    Finished Amane's route in Grisaia.

I've always been a fan of survival stories, so I quite enjoyed Angelic Howl. If anything, I think they stretched it out a little too much sometimes, but Kazuki and Amane interactions make up for it.

At a certain point it gave me "Alive!" vibes (when Kazuki says to Amane "if I die feel free to eat me" :michiru: i woild totally eat Kazuki, tho in another kind of way... . I expected cannibalism to be brought in one way or another, though I don't know... if feel like it went a little over the top at the end. I expected shit to hit the fan at some point, but what I mean is that it could've been done a little more realistic perhaps? My personal preferences at least, that is. Same case with the madman at the end; too much of a histrionic personality, impossible for me to take it seriously.

    Spoiler

That flashback scene still kinda haunts me. The music that played throughout (Scab/Kasabuta), is forever burned into my memory.

Also, it took quite a bit of willpower to push through that flashback. Because it lasted for hours, and hours, and only slowly got more depressing. That bit about eating the maggots out of the wound on her head was particularly bad...

Back on topic ...... finally finished every route on Wagamama High Spec (unrated). Now, as good as those H scenes were, they were a tad overdone (actually, more then a tad overdone). Ashe is best girl, though Mihiro .... ties for cutest girl ever.

  2. I hate magpies!! :reeee:

All they friggin' DO is sit outside my window, and make this repetitive high pitched chipping noise every half a second. These birds are also prone to randomly divebomb anything they don't like (generally includes people and pets).

I've seriously wanted to buy some sort of super soaker gun, and just goto town on those birds! I've wanted to do this in the past to pigeons as well.

  3. Grisaia has a few sidestories (The Leisure of Grisaia, and the Idol Magical Girl series). Nice if you want more Grisaia, or just more ChiruChiru (she's my most favourite character ever) :michiru:

I've only played a small handful of VN's, so I can only recommend Kono Oozora ni Tsubasa wo Hirogete (If My Heart Had Wings) https://vndb.org/v9093, and Wagamama High Spec https://vndb.org/v17823. Both games are more light hearted then Grisaia in general.

If My Heart Had Wings is pretty good. Some of the flying scenes are breathtaking, and the music is good. The plot is pretty good despite it being light hearted. The eroge scenes were pretty good too.

Wagamama High Spec is even more light hearted. It's a parody on eroge and manga in general. And the eroge scenes are pretty high quality (this is the game to get if you really want some fap material). In fact, there's almost too much eroge here...

I guess I'll post some of my VN wishlist too (VN's I'm considering playing in the future):

    * Steins Gate (probably the gold standard when it comes to gripping and engaging plots).

    * CLANNAD. I've heard nothing but great things about this.

    * Doki Doki Literature Club! (don't let this seemingly happy looking game fool you....).

    * Himawari https://vndb.org/v210. Apparently the remake is recommended (even though it doesn't have the +18 content). And apparently it's feels will hit you like a truck.

    * G-Senjou no Maou https://vndb.org/v211. I seriously can't wait for this crime thriller (I'm waiting on the unrated version with bated breath).

    * Subarashiki Hibi ~Furenzoku Sonzai~. +18 patch unlocks 90% of the story too. Apparently this VN is pretty disturbing....

    * D.S. -Dal Segno. https://vndb.org/v17742 Looks like a typical eroge romcom.

    * Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort https://vndb.org/v13046. Another eroge romcom.

    * Nekopara series. If you want cat girls, and lewd action xD

  4. Hmm, where do I start?

H scenes are one of the reasons I got into VN's (one of the reasons I picked up Grisaia no Kajitsu in that Steam sale earlier this year). And obviously I enjoyed that game far more for it's plot (and feels and characters) more then anything else. The H scenes were just nice bonus material. Also ...... I don't get much actual experience, so I've learned far more about foreplay then I would have otherwise (I actually find the foreplay more interesting for some reason).

And, there's also the censorship issue. Grisaia no Kajitsu all ages censors far more then just the H scenes apparently. For some VN's, the +18 version is the better version, merely because of the censorship.

Now some games do overdo it on the H scenes. Wagamama High Spec comes to mind for me. Though that game is a parody on manga and eroge in general, so that's kinda the "point" of that VN. Just like it's obvious what the "point" of Nekopara would be (I havn't played that yet xD).

  5. I'm playing through Wagamama High Spec currently myself.

    * Very light hearted (even more light hearted then something like If My Heart Had Wings).

    * Cute Music and great artwork.

    * Parodies Manga and Eroge in general (also has a skyrim reference 10 mins in).

    * Unrated version of the game has particularly good fap material and H scenes, even compared to other Eroge.

    * Saru plays the "comedic male" role particularly well xD

Well, this whole stuff with cellular memories really threw me off originally. I mean, I wouldn't call Grisaia a realistic story, the rest of the VN tries to be more or less down-to-earth. And when it threw so obviously pseudoscientific topic, to me it looked really weird. Another moment I didn't particularly like is that characterization of some characters was pretty inconsistent with the other routes.

I personally think it would work better if they just made it regular multiple personalities. And, in the end, I still liked this route.

And yeah, Michiru is the best girl.

Yep, Michiru is best girl! I just love her voice and random antics.

I just finished Makina's route in Grisaia no Kajitsu. Overall I enjoyed it, but as I was priorly aware there are many people who are not too fond of the ending, and I can see why.

I could easily criticize the decisions Yuuji made. Come on, it's not that hard to get your priorities right:

First and foremost don't let Makina die, that much I can understand. But secondly, don't die yourself. I get it, Yuuji has the emotional intelligence of a water flea, but come on man, it's not that hard to figure that Makina'd be rendered mentally broken if once again the most important person for her died trying to protect her. Keeping that in mind, he should avoid unnecessary risks that don't guarantee Makina's safety. Like, ehem, killing her mother. BUT, if you have truly mulled it over and reached the conclusion that it's indeed the best option, then go on and kill the freaking bitch dead. The choice that leads you to the bad ending doesn't make any sense. I'm 100% sure that in that situation killing her was the reasonable choice, and the only reason why it shoves you into the bad ending is due to stupid moral correctness, why I'm certainly not too fond of. I mean, if you don't slay that bitch right there, you are gonna die, and Makina's gonna follow, fucking up your two most important priorities, what the fuck were you thinking in the first place when you decided to infiltrate in the Irisu's HQ?

Anyway, I might get pissed off when characters behave in stupid ways, but that is by no means bad writing or something, since it actually fits Yuuji's character pretty well the more I think about it. However:

Ok, so now Ichigaya's got a hold of some juicy intel about the Irisu family that I assume they'll use to their interest, and because of that Makina will be protected as an important witness. Hold on, but haven't they accepted the request from the Irisu family to assassinate her? Presumably the Ichigaya knew why they issued that order, or at least JB did since she was the one who told Yuuji about Makina's threat to her mother. If Ichigaya was willing to ditch the job in exchange for the information about Irisu's corruption scandals, couldn't Yuuji have tried to negotiate with them from the very beginning? Come on, Yuuji is oblivious when it comes to personal relationships, but he wouldn't overlook that rational line of thought.

*Sigh* I had to get this off my chest. Sorry for the ramble guys :michiru:

Next route I'll be playing... Amane's or perhaps Sachi's, I dunno. Any suggestions?

Sachi's, and especially, Michiru's routes are emotional rollercoasters (compared to the other routes). I teared up in both routes actually. Amane's has an amazing flashback though (that left one heck of an impression).

As for Yuuji's decisions in Maki's route, well the Grand route in Labyrinth of Grisaia sheds some light on that...

  8. Got to my third route in Wagamama High Spec. Time for the Tsundere route (which are always fun xD).

While the fap material in this game is excellent, I'm kinda getting burned out on the H scenes (which typically last almost an hour).

Next VN I play, I want some actual plot thanks (and some feels too).

  9. Lucky for me, I have plenty of time. Too much time even. I was able to binge 86+ hours in Grisaia in under 2 weeks. I havn't binged that hard on a game since Disgaea 5.

Still playing Wagamama High Spec https://vndb.org/v17823 . I ended up flagging Mihiro's route. I thought she was kinda pushy and clingy at first. I didn't expect her to be this frigging Adorable though! Just on looks and cuteness alone, she might be one of my favorite heroines.

  10. I've heard there is no Oblivion after we die. There is no Hell either (consider Hell a man made invention). We're eternal beings, and we merely change form.

At least that's what I read when reading the "Conversations with God" trilogy (which actually had a 4th book come out recently). By the way, despite the title, the trilogy has NOTHING to do with religion (though it is discussed a bit). The "God" with the author communicates with could also be thought as universal intelligence.

I highly recommend it. It's given me a lot of peace of mind.

  11. I can't get a job. I will NEVER get a job (at least not a conventional one). I don't even WANT a conventional job now. My last attempt (17 years ago) at doing well in college earned me abysmal marks, and a decade and a half of depression (that approached suicidal levels once or twice). And me binge playing Unreal Tournament (and a few other games) was the only thing that got me through those times.

Still, I think I did a hell of a lot better then almost everyone else would have in that situation. I stayed sane, and didn't get hopelessly addicted to something. Now if I could banish my cynic self, and get some sort of online job, I'd be set forever.

So ...... yeah. At least I've always had a great sense of humor.
