Site Work Failed, But We Didn't Die
Ugh. Still more roadblocks. Need to get an as-yet unknown password from Nay in order to get this sucker changed. For now, please enjoy the mess of a forums we've got, and dream of the forums we will probably never one day have.

First VN I ever played: Pro Lesring Ring-Out!! What I thought about it: I didn't. -
Except for Love Saga, which is one of the laziest routes ever.

Countdown to Princess Evangile W Happiness!!!!!
Ariurotl replied to Saggz's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I think it's extremely generous to call Rise a tsundere, cause that implies she has a personality. -

Best Visual Novel Contest --Semi-Finals Voting-- (4 VNs left)
Ariurotl replied to NowItsAngeTime's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Wait, Grisaia was up against Clannad? All my lols. I can't possibly tell which one I dislike more. It's probably Clannad tho. Grisaia is not quite as bad. On the other hand, Clannad has this small bit of After Story which is actually pretty great... argh. -
Best Visual Novel Contest --Semi-Finals Voting-- (4 VNs left)
Ariurotl replied to NowItsAngeTime's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Yeah, out of the 4 remaining titles I vaguely dislike two and haven't read the other two. #shittasteconfirmed EDIT: Oh, and they're arranged in such way that I can't even vote for any of them, cause the two I have read are in the different semi-finals. -
The original anime was based on Saber's route, the UBW movie and the UBW anime were based on Rin's route. There's a movie in development (I think, not really paying too much attention) based on Sakura's route. Either way, I think there's enough content in the VN to justify reading it if you like the franchise.

OVERDRIVE fanboy (well, more like fanoldman) here. -
Everywhere, really. There's bloody people everywhere on the internet, I couldn't avoid meeting them if I tried!

Saya no Uta is the lovecraftianiest of VNs.

Best Visual Novel Contest --Nomination Thread-- (crossover with /r/visualnovels)
Ariurotl replied to NowItsAngeTime's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Grisaia will win this, right? -
I'll be honest, I'm almost tempted to get it just to get more details about the dystopian world those catgirls seem to live in. It's infinitely more interesting than whatever drivel passes for the actual story in these VNs.

Yeah, it's ridiculous to even suggest the conveyor belt of well-packaged turdburgers is ever going to stop as long as people pay for more.
-
Nope, I didn't take a screengrab but it certainly did trend, first in Japan and then worldwide (albeit not for long and near the bottom of the trends list).
-
I'm genuinely surprised Ever17 is that popular. It trended worldwide on Twitter, made me think I turned on tailored trends by accident or something.

J-List and their poor handling of VN products
Ariurotl replied to Thatcomicguy's topic in General Discussion
Never heard of any widespread problems with those titles except for the MGITP fandisc, which was a total mess on every level and reportedly required Japanese locale to work correctly. Therefore I'd hazard a guess that you're doing something wrong, but JAST support may be to blame as well, since it's their job to make sure you get to run the VNs properly. Unless you wish to discuss your problems with them in more detail, my answer is: No, I've never had issues with digital releases from JAST/J-List, I managed to run and read everything I bought from them with no issues whatsoever. The only time I had to contact support (to restore my account after a couple of years of inactivity), they got back to me quickly and transferred all purchases to my new account without any problems. -
