  1. The trails series happens on differents countries in the same world. Sky/Sora happens in Liberl, Zero and Ao in Crossbell, Cold Steel/Sen in Erebonia. The fourth country often mentioned in the series is Calvard and Falcom plan to make the next games in this country.

Making the games on Vita was both a good move and a bad move. The good one was that it made the game more accessible. Also, every Trails games were on a portable console. (Actually, all the Trails game are on Vita, if you count the Evolution versions). The bad one was the restraint it would lead to.

Thinking about it, one thing about the Trails series is how completing every sidequest gives you bonus and changes dialogues in the next game. So if Cold Steel III is on PS4, you wouldn't be able to use your old save. So perharps it will be on Vita and PS3.

  2. There are two reasons for this 'dick move':

First, the graphics. People complained about the graphics, and even Falcom wasn't that satisfied with them, so they decided to upgrade them. You say that even so, you can do pretty good things on Vita? But that's not the only problem.

Secondly, the size of the game. You need to know that in Cold Steel a part of the game was retired because the game was too huge for the Vita. They retired the part in the PS3 version too to not make the Vita players jealous. But now come the problem of the graphics: If the game was already too huge with 'those kind of graphics' (they aren't that bad per se, but it's for the imagery), just how much of the game would they have to cut to release a Vita version?

And that's where come the speculation. It wasn't said it would be PS4 exclusive, it was speculated because of those two problems. What about the PS3? I think it's to no make the Vita players jealous, like for how the cut content wasn't in the PS3 version either.

Also, Zero and Ao were a duology (Crossbell arc). Falcom wants to do the Calvard Arc after Erebonia, so perhaps it will be Trilogy (Liberl), Duology (Crossbell), Trilogy (Erebonia) and then another Duology (Calvard).

  3. If you liked DanganRonpa, you should give it a chance. The first case is easy in each game to introduce the game. At least try the second case to know if you really don't like it.

Personally, Ace Attorney is my favorite series of VNs/Games. No game is my favorite, but the series as a whole is. I love the cases who have awesome turnabouts and the humour of the series.

If you only liked the story of DanganRonpa, you may not like it. But if you liked the trials in DanganRonpa, Ace Attorney is a more complete version with better trials. The main difference being the tone of the story.

That said, the truly awesome cases are mostly the last one of each game, and a few others.

  4. Everything is on the wikia I gave previously. Japanese realeases, NA releases and EU releases. The only exceptions are Tales of the Tempest and Innocence who have a fantranslation, so they are only listed in japanese realeases on the wikia. PS3 version of Vesperia also have a fantranslation, but you need to have your PS3 hacked.

If one day you also want to play Tales of Rebirth, Tales of Hearts (DS version, not the Vita one) or Tales of Destiny Director's Cut, the english scripts of the stories exist. There is an entire guide with everything translated for Vesperia PS3 as well if you can't patch your game.

  5. I'm sorry if it sounded aggressive to you, but it was more of a general opinion than an answer to your post. I should have worded it better.

Personally, I played every Tales of aside from the escort titles (Symphonia 2 not included, I played it), Phantasia, Eternia, Innocence and of course, Berseria. The two I liked the less were Legendia and Destiny 2.

That said, every Tales of is worth playing, or at least trying.

  6. Just finished Trails in the Sky FC, and damn, poor guys who had to wait 5 years after THAT end.

Overall, the game was fine, but I know that if I stopped playing it would be hard to start again. Nothing much happens until midgame, so if I had stopped playing for a few days, I'm almost sure I wouldn't have continued it.

But hey, I played everyday, so no problem. I liked the story, the characters, and how the world was fleshed out. (if you want a review of the game, there are so many on the internet that I don't think my poor opinion could help you)

Anyway, time to sleep, I'll begin SC tomorrow!

  7. It seems that they were kind enough to not do a cliffhanger at the end.

Normally Arc 3 ends like this : (attention, totally spoiler, read only if you want to have a cliffhanger rather than the good end of the anime)

    Spoiler

Subaru notices that nobody remember Rem and finds her in a coma. He kills himself before Emilia to go save Rem, but the save point is after she went into a coma. Thus, arc 3 ends, and the hell that is arc 4 begins.

  8. Decided to stop being stubborn and started to play Sora no Kiseki/Trails in the Sky FC. At first I wanted to wait to have the level in japanese to play the Evolution versions on Vita, but because it won't be before a few years, after thinking a little, I thought I could just play the Evolution versions as second playthhoughs.

The only thing I still don't want to do is play Sen no Kiseki/Trails of Cold Steel before Zero and Ao no Kiseki.

So yeah, in the end waiting would be better to do everything in one go. But I don't know, right now I just want to play Trails in the Sky, so I play it.

Ludger's pretty great, I'll give you that. :D But I still give Yuri the edge.

No, I meant that he is less intersting than Sorey as a character. In the story and all he is good, but as a character, just being Link in a Tales of makes him really boring. :/

I also think Yuri is the best Tales of protagonist. :D

Wow, not my experience at all. I'm loving all of Edna, Rose, Lailah, and Mikleo as characters, but thought Alisha (I remembered how to spell her name now...) was a little boring. Sorey's probably the lest interesting Tales protagonist I recall seeing, but really nobody has ever held a candle to Vesperia's Yuri, who was enough of a character to basically carry the whole game himself. But seriously, I've usually got a manic grin on my face any time either Edna or Rose is speaking. Edna's skits especially usually have me in stitches.

No, nobody can beats Ludger. I mean, the guy is just Link in a Tales of. XD

  11. Not checking correctly if I forgot anything when moving from the appartment where I lived with my roomate, thus losing the 200€ that the said roomate said had never been here.

Yeah, I hate myself as much as my roomate for that one. I really was (and still am) an idiot for forgetting an envelope containing 200€...

God I'm sooo Jelly my dorm wifi will not let me on the digital storefront, so I haven't been able to get a copy.

Ah... Hope you'll be able to get it soon!

I just finished the first case. Being the first case, it was rather 'normal' (Well, typical AA first case, plus the Divination Séance), but damn it was good to have a new case rather than replay what I already played over and over again.

And, I have to say this: THE TEXT IS ADAPTED TO THE 3DS XL SCREEN!!!!!!! Yeah, it's not blurred like in Dual Destinies, it's so better.

  13. Finished Shino's route. It took me time because I had things to do, and, in the end, I wasn't interested enough to read non-stop. It wasn't bad. Aside from the first half where Shino isn't that likeable (well, it can still count as cute for some people), the second half was rather good. I really liked the extensive use of Shino's POV, which is like, half the route. It's interesting to have the girl's POV rather than the MC's. (It's also done in Miyabi's and Tonoko's routes, but not as much) Some good moments and good lines too (particulary one in the first H-scene. In the context, it was one of the best line a girl could ever say to the MC. Really romantic)

In the end, I think I'll stop now. I don't think I'll gain much by doing the other routes. Also, at first, I only wanted to do Takehaya's part, so my objective is done.

EDIT: Finally, after seeing the CGs, I kinda want to read Misaki's route... Guess I'll just set the VN aside for now and come back to it later.

  14. Well, either it follows the novel and ends on a cliffhanger. (yeah, Arc 3 ends en a cliffhanger)

    Either it'll be anime original.

But, the anime will never adapt the Web Novel, so if there has to be a season two, it won't be before a few years so that Arc 4 (at least) is published in LN form. Arc 3 took 7 volumes, so Arc 4 should take at least 10 volumes, I guess? So at least 3 years (With 3-4 volumes/year) before a season 2.

Tonoko?  There was a Tonoko? (goes and looks it up)

Oh, her.  Yeah, I barely remember her now.  Didn't like her, or her route, very much.  Then again, compared to the Miyabi and the others, it'd be hard to make her good.

    Still better than Yuuna, though.

There are so many opinions on the internet. Between those who say that Yuuna is almost as good as Miyabi, and you who say that Tonoko is better than Yuuna. Actually, the only common feature I found in the reviews is that Sumika's route is the worst. I only intended to read Takehaya's part, but it seems that Misaki's route expand on Tsukasa's past, so now I want to read it. And many like Yuuna's route, so I want to at least try it.

I think I will read Shino's route normally (from a review I saw, her POV is often used, and I like that!), and speedread (well, skip lines I don't deem as important) Misaki's and Yuuna's routes.

Also, it seems that once you finished all the routes, an epilogue appear in the Title screen. One for each heroine, or only one for everyone?

  16. So, finally finished Tonoko's route in Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no.
I'm rather disappointed. It wasn't bad, but compared to Miyabi's route, it was really boring. When I read Miyabi's route, I couldn't stop until I was obligated, and I really enjoyed it. But for Tonoko's route, even if it wasn't bad, I just couldn't invest myself in it. Heck, the parts with the aircaft where so boring I skipped quite a number of lines. I didn't really like the way their relationship developed too, but I liked to have Tonoko's POV.
But the biggest minus was: I LOVE LIDA (And Miyabi) TOO MUCH!!! Lida appeared only 4 times in Tonoko's route. T_T (Well, she is only a main character in Miyabi's route :/)

Anyway, that's it. I hope Shino's route will be better.

Bonus: I laughed so much when this happened (NSFW)

  17. Spoiler

I don't know about a confirmation from someone else, but I'm quite sure Zaveid himself says that he was Eizen best friend. If I remember correctly, there is even a skit where Zaveid thinks about Eizen and promise he'll protect Edna in his place. (An inn skit I think)
About Eizen looks, well, he didn't have a charadesign at that time I think. Also, the fact that he is Edna's brother is public knowlegde. I mean, it's not even hidden. So I don't see the problem with showing how he looks in Zestiria.
If you had to call something spoiler in all this, it's the fact that, Zestiria being the future, we already know that Eizen will turn into a dragon and die. (we can kill him in a side quest in Zestiria)
Well, that is if he turns into a dragon in Berseria timeline. Perhaps it happens between the two.

To me, Danganronpa will always be a poor man's Phoenix Wright :P

I don't know. As a series, yeah, I prefer Ace Attorney over DanganRonpa. But as a single game, I like DanganRonpa 2 as much as I like Gyakuten Kenji 2 (AAI2), which is my favorite AA. (even if it's a spin-off)
