The last game I played was Stellaris... what would Gonda do in Stellaris? Play intergalactic (and possibly planetary) bass? I dunno.

I'd bring over random crap that I'm inexplicably curious about. Stuff like Toppara, Bokusora, Mainichi ga M!... oh yeah, and both Qualia VNs, just for the art.
-
Grisaia at least has a decent story at its core, even though I would never genuinely recommend it. Evangile is just the blandest moe crapfest*.
* - I'm not actually done reading it yet, but I highly doubt that 1.5 remaining routes will suddenly change anything.

Yeah, with Clannad you just sort of have to endure all the shit to get to After Story, which is worthy of praise (well, about a third of it, at least).

I was pretty sure they were going to continue with the whole kitsune shebang and I guess I was correct
Unfortunately, they appear to be filthy peasant catgirls and not glorious kitsune master race.

Thanks again for all the recommendations (also, I've seen Death Note and it was good, at least the first half before the thing).

Seen it. It was okay, but not good enough to make it to the good list. Relied too much on western sci-fi tropes wackified by Japan (dat fridge episode made me facepalm... but I wasn't annoyed, just bemused). Style very much over substance. But a decent one nonetheless.
Thanks for all the recs so far!

Oh, I actually started that one, stalled after one episode and forgot all about it. I should get on that, thanks!

It's been a while since I last bothered to watch anime, so what the heck, I might as well ask. I haven't seen much anime in general, so that makes it easier for you.
What I generally like: Serious stuff, really. Or at least original and/or thought-provoking in some way. Social commentary in particular gives me a raging boner. Dystopian settings alone can elicit a serviceable semi as well.
Shows I particularly enjoyed:
- The Tatami Galaxy (very original and just generally refreshing)
- Darker than BLACK (first season at least, it was kinda cool)
- Ghost in the Shell (especially the first movie, the rest was also okay, I guess)
- Welcome to the NHK (social issues, somewhat relatable characters, all that lovely stuff)
- Madoka (well, it's Madoka!)
- Fate/Zero (the only Fate series entry I genuinely loved)
- Mononoke (originality up the wazoo)
- Baccano (I'm also a sucker for character studies and ensemble casts)
- Haibane Renmei and Paranoia Agent (appreciated those two as very solid works)
Shows people thought I would like but I didn't (much):
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I was told it's a science fiction show, and then it turned out to be glorified tedious slice-of-life with people using their supernatural abilities for playing fucking baseball, thus making all this supernatural gloss essentially pointless... I've got a whole bunch of other problems with Haruhi, but I won't bore you with them)
- Psycho-Pass (started brightly, then ruined everything in one fell swoop with that idiotic reveal that shifted focus of the show from important things to irrelevant bullshit... I must be the only person who preferred season 2)
- Elfen Lied (blood stains do not sufficiently cover up the vapid plot)
- Monster (rubbed me the wrong way throughout with its sanctimonious drivel, then just copped out of all important questions and split)
- Durarara (I kinda liked it when it started out as a character-focused ensemble piece in the vein of Baccano, but then [spoilers] were revealed as [spoilers], the whole thing focused on them and I couldn't take it seriously anymore... never got around to starting season 2, and probably won't)
So there it is... Please gimme something to watch, and I'll probably shit all over it later.

No such thing as a perfect VN for me, as I can always find something to whine about. Chaos;Head comes pretty damn close though, as does Sharin no Kuni.
As for the worst... I've read some truly terrible VNs in my time (the likes of Idols Galore!, Gibo, Little My Maid, etc.), but after applying my magic formula of terribleness x expectations/reality x inexplicable popularity = worst VN, the answer is Shuffle!

The closest thing to "favorite accessories" that I can think of is Tomoko's entire cat-themed gothic lolita design from Canvas2. Ironically, I publicly lamented the fact that they chose to make her hilarious "stray cat" personality EXTREMELY FUCKING OBVIOUS by adding tons of cat-related touches to the actual design. But hey, at least I liked the look.

Am i blind or has no one said mahouka koukou no rettousei yet? Tatsuya Shiba (the mc) is the most OP thing ever. Like so op it almost makes him a bad character.
There's nothing "almost" about him. He's one of the worst examples of godawful wish-fulfillment protags.

Oh yeah, just remembered another one that really got to me. Kara no Shoujo.

Princess Evangile. When it was first announced, I didn't think much of it. Then a bunch of people started saying how it was better than it would appear at a glance. So far... it's not. It's really doing my head in.

I dug a bit and I got Dainibungeibu Band as a result
That's the name of the in-story band, so it doesn't really explain anything. I always just presumed that it's milktub (bamboo's band) with additional session musician friends of theirs. But good luck finding anything more about them. AirI does Kirari's vocals, unless I'm massively mistaken.

Overly dependent and clingy characters for sure. There's a reason why Elis from Canvas2 tops my list of shit heroines (and Nemu from Da Capo is a very close second).

If nothing else, her outfit is certainly one of the most iconic VN outfits ever.

I tried to get into the habit, but it just feels too weak compared to black tea.

Yume Miru Kusuri: The characters were extremely shallow and the scenarios didn't make sense half of the time.
I liked it in general, but I'll never forget how the "catgirl" route inadvertently delivered the message that was the exact opposite of what it was supposedly intended to convey.
Where to go next? (my third VN After KS and S;G)

No offense, but in your threads you seem to limit yourself for reasons I cannot understand. You've got a whole world of VNs to savor, but you keep making these lists with very few options. So I'm going to ignore your list altogether and recommend other things!
For cutesy moe stuff with serviceable plot (since you considered Evangile before), I'd personally recommend Da Capo 2. It's one of the benchmarks of how these things should be done for me. If you want tons of cute characters (and much more sex), try Koihime Musou (MangaGamer currently has it on sale as well). One of my favorite oldtimey VNs is Crescendo. It's short but pretty good, and I like the flashback-heavy narrative. Canvas2 is another VN I'm partial to, but I'm in the minority. Same goes for Edelweiss (if you don't mind puerile humor).
For more plot-oriented stuff, there are Sharin no Kuni, Chaos;Head, KiraKira, Suika A.S...
But I guess the point is, it seems more productive to me if you just ask for recommendations rather than come up with these restrictive lists.
