I just noticed:

http://imgur.com/blog/2015/02/09/imgur-pro-for-everyone/

To celebrate Imgur's sixth anniversary they have decided to make Imgur Pro free for everybody

Here's all the things you can do with an Imgur account:

  • Store an unlimited number of images in your account
  • Receive multiple thumbnail options on all uploads
  • Access complete image analytics and referrer data
  • Manage, edit or delete any uploaded image at any time
  • Interact with the awesome Imgur community through commenting, voting and sharing

No more 225 image cap = no more micromanaging albums :kosame:

I really want to learn more about how imgur is managed. They have a pretty interesting story, and I'm interested to know where this decision came from. And what revenues/investment returns are compensating for this move.

Supposedly ads.

I'm guessing given Imgur's popularity, removing the 225 image cap will allow them to attract more people = more ad revenue.

Lel, that list of features was my bad guys. Context!

They were describing all the features that come with Imgur account now, not just Pro features.

I wish they'd fix the crash that came in in their last update. If I try to use the "browse" option to upload an image, after selecting the pic, Firefox will crash 100% of the time. The only way I can upload a pic now is by dragging and dropping it onto that frame. Incredibly annoying, and makes uploading more than 1 pic awfully slow. I don't know what they did to make FF crash, but it's pretty annoying.
