INFORMATION


How to Play:
- You must choose a country, and lead it until it is completely destroyed. You may not switch to a different country while your country still survives.
- If your country has been shamefully defeated by a superior nation, you may continue your life and lead the superior nation's army. If two or three nations have divided your country, the country with the most territory captured from your nation is your new nation.
- You may attack once every twenty-four hours.
- The number of territories you capture is determined by the last digit of your post number. To gain your post number, 'quote' your attack post and switch to coded view (The switch on the top-left corner of the full editor). Added to one-tenth of your total territory count, rounded down. You may only capture a maximum of 12 territories per attack. For Example: Spain wishes to take Portugal for the glory of the king. The last digit of Spain's post was 5, and her total territory was 42. 5 + 42/10 = 5 + 4 = 9 territories captured from Portugal
- You may also attack in a very specific way.
For Example: Germany attacks Russia in what is now modern-day Poland.
The territories captured will be modern Polish land.
For Example: Germany attacks Russia's Baltic regions.
The territories captured will be modern lands of the Baltic states.
For Example: Germany invades France, but crosses Belgium.
Germany will first capture Belgium, then move into France.
- You may attack by sea, if you have territory in the same sea sector, which are those greyish-blue lines in the ocean.
- You can form an alliance/royal marriage/pact/entente with other nations. These can be made public or private. Be wary.
- To balance the Russian player, the same attack formula will be used, but the resulting number is divided by 4, rounded down once more. This is due to Russia having a large amount of territory, and the Russian army was one of the worst during WW1 (and even WW2, before Germany angered them too much).
- Roleplaying is highly encouraged. It's a tradition practised among the Commission.

Nations:
- A nation may have up to three controllers. They will make individual decisions, but they will operate from the same country. Which means a country with one controller may attack once, two controllers may attack twice, and three controllers may attack thrice. Having multiple controllers will make your expansion faster.
- A captured nation must assist the occupier. If your nation has been captured by a stronger nation, you will assist them in their conquest, even if the nation is already full. You will assist the overlord nation until the end of the game.
- You cannot liberate captured nations. You cannot return a country to its independent status. - A country may only unite once. You can unite with any nation, which effectively increases commanders and territories. Note that any penalty a country may have will be effectively removed. Even a small nation such as Luxembourg can unite with a massive country such as Russia.
- Ceasefires are possible. A ceasefire can be declared in secret, or announced publicly. A temporary ceasefire between two nations gain a 'trust penalty'. If you have attacked a country you had a ceasefire with, your attack will be divided into three.

Austria wasn't really mad about the assassination of her archduke. She just found a good opportunity to take Serbia.

Hey everyone, I wanted to inform you that this thread is soon going to be moved to the Games & Chatter sub-forum.
The amount of derail and spam in this thread could easily earn a lock, but I will refrain from doing this and let it pass with just this warning. 
I'd like to remind you of some things though to avoid this situation from happening again.
The purpose of the Fan Translation forum is to discuss fan translation only.
This thread started going way off topic after some pages and now it's filled with random topics as well as a ton of chatter as if it were an irc and that does not belong in this thread and more importantly that does not belong in this entire forum, that already is a violation of the rules.
The reason I'm not locking this thread is because I see it's extremely engaging, that's why after some discussion I decided moving it to a more appropriate board would be the best solution to not lock it entirely so you can still chat, it will become sort of a spam thread but we already had those in G&C so as long as it's in there it's okay. 
I'd also like you to think about other topics in this board that are pushed down and don't get noticed as much because of this thread that at this point has nothing to do with the board itself and I feel like it's not fair to let it go on like this.
 
Our forums is separated in boards so you can engage in a variety of discussion wether it be VNs, Anime & Manga, to just casual chatter. But we don't like it to be messy and so it's appreciated that users take into account where to post things in order to keep it as clean as possible.
The Fan Translation board is used to discuss fan translation projects and to post news about new fan translation projects. It's a good way to let people know about your translation project and keep them updated if you have one. It is however only meant for this purpose, not for casual chatter.
If you have other stuff you'd like to talk about.
Our Anime & Manga board can be used to discuss anything anime and manga related wether it be something you're watching/reading  now to the newest stuff that's currently airing as well as anime/manga news.
In the Visual Novel board you can discuss about any type of VN you want as well as VN related topics like VN news.
The General Discussion board is used to discuss about anything that doesn't fit in the categories above. It is however meant for discussion, not for casual chatter. 
Random topics that don't create a lot of discussion or just involve a lot of chatting overall should go in the Games & Chatter board. Here you can post just about anything you'd like as long as it stays within our guidelines, it also has a plethora of forum games you can join whenever you're bored or just want to have a good time.
 
If there's a topic you like discussing and there isn't a thread about it, don't be afraid to make a thread for it, just make sure it is in the right forum and there's absolutely no problem.

Fate/Stay Night had a pretty bad adaptation. The worse part was that one story arc that tried to combine Heavens Feel and Unlimited Blade Works, that was disgraceful.

There's removing H-scenes and there's removing any kind of hint of romance, kiss scenes, sexual humor, and basically everything a VN could offer you, along with broken english.
They used the latter with Kono Oozora.

One of these days Mev asked if I had a playlist for all of the songs I post in the pm. I then noticed I posted a lot of songs while writing in general, so I decided to actually make a playlist, since it's a pity to share my favorite songs only with the members of KNIGHT and the guys from IRC.
 
I got bored halfway, so I only added about 45 songs (43 songs and a whole album as one video, if you want to be picky), but I plan to make it respectable over time.

It may seem like an ordinary moege- the atmosphere is light, the story is full of cuteness, which you can note by the character design and soundtrack. It gets really good in the middle, and you'll be dying to know what happens in the end. A game with multiple perspectives, it's definitely one of the most enjoyable Visual Novels I've ever read.

I feel obliged to comment on this VN before suggesting it to anyone. It's an Alicesoft title, which speaks a lot for itself... If you don't know how it's going to be like, well.. Kind of tough to describe. Lots of sex, including comedy rape. Alicesoft tends to make the whole story a comedy until right near the end, where things actually do get serious. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind Rance's personality.

I've been talking to some people by pms (Nosebleed, Mev, Ohiowar, etc.), and lately, an idea crossed my mind: What about playing some good old chidren's card games for nostalgia's sake?
 
We talked a bit to each other and decided to try to do this. The tournament will happen at Dueling Network. http://www.duelingnetwork.com/
 
Now, I realize tons of people don't know much about what's going on lately with yugioh. That's why after talking some more, we decided to make it so that this can be fun to the old-school guys, who just watched the show when they were kids.
 
Rules will be the same as usual yugioh.

Please try to keep your discussion to the topic which is the video itself. You can look on the video and see some signs of politics in there but in fact, it is larger than that.


Let me tell you what I see in the video.
It will be worth mentioning that I am not American and yet I see the problem with this, I who only know Obama as "the president of the US", nothing more, I don't know anything else about the politics in the US or what parties there are, I don't even care about politics and government of my country because currently we don't even have one I think (it collapsed or something) xD

But the point of this video is not to point out any mistakes in politics, it is to point out mistakes in humanity and people on this whole planet.
Because this doesn't apply only to the US, this stuff can happen everywhere and it can be related to politics, it can be related to religion but it can also be related to internet cultures, games and visual novels, because it is the human mind that is being tested in the video.
It is the problem with humanity, that they tend to select a individual person who they believe in so much that they become the same mind as the person, losing all their personality. And it doesn't matter if it is the President, if it is the first man on the moon, if it is some actor or celebrity or some youtuber, or even if it is a moderator on forums. The outcome is the same, it is always bad to blindly support someone else's mind and opinions.
And you can see obvious examples of it even in Visual Novel and fan translation community.
How many times have you seen people just blindly follow someone's opinion on vndb, without actually knowing the facts.

Let me show you example of what this video represents if we take Fuwanovel into it:
Imagine if I go without Aaeru knowing (she can be away or something) and I start a topic petition that "We support Aaaeru making Fuwanovel a monthly paid website" and then I start talking about how good that would be for everyone. How many people, especially those that come mostly from the blog could I get to agree with it? Maybe there would be some.
And see how wrong it would be? What if Aaeru actually decided to do it, how many people would blindly agree to change the basic principle behind Fuwanovel, to undermine the foundation that Fuwanovel is based on - it being available for free to everyone in the world. Thats what the video is actually pointing - what if it was actually true, how many people would blindly agree.

Now this is a small community (relatively) and there already might rise some problems from thing like that. But this is already happening in much larger scale on the whole internet. Someone who has lot of viewers on youtube can start something and get full support for it without the people actually knowing what it is, just because their favorite youtuber is always right in this.

This comes to the fanboism and overall worshiping of a single person and it is terribly wrong thing to do, we are all originals and we are all unique people so why should we follow mind of someone? I already said that in different topic, you are encouraged and you should disagree, being able to disagree is one of the most powerful things you can do in your life. I don't simply follow Aaeru or anyone else to that matter and you shouldn't too. That's why we can have healthy conversation with people like sanahtlig with whom I disagree in most cases - yet the conversations are on good level and intelligent and even though we never reach agreement, we get lot of useful information from those discussions which both of use can use for their own.
Some might call it a bad trait, standing behind your words and not changing your mind, I do that a lot, if I believe in something, I believe in it and it is a prove I am human, if I just changed my opinion to what Aaeru things or some youtuber thigns or even some politician or even the President of the whole galaxy, I would lost part of what makes us human.

And this is what we should bring from this video, its not about politics, its about us, people and how to actually be people, not just robots. Look at how many times you did something that wasn't really for cause you believed in, how many times you simpli "liked" a video because you were told to like it, how many times did you upvote a greenlight game on steam because you were told to, without even knowing what the cause behind it is.
Can you say you haven't? Maybe not even I can, but I hell try to not do that, even when some of the VNs were on greenlight and posts here were "go and upvote now", I didn't do it as I didn't believe the cause, I formed my own opinion on that from which I based my decision.
Did you do the same or did you just blindly did what you were told? Now I am not saying you should have not upvoted, but having a thought about it is what's important, if you agreed with it because YOU agreed with it, then please do it.
But never do stuff without thinking, just because someone you are friends with or believe in tells you to. Because yes, lot of the times you might end up agreeing anyways, but what if there is one time you wouldn't agree and what if it then changes outcome for something you care about.

Btw just to give you an example of greenlight going wrong, look at YogVentures of how that game is called. I understand kickstarter, kickstarter is "would you like to see this game" and ofc, fans would like to see. So I didn't have anything against the KS itself.
But when it came to greenlight, the game wasn't even in a playable state, the game wasn't working and it is still not. And SO MANY people clicked "I would buy this game if it was on steam" - they couldn't possibly know if they would because they had no idea about the game as it just didn't exist. That is how this matter reflects into our lives as gamers and into the life on the internet.

And you might look at me as Scumbag Steve for not supporting some VNs on greenlight but the question there is clear, I wouldn't buy the game if it was on steam because I wouldn't even play it. I overall voted up a single game on greenlight, a single game I was supporting from the start, made the first video review of it and loved it so much and that as Unepic and only recently the game after years made it to steam.

Now again, this is no discussion about greenlight but the matter is close.
This applies to everything, please try to be human and try to have your own mind.

And remember, arguing and disagreeing is a sign that you are human so please, argue!
There is difference between argument and fall out (or flamewar is a knowo word for it), we as moderators should support healthy arguments and solve flamewars (luckily we don't have those).
