What are you listening to right now?
AaronIsCrunchy replied to Snowtsuku's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
This isn't the best rip, but Scab from the Grisaia no Kajitsu soundtrack is rapidly becoming one of my favourite soundtrack pieces. Dunno how much is due to association, but it's absolutely wonderful in its darkness. -
Well, I finally finished Amane's route last night on Grisaia no Kajitsu; it kept me up until about 4:30 in the morning, and I enjoy sleeping so that's most unusual. Really impressed with it overall. Makina's to go, and then I finally finish Grisaia... after only 5 months or so.

Visual novel genres and traits/fetishes that you cant stand
AaronIsCrunchy replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Nukige and hentai. Which makes this whole visual novel thing rather difficult sometimes. 95% of sex I've read in VNs is more or less the same kind of shit fundamentally, and imagining something where sex is the main focus just makes me wince, to be honest. -
Good, just checking

Not familiar with the rest of those, but Ovid's Withering bring the riffs HARD. I'm wearing my Ovid's shirt right now actually, good shit. If you're after good deathcore, are you familiar with this?

Still on Amane's route (Grisaia no Kajitsu); however, it's turned from something I genuinely considered abandoning into possibly one of the most gripping/depressing things I've read. It's... stunning in its inevitability.

I'm seriously impressed by the 4 people that have managed to get in. Or perhaps they never left...

Watched Teekyuu at the recommendation of a friend. I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna watch something as batshit crazy as that in a while...

Really fucking awesome Chinese black metal. They have this really bleak sound but they contrast it with a definitely traditional Chinese influence and it's just stunning... Or at least, Afterimage of Autumn is. Their newest is still pretty cool, but not on AoA's level. Put my favourite of theirs in a spoiler if anyone wants a listen ^.^

Top 10 metal bands? Crumbs, let's see... On a mixture of consistent quality output and, more importantly, jams, we have: 1. Fall of Efrafa 2. Ulcerate 3. Thou 3. A Forest of Stars (even though their newest was a bit... eh...) 4. Cult of Luna 5. Rosetta 6. The Ruins of Beverast 7. Darkthrone 8. Rorcal 9. Meshuggah 10. Cryptopsy (cos None So Vile just rips) We've talked music before but so much yes. @Kawasumi, Dopamine are indeed awesome too. You familiar with Zuriaake at all?

At least it's one day after and not on your birthday. That's something... right?

Half the problem. I've had three changes of plan since I've left school (I'm still a first year at uni because of it) and am now in a constant rut of believing that whatever choice I make will inevitably be the wrong one. Gone from accounting qualifications, to maths degree, to history degree, and now I'm starting to wonder if it's really what I want with my life too. Just a big old pile of ugh at the moment. Applied for a few jobs about a month ago (nowt major, just to make some money), but I didn't land any of them so I gotta just keep tacking away at that. Could always have a stab at volunteering somewhere if nowt else works. I have/had a job back home which was only a part-time thing but I really loved, so I kinda regret not sticking at that. Thanks though. It's summat to think about at any rate Cookies are top tier, good choice.

What is the one trait that makes you instantly like a heroine?
AaronIsCrunchy replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk

That one already exists. Released 1 year ago or so. They don't go chronological order here. Vol 1 -> 0 -> 2. Completely normal. -------> Joke If I'm honest, I only just got this too

My first was Katawa Shoujo, and it wouldn't be too far from the truth to say that it had a profound effect upon my life by more or less being the trigger for me getting into visual novels/anime/etc. It also acted as a neat little emotional release, which I needed at the time of reading.

Checking out Working! now - I'd never heard of it prior to your post yesterday. I'm already in love with it; just a shame that I don't have anything extra to look forward to once I finish.

I think it's really cool that they got a goat to do the song for it, really nice work. More Azuki is always a good thing as she's hilarious, but alas, no Maple storyline yet. One day...?

Eventually got around to playing the trial of this and... I dunno. Part of me really wanted to like it because that OP is glorious, the art is fantastic and the ambient sounds are brilliant (and that opening scene is so delightfully minging) but: It's a shame I'll never read it, because aside from the theme, everything else is truly fantastic.
