  1. I adore the Yu-Gi-Oh and DBZ ones. The Yu-Gi-Oh one is miles better than the anime itself, the DBZ one might actually be too despite how much I like the original.
  2. I'd read the hell out of a Capt route.
  3. Rin was my fav character in the common route, but her route itself was my least favorite. Found it pretty boring. Lilly's was easily my fav, with Hanako's in second due to their similarity.
  4. Recently caught up with Hunter x Hunter after putting it on hold for like 15 weeks. Being able to watch so many in a row is nicer than having to wait a week every time.
  5. It's also interesting to see him being the one on the receiving end of a badass instructor. Plus the fandisk has the far more in depth epilogues for each girl. I don't know why I even bothered getting 100% in Sharin, in hindsight going straight from the main game to the fandisk would have worked just fine.
  6. I don't really mind if a guy is physically weak or even a coward, so long as he has a bit of a silver tongue and doesn't get pushed around by girls in typical anime MC fashion. Bonus points if he calls out tsunderes and other hostile types on their shit. I'm not bothered by graphic stuff either, so I might give it a look.
  7. I've saved sooooo many screenshots while reading Grisaia. It's a recent habit of mine that pops up occasionally when I see something really interesting, but it's like 10 times more common with Grisaia than anything else I've ever read. And even that's taking into account some restraint on my part. Too many good lines.
  8. I've read Sharin, G-Senjou and Grisaia almost in succession. These are the minority, it's gonna be hard to go back to spineless shitheads after 3 pro-active badasses in a row. :/ I'm not a fan of tsunderes, but I'd totally watch Zero no Tsukaima if a pro-active soldier type was the MC. Even the worst tsunderes are tolerable when dealt with in an appropriate manner by someone qualified to handle such nonsense.
  9. Tottenham. I started watching around 2006 and didn't really like the "Big 4" (Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool), so went with another team that caught my eye. Of course since then they've become much more consistent, and form a "Big 6" of sorts with Man City also jumping in. I'm not too big on Man City, but I prefer them to the original Big 4 and enjoy when City beats them.
  10. Slowly working my way through Makina's route. Still in the "funny part", which is nice. Makina and/or Sachi trolling Michiru is one of the best things about Grisaia. EDIT x2: Oh my God, I finally learned where Touka got her "I'll murder you!" line from, and that one-liner, and all of her tsundere phrases xD
  11. Finished Amane's route in Grisaia. Just picked what I felt like at the end and got the good ending, I may go back for the bad one. For now though I think I'll go with Sachi's route. For a while I was confused as I picked "praise Sachi" when it appeared, and was still in the common route. I realized soon after in that save I didn't help Sachi the first time, so I had to go back and do that. I liked Ken a little better overall, but it's hard not to like Houzuki with his badass Wakamoto voice.
  12. I remember that too. I read it some time after the anime, and I recall the VN having far more funny moments. It had more time so showed more of the "day to day school life" moments, many of which were hilarious. Kotomi's route especially was great in that regard. Having a cool troll protagonist like Tomoya helped matters some. It ensured a consistent source of comedy without falling into some of the worst anime tropes, "pervert misunderstandings" and the like. But despite all that, Grisaia might just beat it out for me. The common route is constantly hilarious. It surprised me how well put together it was. I've watched this so many times:
  13. To play recreationally - Soccer/Football To "play" competitively - Cross Country running. Not really a sport per se, but it's the one thing I've done really successfully. Incidentally I'm a slow sprinter, just have good endurance. To watch - Soccer/Football again. Mainly just the English Premier League.
  14. I played both 999/VLR fairly recently. I'd say overall I like 999 slightly better. VLR is far more grandiose so it's not a common opinion, but I just had less issues with it. That said the presentation of VLR is countless times better. Voice acting, better graphics and perhaps most importantly a built in flowchart. Man do I love that flowchart, especially after needing to skip through 999 5 times for all the endings. Anyways both are pretty engaging, above average VNs.
  15. Hoshizora's MC isn't that bad, but he's definitely no Yuuji. Grisaia has far more entertaining heroines overall too.
  16. I'm doing Amane's route first up. Haven't gotten too far into it, will be continuing tonight. Hoshizora's common route goes on for a while. But unlike Grisaia's constantly brilliant common route, Hoshizora's is more just grating than anything imo.
  17. Nichijou Azumanga Daioh Plastic Nee-san Ixion Saga DT Seitokai Yakuindomo Senyuu
  18. All of Nichijou (here's a few): Agreed on both counts. Also Suzu:
  19. Thank God for skip all read text. Though occasionally when entering a different route "read text" doesn't include stuff that happens in multiple routes that you've already seen in another. The epitome of a first world problem, but still, shit sucks man.
  20. So what I can take from all this is I can skip all bad ends but Amane's? I'm not the type to play bad ends for the sake of it, though I understand they can enhance the experience sometimes. Banshee's Last Cry loses everything that makes it good if you somehow manage the good end straight away. 999 loses some of it's intrigue, and VLR outright forces you into the odd bad end to progress. Anyways still reading Grisaia, naturally. That Engrish scene with Makina and Michiru is the best thing ever.
  21. I'm still in the common route of Grisaia. I know shit's gonna go down at some point, so this is very much subject to change, but so far I'm of the opinion Sachi/Amane > Makina/Michiru > Yumiko. Yumiko just gets on my nerves. I'm sure there's some deep reason for her behaviour, wouldn't be the first time, but honestly I don't care. I'm not a fan of defrosting the ice queen, never will be. I look forward to ignoring her. For reference I skipped Aoba's route entirely in Family Project. Come at me bro. Michuru is surprisingly pleasant so far. Fake tsunderes are so much better than the real thing. The self-awareness and jokes at her expense are wonderful. Chirpy/clingy characters deoesn't annoy me as much as it does some others (I tend to be fine with girls so long as they aren't violent/abusive), so Makina is more or less fine by me. Sachi is delightful and Amane is a bro, no problems here (so far). *Disclaimer: These opinions come to you from a position of relative ignorance, pls no pitchforks and fire.
  22. Hanaji is one of the best OP's ever. Good song and crazy awesome vid. As far as the S2 OP (as posted earlier) is concered I prefer Matsurika's version. Kobayashi is still godly though.
