Zakamutt
Hoshimemo is well rated by a lot of folks, Run is a notable hater (but has decent reasons). I liked it myself. Endings are happy. Suzu Fanatic
Zantax
There is no harem, utsuge, triangles, bad ends or anything like that - it's just 'pure love'. Drama in most cases is just to give some dynamics or closure to the route.Yea, some drama is quite terrible (for me Asuho and Isuzu), but other are ok or even good.I would say though, that you can read this if having likable characters is enough for you. If you want also some engaging plot or interesting character development then look for something else.
Nosebleed
All the endings in Hoshimemo are happy endings, it's just the means with which you get to those endings that are usually full of silly drama. Some of the drama's decent though, and I still like Hoshimemo, but if you just want a happy go lucky story, I don't know if Hoshimemo is what you want lol. Suzu Fanatic
Personally, I'd say Ren's list is fairly accurate, but perhaps tinged with a negative mindset. (though it's true that Aoi is a bitch ) Â Identity, self-confidence, insecurity, unrequited love. These are the stronger dramatic traits throughout the stories - to lesser/greater extents. But the cast is (subjectivly) likable and normally behave in down-to-earth fashions - they just trip and fall sometimes, like anyone. Stormwolf
I'll give this a try. thanks! I just hope the drama doesn't feel as forced as implied here seeing as that's bad storytelling.  As said, i don't really mind drama, i just mentioned earlier the type of drama i don't want to read right now    Personally, I'd say Ren's list is fairly accurate, but perhaps tinged with a negative mindset. That would be a pathetic read.  Anyway, as i said, this VN is worth a short at least.
Zenophilious
Warning: it has quite the long intro, and it can get very repetitious at times with the gags. I lost track of how many times Chinami said, "Onii-chan onii-chan onii-chan!"  If that's the only drama you don't want to deal with right now, then you should be good. It's not exactly a dark story
Zantax
(...) (though it's true that Aoi is a bitch ) (...) I really liked Isuzu (why everyone insist on using her surname...). She is like a cute kitty that tries very hard to bite your fingers - you can't hate her for that! It's also not her fault, that her route is absolute garbage... I skipped her route, lol~ I think the problem is they didn't give me any real motivation to try - they didn't bother with a hint that peeked under her mask in the common route (at least to my memory)
Stormwolf
His post wasn't properly quoted for some reason :S  Fixed for you   Wait what? The one they lay out in the beginning as the main heroine is the only one without a route? What on earth is this?

Stormwolf
Ok, thanks. Doesn't sound like something to look forward too though the way you guys talk about it but i'll go ahead and play this. Â This is a bit off topic, but is the menu untranslated or something wrong with my game and patch?
Zantax
Mare is one of the cutest (loli) girl that you can find in VN and enough reason to read Hoshimemo, but sadly she doesn't have regular route... just short 'bonus' route. However you will meet her a lot in common route, and she is present (having smaller or bigger role) in every other girl route, so you will get your dose of moe anyway. Also true route isn't about Mare, so she isn't a 'main heroine' in a typical sense.

I've read stuff people said was great, that I found terrible - and vice versa.

Abyssal Monkey
Lame is an understatement, it was such a tacked on route I felt like the game flipped me the middle finger after all the shit it put me through lol.
Stormwolf
Well, sounds like i'm better off putting it on hold until the eternal heart has been translated. I don't know anything about it, but i know now that it expands on the routes. Sounds like this ends with a cliffhanger or something thats bad enough to piss people off. If it wasn't a 30+ hour game i wouldn't care, but investing so much time and getting some unfulfilling cliffhanger is not appealing. Â Guess i'll try Majikoi instead. At least both games are translated.

At least both games are translated. You're misinterpreting things lol. The problem with the last route is that it's basically just tacked on and feels very unfullfilling. Especially because you can only unlock it after completing all other routes, so it kind of makes you feel like all that effort wasn't very worth it, unless you really love Mare. But the game has a conclusion and a true route and everything ties in at the end, so you won't finish it thinking you just wasted all that time, unless you absolutely hate every single character. Â Eternal Heart is just h-scenes and random slice of life, it's not a requirement to enjoy Hoshimemo, and don't expect the project to be complete anytime soon, not in the next couple of years at least. Stormwolf
Ok, thanks for the clarification. I don't know anything about Mare, but as for what i see in the start, it's the person the main character is looking for so i guess i didn't want anything anticlimactic when i know the continuation is being translated atm. True route unlocking after the rest of the heroines in the end is nothing new to the genre. Â I managed to spoil something though. Typical search where the first thing you see is a major spoiler. It was pretty disgusting though, mare raping the MC. Can't say i like the girl after reading that, but we'll see where the VN heads

Can't say i like the girl after reading that, but we'll see where the VN heads I don't want to spoil too much, but let me just say you're already mistaken about certain things in the plot. You'll have to keep reading to figure it out though. Â Eternal Heart is not a sequel in the truest sense of the word, it's just extra porn for the game, it doesn't expand the game's original plot very much, and all the big mystery is already resolved in the original, so there's no real reason to wait for Eternal Heart, unless you love Mare. Stormwolf
Ok, then it's definitely no point waiting. But i've already decided to finish this VN now! Â Ohh, and i asked before. Is the options and such untranslated? It's only the main menu and in game text that's in English here, and all options are in Japanese.
