  1. It's the same people as the ones who buy shitty games or watch shitty movies just to say, "OH MAN THAT WAS SO AWFUL." on social media or some other crap. By doing that you're promoting more garbage to come out.
  2. That boring normal guy was another reason I didn't like that VN
  3. Yeah it makes sense. Some peoples morals are really strict even if it's fictional. I skip h-scenes since they really do nothing for me. I just enjoy the humor of how Rance thinks and gets to that point. Usually the logic makes no sense but it's funny how he convinces himself he is doing nothing wrong.
  4. Yeah I've seen both arguments to that. The game does have a story and some twist also. Wouldn't say the story is that depth but since there are 9+ Rance games there are a lot of history to the lore of the world and it's characters. The game really is about the characters interaction with the most ridiculous MC and how he shapes the world. By design Rance is just a comedy, but some people might like that type of comedy. I mean my sister thought it was mean when Rance just killed some random NPC who was explaining the rules of the area that he didn't agree with. I thought it was funny because you would never expect a MC who suppose to be the hero to do such a thing.
  5. I never once got stuck in Sengoku Rance, but I can see how it's possible if you ignore some parts too long. Personally I skip all the h-scenes in most VN including Rance series, so the rape scenes isn't a big deal. Still those rape scenes are not really serious either, but more comedic with the girl eventually going along with Rance antics. I mean the music is silly and Rance acts like an idiot throughout it. I laugh the most from Rance series over any other VN. There's something really funny about a MC thats really strong, incredibly arrogant, no morals, silly, and super horny. His bat shit crazy personality makes for some funny ass interactions with everyone else being quite normal in the series. Majikoi is pretty funny also, especially Yukie and her double personality. Although the vn does have quite a bit of drama and some scenes really drag on. I'm also not a fan of how every male character is a weakling compared to the girls.
  6. I'm sure you've already played this but Planetarian is pretty much that.
  7. Would a VN game count? To me the Rance series is really funny and not too serious. But Im sure everyone here has already played Sengoku Rance.
  8. Ever17 has too much text. Like I don;t give a shit how this fictional place or thing works. Just stfu and get on with the story. They literally make a essay about how a door opens or something.
  9. Saya no Uta Ever17 are the only two other mind games VN I've played. They dont have heavy amounts of plot twists though.
  10. I just interpret the title a little differently. I was under the impression of introducing someone to VN who aren't into anime already. Most people who know nothing about anime would probably be put off by dating sim stuff. So i think nice short vn would probably be best that are like a movie in a sense.
  11. No but the mans got good taste. To this day its my favorite anime movie to date. It makes me sad that we will never have anime with that type if quality again.
  12. You know my first exposure to anime was Ninja Scroll when I was like 11 years old. I rented it cause it had a badass cover and thank god I watched that shit in my own room and not with my parents. Full blown sex and guts flying around... I honestly thought Japanese anime was all about violence and sex after watching that. So maybe thats why im crazy enough to suggest Saya no Uta as a first VN lol.
  13. Im glad more famous VN are getting proper releases but man did this series rub me the wrong way. I know Im in minority here, but I did not like a lot of the characters in this VN... especially the main character.
  14. lol perhaps. This is just based on my friends personalities. None of them like anime and would probably feel awkward playing a VN thats setup like a dating sim. It would have to be something short like a movie with a interesting plot.
  15. I really couldn't finish this game and wouldn't recommend this as a starter VN. Might be weird to say this, but it felt too typical. I'll probably seem a little crazy, but if I was going tell recommend a non weeb a VN... I would probably tell him to give Saya no Uta whirl. The story grabs you instantly and it can be finished in one sitting.
  16. Honestly the only route I enjoyed was Kotori. She was the most interested and different from the typical female trope. Shes really the only reason I pushed through, just to see her silly nonchalant attitude.
  17. Ah I guess that makes sense. I would imagine Rance series would sell a lot and it felt kind of foolish not to release them for over a year already. Well heres hoping they get the rights to sell them. I hope they can translate Rance X as soon as it gets release in japan as well.
  18. Thats what happened. Im so late to the news department for translation. That sucks so much >_< I still don't get why does mangagamer not release Rance games? The translators already almost finished many of them, it wouldn't take much effort to get them going, but now its been a year and nothing interesting was released after partnering with Alicesoft. What gives...
  19. I noticed this video was posted recently. Was there a translation patch leak for this game or is this just some fan thing? Or was there a small translation patch released awhile back? The creator hasn't responded to me.
