9. In the cases where I have watched the anime first I always end up finding the VN better. The only anime I have ever preferred to the VN is Clannad and I read the VN way before I watched the anime.
  10. 2012 was their 10 year anniversary so I assume that they mean something like "let's contine to produce fantastic stuff these next 10 years as well". I doubt that we'll have to wait 10 years for it.
  11. There is no Tsukhime Anime No just kidding. I doubt we'll get a release date in the near future and Type-Moon will probably push it back at least a year anyway.
  12. Much Better! Though she looks kinda cold doesn't she? I mean hugging the snow man like that. What if she gets hypothermia !
  13. Yeah it'll just lead to fighting mass-negrepping and other non-fun stuff. I think it's really hard to understand most people who are against gun-control because of growing up in a different kind of culture and I guess most of you who are against it would feel the same way about us who are for it.
  14. This is only true in a country which already has too many guns in circulation. Here you can't just get a gun. You have to have criminal contacts (and most criminals here doesn't have access to guns either) or you have to have a license (which is really hard to get). The thing is most people doesn't know how to make bombs or weapons that can kill several people at the same time. Which means they'll have to substitute guns with knives for example. Killing someone with a knife may not be harder then killing someone with a gun but killing several people with one sure is. You can't kill people that's running away from you with a knife. You can with a gun. Also if a person is crazy they deserve help not someone shooting them.
  15. With the exception of Arcueid (really don't like her mini skirt) these new design's are absolutely gorgeous
  16. Here in Sweden we also have very strict laws against guns. To obtain one you either have to have a license (which takes a long time to obtain), or be a member of the police force or a similar institution. For the average joe, obtaining a gun is nigh impossible and therefore shootings are very rare. Average civilians should never be allowed to even touch a gun. The act of killing with one is too easy. It requires no physical contact with the victim. You only have to point and shoot. Of course you can’t fully trust the government. But that doesn’t mean you should be able to kill them. Even in the cases where the government is corrupt giving the other side weapons may very well worsen the situation (look at Syria for example). Your home is not your castle and you should not be given tools to defend it. Killing with a gun, even in self-defense is murder. When you use a tool where you fully know that one of the most likely outcomes is death you are attempting murder. Knifes shouldn't be acceptable self defense tools for the very same reasons. If you arm yourself with a gun or knife in the name of self defense you are ready to commit murder to defend yourself. (of course I'm not saying that someone who kills their agressor with a gun should be persecuted but I am saying that they shouldn't have been granted guns in the first place)
  17. The VN market in japan is terribly over saturated so I assume that all larger companies have at least toyed with the idea of expanding.
  18. I snack far to much when sitting by the computer. Ice cream and chips (but not together of course) are probably my favorite snacks to eat while reading. Though I'm home alone I may eatb my regular meals there too. It just feels so pointless eating alone at the kitchen table. So I usually take whatever I'm eating with me to the computer (even if it's beef or spaghetti)
  19. Reading through Kagetsu Tohya right now. As expected it's really funny. Though the highligt so far was the side story told from Akiha's perspective. I really don't get why Nasu just doesn't go ahead and write a story with a female protagonist since he's really great at writing them. Here's hoping that the next Mahoyo will feature Aoko as the protagonist.
  20. I think there should be an option to jump to a specific letter in the alphabet when displaying the VN's in alphabetical order. You have to browse through to many pages to get to the Vn you're looking for and it's only going to get worse later as more and more VN's are added to the site.
  21. I think a lot of these problems are rooted in sensationalist journalists writing about stuff that they have absolutely no clue about. This would be unnacceptable if it were about a book or a movie but strangely it seems to be fair game to write crazy conspiracy theories about games, even if they have no clue about what the game is even about. Sort of like that Mass Effect incident on Fox New some years back.
  22. It doesn't really matter how edited and fixed the patch is. At long as it's based on the original machine translation it's not really a proper translation. That doesn't mean it isn't readable though but in many cases the meaning got completly changed in the machine translation if that has then been used as a basis for this patch those instances can be turned into readable sentences, that means something entirerly different. Machine translations also miss things like flow and style, really essential things. No matter how many tlcheckers you have you can't get those things back without essentially retranslating the entire thing. And as I said again I'm not against the translation being distributed through the forums or machine translation being used as a basis for translation I just think it's really important that it's always noted. (I don't know if this new patch is using a machine translation if it doesn't I apologize, this is my opinion on machine translation in general and not just the Flyable Heart translation).
  23. The reason the translation got bad rep isn't only because it's unedited. Its a bloody machine translation. (The original patch also added voice acting for the protagonist.... which was done by a computer.) I definitly agree to not distribute it through the main site. I would even add a disclamer that said that the translation is in many cases plain wrong and that people who still choose to read it should do it knowing that.
  24. Surströmming is seriously pretty icky though. EU should just go ahead and prohibit it, no one eats it anyway. And well you could have been a Dane as we're the butt of their jokes as well but since you mentioned Norwegians ... (And you are really good neighbours, especially for our store owners.)
  25. I have some as well. One day a norwegian man went to see the swedish king. "The swedes tell all these mean stories about us norwegians. They say that we aren't as smart as them!" he said to the King. The king said "There, there. I'll show you that us swedes aren't that bright either." He called out to one of his servants and said: "You there! Go to my house and check if I'm home!" When the servant had left the king turned back to the norweigan and said: "See, he wasn't that smart either." "No, he could have called instead.", the norwegian answered. How do you sink a norwegian submarine? A: You swim down and knock on the door. How do you sink a norwegian submarine again? A: You swim down and knock on the door. They'll open it and say: -Ha! You won't trick us this time! A swede is travelling in a hot air balloon when suddenly a strong wind makes him drift over to norway. The man doesn't know where he is so when he notices a man on the ground he asks: -Where am I? -Don't try to trick me! I can see you're in that little basket up there!
