I would save my child, because the point in life when I would have children is the time when I've experienced all that I want in life. I want to explore the world and just have a lot of experiences in general. So at that point I'd be fine with saving my child, I'd do that so that they can have those experiences and live his/her life to the fullest.
And then they'll become a protagonist in a VN because of their tragic past.But to be honest, I'm not sure if I could actually save someone else, I've never done it before.
Yeah I have a similar goal to yours. Experiencing things in itself is a great thing even if it's bad. But I do prefer good experiences. Also, this is mostly a question of how you value your life compared to important people in your life so whether you can do it or not is not a problem.
I will save myself, Maybe i will ridden with guild and got emotional breakdown because of that. But i bet i wont think of that when this situation happened. When that said situation happened the first thing that will came up to my mind is my will to survive since i love myself so much.
I can always build up new houses with the corpses of my lost ones, be sick thought that is but i cant help it since i love myself too much.

What type of games were you searching for that weren't on VNDB?
Idk but my experience like this was with Agarest. That game had choices, flags, affection points, and heroine endings. The only one missing is the heroine route. That and it was gameplay heavy. I mean, the gameplay could take you around 300 hours to complete it and that's just gameplay alone.
Also it destroys the story and the translation was crap (not really related). The concept was good but it was executed horribly.
This question popped into my mind after searching some games at VNDB which I think belong to VN category but voila, those games aren't registered there. If my opinion of including those games as VNs is wrong, then what differentiate a VN from other games with dialogues/texts?
As for what differentiates it, idk you're comparing it to something too broad. Just about every RPG game has dialogues/text. Heck even some FPS games has them.
But for the sake of a glaring answer, it's the amount. VNs without gameplay is 99% dialog and 1% choices.

Nothing particularly interesting. As far as I remember, I've always been extremely selfish and no one managed to convince me that's not the optimal path for maximum happiness through my life (alongside with planning for the future, having a more or less balanced diet and keeping as much money as possible, of course. Just being selfish won't do you much good) . Though if you want experiences, a teacher who was obsessed with logic and rationality (who had a pretty strict moral code, actually... Though I never saw the logic in it) and being exposed to extreme poverty (without living in it, thankfully) since ever may have gotten me like this.

As for directly answering the question, beats me. I've never been close to married, but I've been pretty selfish when I've been in relationships. I would *like* to think I'd go with saving my own child over myself though, but I don't truthfully know if I'd have it in me.
I just hope that you'll have the resolve when you have the decision like this.

This is mostly how you honestly feel and how you value people's lives aside from yourself but if that's your take on this then it's all good. And yes, there are people who will fail to follow through but this is just a theoretical situation where you have time to rationalize on what you really want.

There are a lot of events where what people choose rationally is different from their choice in the actual event. Maybe it's because of the atmosphere or just the lack of time to think.

Myself, there's no question about it. I can't even think of how to explain it besides "My life is worth more to me than anyone else's". Never been particularly sad about anyone's death either... Also don't think I will in the future.

Orpha is still the best of the three. And Tokimi is the best heroine of that game.
That's one deep degree of being apathetic. I won't say that it's selfish since most people don't want to die but there's always a chance for that to change. I was the same back then until I got a dog. I loved that dog more than people and her death pretty much almost killed me. I was also apathetic back then, too, but one person changed that. Who knows? Life's a pretty long road and you might also have the same experience.

It's your choice so dw about it. I only want live until I'm satisfied so I'll gladly pass the baton at this point in my life. I don't mind dying early as long as I won't regret anything. They do say that happiness is a choice so you do have a point here. Being happy again after recovering from something like this is feasible.

Yeah this was shamelessly ripped from Eien no Aselia but I was really intrigued by this question. Believe it or not, I spent good 10 minutes thinking about my answer on this one. The question goes something like this:
"You are married to the woman/man you love and you have a happy family with one child. But this didn't last forever. You were suddenly hit by an accident and you can only save one. Who will you save; yourself, your wife/husband, your child?"
The choices are the same but I added the 'None' to mix it up a bit.
For some missing details, try to imagine the situation as your own in the future. On what is the most possible situation you'll have at this point of time. Your child can be a boy or a grill, whichever you prefer.
I hope you won't simply slap an answer and that's it. I'm curious to how will you reason your morals and views on why did you choose that specific person to save. We can discuss about our different answers and views but please try not to get butthurt too much. And people, try not to provoke others into it. I'm sure you guys are good enough to phrase it non-aggressively. I'd like to keep this as civil as much as possible.
Now to start off, my answer.
I'd choose my child. I'm sure that it'll be hell after he survives but at least he has some hope. I have my siblings and I'm very sure that they'll take care of them when I'm gone. Living without parents will be tough but he still has a long road ahead of him. I'll pray that he'll find his happiness like his parents. The reason why I didn't choose myself or my wife is because by this point of our lives, I'm sure that we already enjoyed the ups and downs in life.
I'm aware that this a bit too sentimental since the forums have a lot threads like

It mostly does because deredere heroine is a heroine that is honest with her feelings and isn't scared to show it.
Scratch Deardrops on my recommendations on this one. Osadai is definitely one since Yukino-tan openly declares his love for the MC. Utawarerumono also doesn't fit since it's mostly implicit expression.

Utawarerumono - An injured man wakes up in a village with no memory of who he is and an irremovable iron mask, tended by a cute girl. Regaining his strength he helps out around the village making the villagers lives better with technologically know how, such as crop rotation.
The local baron of the province comes by insults mc's new family and as a result mc rises up with villagers and overthrows the baron with superior strategy. The mc's kingdom expands throughout the game and being a nice guy and the protagonist of the story he gets all the girls.
Utawarerumono has a good storyline, the rpg gaming elements are pretty cool and there are lots of beautiful heroines.
Although I have to say that this one has no routes. So yeah, you'll be screwin' all the girls. I'm a fan of vanilla romance so I kinda hated this part of the game but if you don't mind it then try this one out. If you're a fan of old-style RPG then this one is a good choice. It's a bit lacking on some parts but it's still good.
Also, I just realized that most of the deredere heroines are childhood friends. If you don't mind that aspect then my suggestions above should work. If not, then you'll probably don't like those.

Started Eien no Aselia. I was already expecting the art to be really different from the VNs that are newly released but it was still out of my expectations. I haven't played any VNs as old (2003 release) as it but the art is really . . . different. Well it's still better than my stick drawing so I can't complain. The MC is a bit of a hothead but his reasons are somewhat understandable so it's fine. Idk why but glasses in VN really puts me off for some reason. I never found bespectacled girls good-looking (keep your pitchforks). No, I have nothing against glasses since I also wear one.

I liked the fact that they used some sort of language since he was slipped into another world. I was always wondering how aliens/monsters/some sort of non-earthling being always spoke Japanese but this one made it's own language. I think. Well I'm only bilingual but I believe it's a made-up language. They're still speaking sun runes so I have no idea what they're talking about. And apparently, thumbs up will get you an embarrassed reaction. idk why.

CnC = Constructive Criticism
Alright here it goes:
First of all, as much as possible, follow the rule of thirds. It helps greatly in having the viewer look at the intended part of the piece. It's applicable in almost everything unless you're really aiming for something complete different. Like some sort of a design where you have the subject at the center and having details (text) in either side.
Secondly, resizing renders. As much as possible, resize renders proportionally. You can do this by ctr+T then drag diagonally while holding shift. I'm not sure what you did this one since it looks like it was flattened but renders doesn't necessarily have to fit in the whole signature. Just the important parts (face, upper body, etc) whatever you think needs to be in the signature but fitting the whole thing isn't recommended.
Thirdly, text. As much as possible, try not to divide text. Put it in a simple way like having a main text and putting a sub text below. Separating them confuses the viewer and sometimes take away the attention from the render itself.
Fourthly, sharpening. This is a bit of a guesswork on your part since this can be too much or not enough. Try to sharpen the important parts but that doesn't necessarily mean the whole render. This is one way of sharpening.
Wow the way you sharpen things are really different. This is just how I sharpen things but you might want to try it out. It's a bit easier to adjust and has a bit more effect on the sharpening. You might want to only do this when you're already done.
1.New layer> Apply Image
2.Duplicate above layer 3 times. Hide the two topmost layers for now.
3.First layer (bottommost) Filter>Other>High Pass>15 px>Set layer on Soft Light>Adjust opacity as seen fit
4.Next layer above it Filter>Sharpen/Smart Sharpen>Set layer on Lighten>Adjust opacity as seen fit
5.The topmost layer Filter>Blur>Blur/Blur More>Set on Darken>Adjust Opacity as seen fit
Now here comes the real work other than clicking everywhere. To pick the only ones you want to be sharpened/blurred, apply a layer mask on the layers. For high pass and sharpen, fill the layer mask with black and brush over the parts you want to focus (the render and maybe the text) with soft white brush. For the blur, you could just copy the layer mask of the two (alt + left-click drag) and invert it (ctr+I).
You don't have to follow this since it's only one method. There are multiple ways you can sharpen and you should go with what fits best in your style.
Lastly, colors. I know, I'm not one to talk since most of the works I did here are monotone but that doesn't mean it's correct (I have tons of mistakes). Try to use different colors. You could search up complementary colors to know which colors fit together. Try to limit it to two tho. Handling three or more colors can be quite a challenge.
I also thought about blurring but this is mostly preference. I blur stuff to oblivion while others just do it subtly. Some also don't blur stuff at all and just darken stuff.

Render Style: Somewhat of a dark tone that captures the colours of Black and White (Mainly the colours that represents the keys of a Piano). It doesn't necessarily need to look dark nor majorly black and white in terms of saturation, but it's just preferable since the piano is the main theme~
Typography: Lexyvil (and perhaps a smaller text under or somewhere around it that says: Enhancing Feelings with Sound)
In case there's anyone here who makes signatures for a passion, I would love seeing something similar to my request~

The text on this one is kinda confusing with which is the main/sub text but it's kinda unreadable when scaled to the right size. I should've considered which text effects that I would use before starting the text. Simply slapping it with black and white didn't work so I just adjusted the saturation to a 'pale' one.
Is it just me or does it look depressing? I was listening to Yiruma so maybe that did something.

On a side note, does anyone here makes renders? I'm making some right now but it's honestly such a pain in the ass. I was wondering if no one knew of a "simple" way to do it.
There's a simple way. Request it from someone who renders.
But seriously, there are people who accepts requests for free since their usual release is a render anyway.
Everyone's having fun while I was asleep. Well putting that aside, the problem of some of the people unaware to specify some stuff should be fixed by the next addition by Rose. He's working on a lexicon for stuff related to this so keep your heads up people.
Rose is back and there are some people helping out. Things are starting to brighten up.
To be honest most Sig artists on Deviant would say any sigs amateur unless its like mine but I honestly prefer the characters sticking out more then blending in with the background
If you could put up some tuts regarding blending then that'll help us amateurs here.
Also you could still blend the character and the background and still have the focus on the character. Rule of thirds is necessary and adding a light source near the focal point should be enough while reducing the brightness away from the focal. You could just use a layer mask with a radial gradient. If that's not enough sharpening/blurring would finish it.
