I know they wanted to do kickstarter for physical edition, just never saw anything about them giving up on the kickstarter idea due to backlash.

Hm...maybe i saw it somewhere else on their forums or sth but might've just remembered it wrong

When they did ask about kickstarters most people said no though

That's a bit sad, i really do like her character after all, one of my favorite in this category of childhood friends.

You've already done what could be considered the 'best' route because in Tsukishima's one, minor spoilers-

other than him being a dick to her for that one day when his friend egged him on, he is pretty decent in her route. In most other routes however...not so much, Maya's route is 'fixed' by the afterstory somewhat and Prez's route is ok, not the best

    :vanilla:

Also since you mention childhood friend, the one in "If you love me then say so" is one of the best i've read :sacchan:

Unfortunately you can't, because it'll broke your PC/laptop. That said, I think Yukino's after story here did sort of redeem the route here, although obviously you can only enjoy that after all the route thing is over. Also apparently Tone Work's did REALLY get the not on HatsuKoi's bad reception, so they decided to improve childhood friend as hard as possible and I think you can see their effort in Marika's route at Hoshiori later if you compared it with Yukino's route.

seems so, even in Giniro Haruka from what i've read, they've learnt from their mistakes in Hatsukoi (although MC in that is apparently too flawless)

There's a lot of animosity and even boycott against Sekai. Like Lesiak said, I don't see the benefit in them going under.

I guess there are some people who will say, "they did shit work, they had it coming" but that's a rather extreme view.

Anyway I've seen all kinds of things said against Sekai.

I mean, if people boycott Sekai before Winged Cloud, they're pretty twisted.

This reminds me a bit of the console war, and that's quite sad.

Boycotting them because "they're a mess" will put the final nail on their coffin. Why not help them in their time of need if something they release appeals to you. No, we must send them to oblivion because they... Er... What they did again? I thought they were just another company, with their own misgivings.

I would agree with you 3 or 4 years ago but now there's other companies ready to take their place

rather support someone like Nekonyan than Sekai at this point and what do you mean by support anyway, buying all the crap they release instead of good titles?

They also haven't communicated about a lot of stuff either, why is Leyline 2 delayed again? If you look at a post thats from more than a year ago now they were apparently 87% done...? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/a-clockwork-ley-line-a-visual-novel-trilogy/posts/2023733

Literally 0 updates after that other than saying 'Engine porting is difficult'. Imagine how the kickstarter backers feel.

Also depends on what interests me, nothing Sekai released in whole of 2018 is interesting (note VNs are a very low priority hobby of mine, below a lot of other things)

They are becoming the new JAST

Started this as well, i went first with Tsukishima, mc-kun was mentally challenged but i could get over it. Now doing Yukino's route, and my only question is this: Can't i just freaking strangle this guy already?

    oh boy that route

    Yukino minor spoilers

Thats the worst version of the MC, esp towards the end also Yukino is one of the worst childhood friend routes i've ever read

How about Yuuki's reverse confession? I haven't been able to get that one yet

Yuuki's reverse confession is fairly complex, first you need to plan her birthday in Naturale and then you need to watch Mahiru on TV on a cooking show which unlocks the scene that you need to help her cook and as a reward she gives you concert tickets, thats the key to getting the reverse confession.

I suggest following the Japanese walkthrough (just google translate it) because it took me a while to do it alone lol

That's some 4D chess level pathfinding, good god.

I would find it a lot less appalling if I could open the menu in the choice screen. Being unable to load from there is the worst.

Afaik just do the scene 'Greatest crisis of my life' followed by 'Grandpa attacks' that should trigger the additional volleyball stuff (Btw important scenes are always labled with a '(!)')

I just started reading it, and...

Blinking sprites are back! I'm in love :Chocola:

Had to wait 20 years for that... (last time I saw it was in DOS VNs from old JAST, like Sakura no Kisetsu...)

Edelweiss had it i think, moving mouths and blinking

kinda stupid when they dont match the voice lines though lol

This VN seems pretty lackluster given the amount of effort they had to put to get it out lol, delayed by almost a year i think?

Sol Press should stop going for these obscure titles imo, sales cant be that good

As for Sekai, while their releases was not as big as last year, actually they still release some interesting VNs such as aforementioned Maitetsu (If you can see past the loli and censorship mess) and Fatal Twelve. Also as for nukige, I admit that Bokukotsu there did have some good production value compared to most of Mangagamer's nukige. And as for releases number, actually it rivaled Mangagamer's release number looking from VNDB list. I agree though that even with the numbers here, Sekai releases for this year is very underwhelming compared to both of Nekonyan and Mangagamer's releases, at least that's what I think.

PS - As for Makeover, yeah it's quite obvious that they'll release it at December 2019 later for the earliest simply because there'll be a lot of work to do, and we still didn't see the progress yet. As for Makeover, I decided to use that nickname because just shortened it as either ML or MakeLover sounds wrong lol.

That was my point Nekonyan made 2 big releases and a third already has a release date in only a month with a Fandisc coming somewhere in between as well, Mangagamer has been steadily releasing stuff the whole year with some being nukiges and short releases but had 3 major releases, started off strong with Socery Jokers, then Hapymaher and ended with the very decent If You Love me then say so

and then there's Sekai who still doesnt have a release date for Leyline 2 when they said they they aimed for Q2 2018, i pity anyone who crowdfunded that and thats just one example
