Here's the latest hkki binary for Windows https://github.com/xyzz/hkki/releases/download/140107/hkki.zip

Omg you're a lifesaver! :D I had a big number of scripts lying around which weren't compatible before and they all work now! :) I downloaded MinGW and have been trying to compile the stuff all evening, but the executable was giving me an error ;A; Shows some things are best left in the hands of people who know what they're doing XD

Just to be sure, there is no way to batch extract text as of now, right? I'm planning to extract the text of around a hundred files for a game and I'd feel silly if there were any way to do it in one go but I didn't know about it. :lol:

Hkki reads otomate's stcml2 files, I think. I managed to open wof2, wof2fd, gekka, dialove, shirohana, amnesia... There are probably more, though :D

So the wof problems are solved now? Great!

@Atikal: I managed to open Norn9,gekka,Dialovers (both haunted dark bridal and more blood), Toki no Kizuna,Hakuouki Zuisoroku (duh),Are you Alice?,Clock Zero,Princess Arthur,Brothers Conflict:Brilliant Blue and Jewelic Nightmare sofar. ;D

Oh yes! WoF2 and WoF2FD is a go! I've already started a translation (just a few lines) because I'm so madly in love with that series :)

Someone should let the girls at gbatemp know hkki can handle bcbb now...

It even opens a few ds games like hnk3 :D

Truly a miracle!

Wow, this topic was a big help! Can I ask for some help? T__T

I'm stuck at the same problem as Blue about the font width. From what I've read, I've to replace the game's font with the PSP original fonts.

I've got the PSP original fonts, but how can I make the game to use those fonts? Any hints on where should I start?

Thank you!

(by the way, it's WOF2FD)

Does anyone know of a tool that can repack cpk files with encrypted utf tables? The tool posted in this thread can only unpack them...

I would like to test if DiaLove game suffers from the same font issue as the rest of the games by otomate, but I can't even put the text back into the game :(

Also, is there a way to unpack an uni file, so that hkki can read it? Talking about WOF again...

Hi @Blue

I don't know if it helps, but the UTF decryption is:

		public byte[] DecryptUTF(byte[] input)
			byte[] result = new byte[input.Length];

			int m, t;
			byte d;

			m = 0x0000655f;
			t = 0x00004115;

			for (int i = 0; i < input.Length; i++)
				d = input[i];
				d = (byte)(d ^ (byte)(m & 0xff));
				result[i] = d;
				m *= t;

			return result;

(borrowed from the CRIToolpack C# project I linked earlier).

Normally, when you XOR a byte, applying the same operation twice reverts it to the original value. Therefore you would apply a "decryptutf" on the "cleartext" @UTF packet to obtain an encrypted one. Not sure if it works though, you may also try this one https://github.com/shinohane/cpktools.

I tried to use that cpk python script on Amnesia's instal.cpk but failed miserably... It's because I don't know how to python... Anyone knows some idiot-proof tutorial on running py scripts? I tried googling it, but I couldn't understand any of the answers (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)

I haven't tested it with python, but I believe, you can re-pack .cpk file with quickbms. Although I'd never tried it, the read me files tells that you can unpack and repack .cpk with same script in quickbms. I will write down the instruction from read me files, if you find it easy to use, you should use it then ;)

As already said QuickBMS is primarly an extraction tool, anyway from
version 0.4.9 it supports also the -r option that transforms the tool
in a simple reimporter/reinjector and so could be useful in some cases
for who wants to mod or translate a game.

The idea consists in being able to reimport ("injecting back") the
modified files in the majority archives without touching a single line
of the script, yeah just reusing the same bms scripts that already

Using this feature is really trivial and the following is an example

- make a backup copy of the original archive!

- extract the files or only those you want to modify (-f option) as you
  do normally via the GUI (double-click on quickbms.exe) OR via

    quickbms script.bms archive.pak output_folder

- do your modifications to the extracted files and I suggest to delete
  the files that have not been modified so that the reimporting process
  will be faster, so if you can it's better if in the folder you leave
  only the files you have changed
  note that their size must be minor or equal than the original!

- reimport the files in the archive via the GUI by clicking on the
  file called "reimport.bat" OR via command-line:

    quickbms -w -r script.bms archive.pak output_folder

- test the game with the modified archive

I repeat that you can use the GUI for the reimporting procedure, just
click on "reimport.bat" found in the quickbms package (it contains the
command quickbms.exe -G -w -r).

Another example:
- first use QuickBMS normally:
  archive.pak -> file1.txt
              -> file2.dat
              -> file3.jpg

- second step:
  - delete file1.txt and file2.dat
  - modify file3.jpg, for example adding a "smile" in it
  - save file3.jpg and be sure that it's size is SMALLER or EQUAL than
    the original

- third step, use the "reimport" shortcut provided in quickbms:
  archive.pak <- file1.txt  (doesn't exist so it's not reimported)
              <- file2.dat  (doesn't exist so it's not reimported)
              <- file3.jpg  (successfully reimported)

Here's the link to quickbms site (it also contains many script for other usage): http://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm

click: QuickBMS generic files extractor and reimporter 0.6; it's the download link for quickbms and the author also make a read me; a tutorial file which for me, it's really helpful and understanable. And for .cpk script (you needed this one); search for CRI CPK archives (script 0.3) (*.cpk); and click it.

I'd tried unpack .cpk for Amnesia; Amnesia Later; and Amnesia Crowd game, then succesfully got the scripts with hkki :)

Ah, by the way, me and my team already making a translation progress for Amnesia (PSP) at http://hanatabatranslation.wordpress.com

We still looking for hacker (game and ASM hacker) and proofreader. And Blue-san also already part of our team, she translating Ikki route ;)

It depends on the game. Some use already known engines, some don't. Some are more easy to reverse, some are harder. In any case, just extracting the text is not that hard (unless there's encryption or really odd binary formats), but without reinsertion there's no fun. Anyway, feel free to post here games you're willing to pick up, there's a good chance someone will help you.

Thank you for the files! You truly are a hero!

1. Hiiro no Kakera series:

ヒイロノカケラ 新玉依姫伝承 (Hiiro no Kakera Shin Tamayori Hime Denshou)

* ヒイロノカケラ 新玉依姫伝承 ―Piece of Future― (Hiiro no Kakera Shin Tamayori Hime Denshou -Piece of Future-)

真・翡翠の雫 緋色の欠片2 ポータブル (Shin Hisui no Shizuku Hiiro no Kakera 2)

蒼黒の楔 緋色の欠片3 ポータブル (Soukoku no Kusabi Hiiro no Kakera 3)

白華の檻 緋色の欠片4 (Shirahana no Ori Hiiro no Kakera 4)

GOT SCRIPT! But not translating, since it's been localised (as "Scarlet Fate")

2. Amnesia series:

* Amnesia Later

* Amnesia Crowd

3. Wand of Fortune series:

ワンド オブ フォーチュン ポータブル

ワンド オブ フォーチュン 〜未来へのプロローグ〜 ポータブル

ワンド オブ フォーチュン2 〜時空に沈む黙示録〜

ワンド オブ フォーチュン2 FD 〜君に捧げるエピローグ〜

Everything is for PSP and everything is made by Otomate.

What I would like to have is a clean script from those games, just this much. I know it's super hard to reinsert text and make the game playable, but I just so, so want some clean text files I can work with. Ultimately I would love to release a walkthough containing the translations, so that people can print it out or something, and read along

So if anyone could help me here, I would really appreciate it.

Where did you find scripts of amnesia crowds??? I'm searching for them so please could you say me where did you find them?

This game uses UNI as its container (format is known, described here, deuni.py to extract) and stcm2l for scripts (hkki can handle it); reinserting text shouldn't be very hard.

I need some help with deuni.py. I try to extract .uni, but i have this result.

D:\UNION>gistfile1.py –x source.uni
