NSFW talk

im not going to ask you how you see it, but from which perspective do you see it?

Which perspective? NSFW stuff isn't something that should be hidden or banned as something unnatural, people make it seem like a disease or something, but it's something that you will naturally get involved with, it's no big deal, so i kinda agree with you the only diference is that i'm not as passionate as you when talking about sex.

1) The good stuff, I click on it without a moments hesitation.

2) No, it's not bad. And I shouldn't have to form to suit social norms.

3) Nudity and Pornography? Yes! The rest? Nah. Syria already has enough of that.

4) I'm not going to hand my kids the latest horror/porn flick or something but I wouldn't have a problem if they watched.

5) When I was 7 and I was watching television at my friends house, accidentally stumbled on a porn channel.

6) Yep, it'd be pretty cool. Website creators should stop with all these self-imposing rules. Moralistic bastards.

#1 - It is a porn, and I am not interested in it.

#2 - I am against pronografy, so yes in my opinion it shouldn't exist.

#3 - it should stay where people who don't want to see it won't have to see it.

#4 - I wouldn't allow my kids to be perverts so no I wouldn't allow them to watch porn.

#5 - When I was a kid around 6-7 years my friends found some on the internet and gathered to watch it and called me to.

#6 - No! Fuwa should not be a place for perverts to find their material. Fuwa would lose its purpose if we would allow it.

#7 - I don't consider gore should be labeled as NSFW, so everything above is only for porn NSFW.

how would you go on about if they for some reason decided to show all that sex and violance on tv and streets so that you are forced to adapt to it?

Well, I try my best to not experience or see a lot of violence (it's a little pointless, but I don't particularly want it in my life), and since I'm not very strong in the sense of not letting violence get to me, I'd have a very hard time adapting to it.  If I lived in a pretty violent neighborhood, I'd have a lot of trouble with it, since crappy neighborhoods + anxiety disorders don't mix too well.  I don't think I could live there and stay emotionally healthy.

Sex is a different story for me.  I wouldn't really have a problem if real sex was common on TV or in movies, or even if I regularly saw people having sex in real life.  I'm not particularly prudish, so again, I wouldn't have much of a problem with it.  I don't think sex and violence are equal in the sense of how they can effect people.  Consensual sex between two consenting adults is normal and healthy, while violence has been proven to mentally warp people.  I just have a problem with sex being publicly displayed because nobody should be forced to see something they don't want to see.

You are the total opposite of me, I wouldn't have any problem with gore and violence being considered a normal part of the media, but if it was porn I would hate it and probably stopped watching it.

  • What comes to your mind when you see a NSFW tag?
  • Do you think content like that is "bad" or is the whole hidding "non-public-friendly"  material total BS?
  • Would you like see that on the streets or is it better left hidden in the "dark corners" of the internet?
  • IF you have children would you/do you let them watch NSFW in their early ages?
  • When did you encounter your first NSFW experience?
  • *Do you think Fuwa should be open to NSFW? Why?
  • Anything else you would want to add?

1. Don't click on this if you are around other people

2. I feel that it's a rather personal thing, and you just make the people around you uncomfortable if you're too open about it.

3. The majority of the internet is porn, so they don't necessarily need to go to the "dark corners"

4. They can do whatever they want honestly, it's not something I should care particularly about.

5. I don't even know

6. We kind of host NSFW games... I don't know how I feel about having NSFW pictures flooding the forums though. Fuwa is a place for discussion about VNs and ect. , not a depository of fap material .

7. We play games with pornographic content in them, yet we aren't comfortable with pornographic material. Lol

  • What comes to your mind when you see a NSFW tag? Porn, sometimes gore depending on the context.
  • Do you think content like that is "bad" or is the whole hidding "non-public-friendly"  material total BS? No, I do not think "NSFW" content is inherently bad. It is not, however, accepted by most societies and therefore must be hidden to appease the majority regardless of my thoughts.
  • Would you like see that on the streets or is it better left hidden in the "dark corners" of the internet? It depends. Some "NSFW" content is purposefully repulsive and disgusting for the sake of shocking people. I would obviously not like to see this anywhere. For less offensive gore/nudity? Sure, as long as it's actually relevant in whatever situation it's put in. People should not be offended by the normal human body, nor should they be overly sheltered from reality.
  • IF you have children would you/do you let them watch NSFW in their early ages? Would I personally allow them to view NSFW material? No, if only because that would be illegal lol. Not to mention that, again, society as a whole is not very accepting of this content and I would not want my children to be the odd ones out just to further my own selfish "agenda" against those who are too easily offended.
  • When did you encounter your first NSFW experience? When I was 10 (I believe) I encountered a hentai game on a flash games website. This was before I knew what hentai was, I had simply decided to play it because the anime art looking interesting. IIRC, as soon as I go to an H-scene I freaked out and dropped my laptop.
  • *Do you think Fuwa should be open to NSFW? Why? No, Fuwa should remain "family-friendly" for now. Considering I live with my family, I'd rather not have hentai popping up on my screen when I'm just looking to talk about or download some VNs.
  • Anything else you would want to add? The fact that nudity is considered a taboo in society is ridiculous. Granted, I'm not really in favor of nudism or anything that extreme, but at the same time I really don't think people should be so offended about these simple things.

  • What comes to your mind when you see a NSFW tag? Anything remotely sexual. I've seen everything from girls in bikinis to hardcore porn get tagged with this, so it's kind of a broad spectrum.
  • Do you think content like that is "bad" or is the whole hidding "non-public-friendly"  material total BS? I think it depends on the content in question. There's some porn out there that's so extreme that it has no real place in society, outside of it's small intended audience. That said, I think it's ridiculous how bent out of shape some people get over the slightest hints of sexual content in most situations.
  • Would you like see that on the streets or is it better left hidden in the "dark corners" of the internet? Again, it depends. Do I want to see pictures of brutal rape scenes posted where everyone can see them? No, that's unreasonable for a number of reasons. But in terms of things like nudity (which gets labeled as NSFW even if it's being used in a tasteful context), I think it could- in an ideal world, without so many people who want to "protect the children" from knowing what they'll look like in the future- be a possibility. (I should also add that this isn't necessarily me "wanting to see it"- I just wish people would loosen up about things like these).
  • IF you have children would you/do you let them watch NSFW in their early ages? I don't plan on having children. BUT, if I did, I would take a more neutral stance on it- I wouldn't put them in front of a computer screen while they were young and show them those sorts of things, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stop them from seeing it, either. I know I've been bypassing the "Are you 18?" screens for years, and I don't think I've ended up any worse because of it. My parents taught me not to make stupid decisions, and even after I first saw NSFW content on the internet, it's not like I was scarred for life.
  • When did you encounter your first NSFW experience? I want to say I was about 10 years old. I went on Newgrounds and saw a bunch of anime-style games, ignoring the fact that some were clearly rated for adults. I think I played Simgirls a lot, although that was still tamer than some of the other ones I found.
  • *Do you think Fuwa should be open to NSFW? Why? I don't see any reason to change how it is. I wouldn't CARE if that stuff was here, but I don't think it's necessary, either. If you want to see that stuff, go to the main site and download something.

Well, I guess I'll put in my 2 cents.

  • What comes to your mind when you see a NSFW tag? Porn, or extreme gore
  • Do you think content like that is "bad" or is the whole hidding "non-public-friendly"  material total BS? I think things related to sexuality are overly ostracised, but changing this would require a huge cultural shift
  • Would you like see that on the streets or is it better left hidden in the "dark corners" of the internet? It shouldn't be as hidden from public eyes, but I don't think displaying hardcore porn on billboards would help anyone
  • IF you have children would you/do you let them watch NSFW in their early ages? I'd make sure they get a decent sexual education once they hit puberty, after that as long as they're doing it privately they can have at it
  • When did you encounter your first NSFW experience? When I was like 10, thanks, Google!
  • *Do you think Fuwa should be open to NSFW? Why? No, I don't want the forums I frequent to have a chance of having hardcore porn being displayed since I don't live alone. As for the VNs that are hosted, I think fuwa should stick to story-focused VNs, although I don't really care either way because I mostly prefer to patch VNs myself.

  • 3 weeks later...
  • What comes to your mind when you see a NSFW tag?

I normally attach porn/hentai with that tag.

  • Do you think content like that is "bad" or is the whole hidding "non-public-friendly"  material total BS?

I think that most people enjoy their privacy at home, or somewhere that isn't "work". So "hiding" it from the public shouldn't really be an issue. Although I do think that what is considered "improper" in modern public society is a bit judgmental. If you see a dude looking at a porn magazine while he's walking down the street, people would pass by and think "What a weirdo/creep" and others would agree. I think that's wrong because people should be able to mind their own business.

  • Would you like see that on the streets or is it better left hidden in the "dark corners" of the internet?

My personal opinion? Why WOULD it be out on the streets? Unless you go to the red light district, there's no need to see NSFW stuff outside of your home.

  • IF you have children would you/do you let them watch NSFW in their early ages?

Depending on what one might consider early ages. These days, kids are getting pregnant at 15. I don't support that, however kids who hit puberty at 12-13 ARE going to become sexually curious, so if letting them experience those kinds of visuals at that age is "early" then I would. No earlier than 12-13 or so, however.

  • When did you encounter your first NSFW experience?

Like 8 or 9. Saw some weird ad on the computer for an "XXX Site" and had no idea what it was, so I clicked on it and voila. Found myself immersed in the erotic world.

  • *Do you think Fuwa should be open to NSFW? Why?

It doesn't need to be on the forums. Plenty of VN's have nudity in them, so I don't think Fuwa is 100% NSFW-free, but there seems to be no need for it on the forums.

  • Anything else you would want to add?

Do you think that people who view NSFW material at an early age become more addicted to sexual things later on in life?

  • You say NSFW I say porn.  :D
  • I don't think it's bad in general I mean every young person will experience stuff like this at some point.
  • It's not good to flaunt stuff like that in the open it's better to keep that kinda stuff to yourself and don't trouble anyone else.
  • No I wouldn't allow such things until they became older and more mature about learning stuff like this because I know they will find out eventually, it's unavoidable.
  • No, Fuwa is fine as it is and I want to keep it that way.
  • Sexual urges aren't something to be ashamed of because it's a basic human need and part of growing up into an adult, just as long as you keep that side of you to yourself and don't bother anyone I think it's okay.

what are you talking about? taboo, christianity influence? wake up. we live in 2014. internet is everywhere. nobody cares about something like taboo or religion when you can just open your browser and type sex. even if your family is religious, it dosen't matter.

kids can reach everything so discussion about "will you let your kids watch porn" is pointless. they will find out about sex either way.

teenegers have sex, they jerk off and everything. hell, we were teenegers. going on a party, having sex with a girl, watching porn. it is normal. i live in a country where christianity is kinda important and i can assure you, nobody gives a damn. we were and we are still doing all that things.

what the.... where did you find that? omg.. pls sthap!

Why do I always feel like I have to explain the basic constructs of language and critical thinking to other people. This is like my school all over again...

Well in any case, If no one cares about Christianity in your country then how exactly is it important? If you don't care then that means you are not a christian. There are requirements to being a  christian The bare minimum being that you need faith and belief. "Caring" is the absolute least you need.

What your kids can and cannot do is inconsequential. They CAN if they so choose kill small animals for pleasure. That does not mean that I will allow it in my household. The question is about your mentality as a parent not about how your kids will defy your parenting.

That last sentence hurt. if you are in this forum that means you should be at least a little antiquated with jp culture. They have Vns on anything from tentacle rape to elementary school sex to sex with animals. How are they not full of fetishes as part of their culture? They never discuss sex related topics with each other. Those are slight social tabboos. They are sexually repressed. How is his statement so wrong?

Now for the all important disclaimers.

*I am not a religious person

*If it seems like I am coming off as a little bit of a conceited dick, that is because I am.

*I am not hating simply having a verbal disagreement laced with traces of insult.

I didn't find it on purpose, I accidentally encountered it on the internet. :P

I started finding it on purpose when I was about 12-13.

That's not that out of the ordinary, or at least it wasn't with some people I knew.  I used to have a friend that, when I went to his house, started searching for "playboy" while I was in the room, and I got a good look at the other searches he'd conducted that started with the letter "p".  That was around 5th grade, I think.  To be fair, though, he was extremely perverted, like this-kid-is-gonna-become-a-porn-addict perverted.  Wasn't exactly sorry when he switched schools, he kinda creeped me out.

Most of the guys I know have all insinuated that they've watched porn for a while now.  Kinda happens when adults tell you not to do it.  Kids do the opposite of what their parents tell them to do half the time.  Google Images also makes accidentally finding porn ridiculously easy.  I've come across porn on it while searching for pictures of toast.  TOAST.

now for my actual opinion.

I am totally cool with NSFW material in Fuwa as long as it is hid with a spoiler that says so. Would be really awckward to watch tentacle rape in the middle of school as I check the threads I follow.

I am fine with my kids(when I have them) looking at pretty much anything they want. Whenever they find porn then they can see it. I do not believe in filtering the world for my kid. I am nothing but  simple guide to him. He can make his own decisions about what to believe. I like to think my kid is not an idiot and can handle watching the world unfiltered.

I was 17 when I watched my first um NSFW is it really that surprising.

Don't get my wrong I knew what sex was at around 13 it's not like I was clueless I just didn't watch any NSFW stuff and hadn't discovered VNs at the time.

To think that so many people got ahead of me with finding out about this stuff man I must be really slow.  -_-

I know, that's why it seems weird to me that someone can avoid porn for 17 years.

Don't worry, it's not like we think we're cooler than you because we looked at porn at a earlier age than you did.  I know I'm not bragging about it or anything.  Doesn't really matter that much.

It takes serious skill to not find porn until you're 17.  Dem XXX pop-ups be errywhere.

Wait, so having seen porn earlier than others doesn't automatically make me 20% cooler than everyone else? :o
