  1. @Zalor I'll be going back home by then. In terms of trip duration, if you're going to Japan for one week, then I think it's better to just visit Tokyo and also visit the area near Mount Fuji.
  2. I'm in Tokyo this week for holidays and regarding some of your questions such as electronics, food and trains; They said that Akihabara had alot of electronics, personally it was meh and just standard stuff you find everywhere. There's alot of nice otaku stuff though. There's a nice VR demo by Bandai in Odaiba, you should give it a go, unfortunately I didn't get to try it out because you had to book reservations in advance! http://project-ican.com/ Foodwise try eating barbecue beef (yakiniku) and sushi. Public transport is very accessible but it's pretty complicated so it might take some time to get used to it.
  3. Steam is important because there's an existing audience for visual novels. If your game doesn't get on Steam, your audience will be much smaller unless the developer group is already well-known already.
  4. Now live on kickstarter and steam greenlight! Kickstarter Link Greenlight Link
  5. So recently Team viewer got compromised and now this?
  6. I have no idea why they aren't moving on to modern forums such as Discourse or Flarum
  7. Haven't got a clue as to what features to update or add. I only updated the advanced search feature. Feeling a real itch to do some work on the site but can't figure out much.
  8. Released. Can be found here : https://store.steampowered.com/app/508230/Anime_Studio_Simulator/ http://i.imgur.com/Ub5OmJo.jpg Anime Studio Simulator (Simulation / Management) Well I decided to make a visual novel after playing around with Ren'py last month and also after reading up some of Diamonit's posts so here goes my first project! Kickstarter Link Greenlight Link About Anime Studio Simulator is a visual novel with simulation elements in the game involving the player managing a team. Throughout the game, the player must battle deadlines, stress, motivation and other resources like budgets to make their own anime. (Inspired by Shirobako ofc) The Story Yukari recently graduated from high school just like any other teenagers did. However, she has other more important things to do; making ANIME! With her investment funds, she plans to turn her dream into reality. Together with her friends, will Yukari make an unforgettable impression on the anime industry or collapse due to the pressure of directing her own anime series? Characters Yukari Role: Director Yukari loves anime and dreams of directing her own anime series one day. Filled with a strong sense of passion, she wants to produce anime that will be deeply rooted in the hearts of anime fans. Mayumi Role: Sound Director Mayumi is always lost in her own world of music even back when she was in school. Her interest in music stems from Vocaloid and she enjoys remixing and producing new sound tracks and uploading them on the Net. Mayumi is a close friend of Yukari and has known each other for a long time. Yuuko Role: Character Artist Yuuko is fascinated with drawing anime content and often spends her time online in Pixiv doodling sketches. Yukari scouted out Yuuko as a character designer on the Net when she started putting forth her plan into motion. Sumiko Role: Background Artist Sumiko is the younger sister of Yuuko. She enjoys bringing scenes to life and often collaborates with her sister. Shunsuke Role: Writer Shunnsuke used to be a member of the literature club and enjoys writing anime fan fictions. After noticing Yuuko’s plan, he approached Yuuko to join her team to be a writer. Our website is over here
  9. I really liked Squealer in Shinsekai Yori as a villian. He had a well fleshed out backstory with clear motivations and his actions are subjective. http://shinsekaiyori.wikia.com/wiki/Squealer
  10. There is a database underneath the application and it's using postgresql. I think you are confused about the whole thing. What I am describing about is Web Frameworks and also here. I also updated Musumaker here VNTLS status here.
  11. You do know that both websites are developed using totally different frameworks? It isn't as simple as just making a fork and editing stuff. VNDB is designed to be a database while Visualnoveler is designed more as a webapp. As for the translation status, most of the updates are coming from the reddit translation status update threads. I did a search for musumaker in VNTLS and I didn't see any results.
  12. I finally finished implementing all the translation data from 2008 to the present time. It should have a look similar to what VNTLS had in the past before they went inactive Visual Novel Translation Status Here's a sample of how a visual novel translation page looks like (Astral Air)
  13. Mayoiga is a pleasant surprise for this season.
  14. The review number is very important and should be put at the top of the page for users to have a rough idea of how the review's been written. Anybody who feels discouraged/lazy to read through the entry wouldn't just change their mind because the number was omitted. People are lazy and hiding the number won't change anything. To fix the indie / publisher / company issues. You can use tags! Add a big noticeable tag at the top of the review to show that it's a review at a specific category, i.e indie/etc etc
  15. Since the site will be shutting down and the data isn't difficult to parse, I just parse it for the visual novel archives which can be located at the visual novel page. On the other hand, the codebase for parsing data will likely be similar to as the one that parses the ongoing weekly translation status updates so it isn't that bad either.
  16. Sounds, interesting. I'll try to get things set up after I finish up my pending mobile game. How do you tell or differentiate a good writer? I'm definitely going for a commercial one and before I get the other things setup properly, I would have to hire a writer before hiring other members. What is a good rate/word to work with for an intermediate writer?
  17. I reached out to the developer and they mentioned that they would be giving me access to VNTLS's data. The hard part is probably to update the weekly translation status into the website.
  18. A pretty decent update I think? VNTLS integration coming up soon. General Changes Redesigned visual novel posters User biography now uses markdown syntax Improved user profile view Improved Autocomplete search functionality Selecting visual novel results after autocomplete will now take you directly to the page Forum and main website profiles are now synchronised when you log out and login Visual Novel advanced search genres are now sorted by name Add page to browse all reviews for a visual novel Visual novel library Add library background images. Their positions can be customized Default Tab for library is now playing All section in library is now sorted by name and status Added Backlog status You can now delete visual novels off your list by going to the visual novel page Average computed rating for Playing,Completed,Favourites and All below your library
  19. I think it would be a cost issue. They both burn funds like crazy and I think an average budget for a short visual novel would be around $1k?
  20. I think it's pretty detailed as it is. I read the whole thing from top to bottom. Maybe I should stop developing casual mobile games and work on a visual novel instead
  21. I also made you a signature while I was at it Hidden Content Thanks for the avatar
  22. I think you should go for it when you're still young, especially when your educational path is very important to your life and work affairs. For me, I started working on software development instead of business since that's way more exciting.
  23. Your art about Grimgar, Saber and Erased looks amazing! Keep it up man
