Recommend me a Charage

Haven't been able to find a good old fashion Charage, last one I finished was I believe Comyu, however I do think Comyu was more story focused than romance focused so perhaps it wouldn't be considered Charage.

Anyways, what shall the weab masters give me to indulge my introverted existence? I do prefer romance over story for now.

PS: Just look at my VNDB if you want to know what I have already read.

I'd suggest playing DeardropsHoshizora no Memoria and possibly Symphonic Rain and ef - a fairy tale of the two

Deardrops is a good light-hearted charage if that's what you're looking for

Hoshimemo is more on the moege side of things, but it'll act like a true charage when it counts

Ef has some great romance, characters and values

Symphonic Rain has one of the best 'charage-like' interactions on the translated VN scene

Comyu probably doesn't fit that category but who cares. "Charage" is a weird weeb nonsense term that I'm pretty sure was invented in the west and no one really knows what it means but we still use it anyways because it makes our shabby VNs sound more important. :makina:

My top rated charage is Grisaia, my second top rated is Little Busters. I think LB is a good VN to start with to see if you enjoy Key's particular brand of melodrama, the group dynamic is really enjoyable. It has a crazy long common route but that's part of the appeal to me. You go to charage for the character interactions, after all, and LB is full of great ones. It is a little bit light on actual romance, though. Not every route has a strong romantic focus, and notably the true route is pretty light on it.

ef is a pretty good romance melodrama if that's what you're looking for. It's one of the purest, most focused romance VNs translated to English and it does a pretty good job at it with some ridiculous production values.

You could also go for an Overdrive VN like Kira Kira or Deardrops. They're both musically themed and have a bit of a different feel from most charage, in that they don't really focus too much on high school SoL (there's a little bit of that in Kira Kira but not much) and I think they're pretty decent overall.

Symphonic rain is probably the best character drama of the bunch suggested here, though there's no porn if that's a dealbreaker for you. However, as you seem to be looking for something more sappy... Da Capo I and II might be up your alley given what I've heard about them, and you may be able to stomach the protagonist abuse in Ikikoi (Hey, I enjoyed it, stop the *triggered* pictures). Hoshizora no Memoria is good as well, though some may find the repetitive comedy jarring.

Charage, eh? Maybe it mean the VN that focused on the character or had route, so I think I'll recommended it based on my definition here. First, even though Root Double was full of sci-fi and the premise escape from danger, I'd recommended it because according to some review that I'd read it was had some focus on character (Beside it was good VN anyway). Second, since Decay recommended Little Busters, how about the other KEY games (Kanon, Air, Clannad, and Rewrite) here? Also how about Dracu Riot too, even though it's only 90% translated as of now (Of course you could pick it later). And for the last, how about VN for every beginner Katawa Shoujo here. I think that's all for my recommendation, and hopefully it could help you to find your next charage.

Overdrive ones (Deardrops and Kira*Kira) are somewhat laid back, but drama rears its ugly head at some point (it's not a major point though). They're among the most enjoyable VNs I've read.

ef has the disadvantage (or maybe advantage) that characters keep changing from chapter to chapter, it's a collection of stories. As Little Busters, they focus on building a lovable cast of characters and tell their stories. Bad thing is quality varies noticeably, and there's quite a gap between the high schoolers' romance and their seniors'. But it's a nice collection of romances.
