  1. I'd have to disagree with your prediction if I were going to bet. Sadly for all those pe -- trainophiles out there -- I must concur with your guess. Looking forward to how this plays out.
  2. I couldn't care less about R18 scenes but even I can't sign off on removing existing content from a product to suit regulations. That just betrays the creators' original vision.
  3. Super-late reply but sending my love as fellow Undertale trash.
  4. Hey, another person into speedrunning. What do you run?
  5. Really, I don't see a whole lot of logic behind why Popplio would be part Fighting to begin with. It's supposed to be based on a performance sea lion, isn't it? I don't understand why anyone would assume it'll be yet another part-Fighting starter with a playful design like that. Personally, I'm crossing my fingers for Fairy. A whimsical circus performer à la Mr. Mime. Edit: Reconsidered mentioning partial Flying typing when I realised there are no "bouncing" non-avian flyers as a precedent.
  6. I'm looking forward to Mother 4 as well. But hey, on the bright side, the existing fan translation at least dodges the bullet of Nintendo's censorship tendencies. I was honestly pretty surprised how many differences there are between the Japanese and English Mother 2.
  7. Analysing the series' quality is a dead end IMO. What interests me is their undeniable market success -- why it happened, whether it will continue, and what it says about the EVN consumerbase on whole. To that end, I think @Nosebleed is onto something.
  8. Here's hoping it goes well. I think the idea has potential, but the more you have to show for your early work, the more curious onlookers will become loyal backers. And hey, a voiced demo sounds like a pretty solid hook for a measly 3.2k.
  9. Wishing you guys the best. If you really are just an enthusiastic contractor like you claim, I admire your devotion to the project in going to these lengths to advertise for their sake. Regarding what I see so far, I do like the character designs (image+personality); I'd give it a try if given the opportunity if just to see how they all interact. Voice-acting is something I largely consider an unnecessary luxury for indie VNs (price+effort outweighs the average output), but since you've already gone that far I look forward to seeing how it turns out. However, lacking a playable demo, I can't help but feel as though you guys launched this KS too early. I can speak from my own perspective here, and I believe this is echoed with many potential backers -- just seeing ideas and assets on a screen is not enough to make me feel like I want to invest my money in your success. A demo is essential in showcasing not just what your game looks like and what the premise is, but tying it all together in an accessible format that will give backers faith that their money is going to be used properly. Also, as @Decay pointed out, I don't really see any logic in simply pumping out more expensive tiers as a last resort. That kind of investment simply isn't going to come from potential backers until you've given them a playable demo release through which to grow interested. I'm not saying that can't happen down the line, but short of a miracle, I believe you'll need more of a presentation than this.
  10. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wordless_novel In all technicality, they do exist, or at least have a historical precedent. But I don't think a wordless VN has really anything to offer.
  11. I've never heard of such a thing, although it's conceivable that one could make something akin to what I believe you're describing through Ren'Py or similar engines...in order to distinguish that from a mere slideshow, however, you'd need to include choices and branching. Mere images and voice/music wouldn't be a VN; it'd be a half-assed animation. Even then, I think that another medium would probably be superior for the presentation. One of the things that makes a VN what it is, is the almost seamless presentation of text, imagery and sound (music and/or voice) all at once. All of that said, I can imagine this being kinda neat for a webpage-based story.
  12. Answered it. Best of luck out there; I look forward to seeing what you make.
  13. I got an email from Tenso (which I am apparently still subscribed to) yesterday about this, yeah. As we'd say in Japanese, しょうがないw
  14. Ooh, so that is your composition. I may have misunderstood originally. Well, I think you're doing great. Keep up the good work. Success depends on a lot more things than just OST, of course, but your samples feel "fun" and that already gets me more interested in how your product will turn out to be.
  15. Good stuff. I have a weakness for chiptune music, haha. When you say "the theme" what do you mean, exactly? Title screen BGM, recurring "main theme" of the game, or something else? Sorry, just curious how you intend to implement the songs you've got. Also, who is your composer? Or are these your works?
  16. fite u IRL m8 ill stick my team of shiny lv 100 Arceus on u!!!!!
  17. Just wait. It'll be Fire/Ghost. Ghostcat!! -- Which would be fun for me, because I don't like Chandelure despite how very much I love those two types.
  18. Are you saying the Gen 6 Fire lion and the Gen 7 Fire lion (legendary!!) are already enough for you? Please Arca. Next, you'll be telling me there are too many Bug/Flying Pokémon...or perhaps Fire/Fighting starters.
  19. The way I see it, if I don't like its evolutions, I'll just solo the game with basic Litten. ( `ー´)ノ
  20. No argument there. One of the major sources of entertainment aboard the Hype Train is the speculation phase. Now let's see what kind of evolutions get revealed over the next few months!! Personally, I want to see Popplio surprise everyone and be the coolest-looking of the three.
  21. @Arcadeotic Same amount of years as me, then. ;D I don't disagree with your predictions of what would happen IF they become Grass/Flying, Fire/Dark, and Water/XXXX with mediocre abilities that barely surpass Overgrow/Blaze/Torrent in terms of relevance. I'm just saying that GF still has so much time to surprise us that it's a little pointless to jump to conclusions. And hey, going off of Gen 6 starter HAs...you can't say that they weren't given unique abilities, even if Magician is trash and Bulletproof is "kind of useful sometimes". Personally, I think that they're going to give at least one of them something unexpected. Would anyone have expected Chespin to turn into a giant Man-Chipmunk, or even Fennekin to randomly become a witch? First stage designs only say so much about the final form. Like, if I had my Gen 3 memory wiped and was shown a picture of Torchic, I would never have imagined it would evolve into a horrifyingly OP fighting chicken-man with Speed Boost. It's just way too soon to predict the tides. But I do agree that Rowlet is pretty much screwed outside of a miraculous change in the meta (Grass has been underpowered forever...) or some godsend ability with that typing. Litten and Popplio, on the other hand, are way too open-ended to declare.
  22. @Arcadeotic My complaints about the metagame as an activity aside, yes, I agree -- assuming that all of these very early predictions about the starters' types are accurate down the line, and also assuming that GF doesn't tweak the meta further in Gen 7. Gen 6 set a precedent that they are paying attention and are willing do things like removing resistances from Steel or even dethroning Dragon. Don't forget about Hidden Abilities, either. Do you really think Greninja would be OU, let alone banned, without Protean? For all we know, Nyabii could have Prankster or something.
  23. 2016? Please. The ride never ends. What's "Skyrim"? Some mod about those dirty Nords?
  24. I just can't get into the awful monotony of the tiered meta any more. The only reason I ever bother these days is to show up with a stupid gimmick team and see how many scrubs unsuspecting veterans I can catch off-guard.
