  1. Thanks that helps a lot! And I intend to focus on studying of course, the hardest part will be not to forget hiragana after learning katakana and so on..
  2. A little question : how hard to read are Bullet Butler and especially Chrono Belt? I don't see a translation for any of these two coming soon and given my love for Kuki I really intend to learn kanjis and all that stuff, even if it's will take a lot of time because I start from absolutely nothing (biggest problem I think), I started learning hiragana on real kana some months ago but I stopped and now I realize that I forgot almost everything. I know there are a lot of threads talking about that subject but I see so many differents methods I don't even know which one is the best for a complete beginner. If it's not too much, can I also have a link to a website that cover most of japanese? (kanjis, hiragana, katakana and the basics of japanese grammar) Thanks a bunch ! (and I have a really hard time making the distinction between symbols when the font changes, will I become used to it naturally ? For me it's the same as reading hieroglyphs)
  3. In the case of Kagome she doesn't suffer the consequence of her acts not because of plot armor/convenience but by her own way of life, she doesn't get involved in anything regarding society and thus isn't punished by it, if it wasn't like it with it, Comyu would lose a lot, I mean it. (and to stay in a her social behaviour, it's connected to her values, she wouldn't hesitate to slice a throat if she could gain one minute in anything, if she gets away with it it's natural, who would want to mess with a madman or a serial killer?) And if you want to see strong females characters undergoing some severe (and justified) backlash : read Umineko.
  4. Kagome has nothing to do with Kurugaya apart from the voice acting,
  5. Comyu is the deepest VN on par with Umineko, it has incredibly well done parallels inside the story, enormous amount of interpretations possible and also one of the best cast of characters in its field, a masterpiece that is only clouded by its average translation. Clannad is horrible, the first part with all the routes is worse and longer than muv-luv extra, it has bored me so much that I dropped it at the beggining of After Story. Steins;Gate is incredibly overrated, plotholes everywhere, Okabe is the only interesting character in the whole game, the first part suggests an incredible second one with a lot of ambition when in truth there is only a succession of repetitives story parts that excel absolutely nowhere (despite that I still think it's a ok VN but hey, it's 2nd on vndb..) Fight me
  6. I would kill to read Chrono Belt, if I start to learn japanese someday that would be one of my main reason along with the possibility of re-reading Comyu in his original state, because even with the questionable translation it was a really amazing read. I'm also really interested in Evolimit,Ruitomo,Devils Devel Concept, Hello Lady, Dies Irae and SubaHibi (but translation incoming for this one !)
  7. http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=Subarashiki_Hibi It was at 92% two days ago. It's definitely updated frequently.
  8. Subarashi Hibi translation patch at 94% ! I'm so impatient, it will definitely be the VN that'll bring me back to the media.
  9. Scenario Select, I'm not asking for the moon but I don't see that feature often...unlike h-scenes replay.
  10. Just fap to Gasai's charisma and continue reading, the beginning of Comyu is too scattered but it will get better.
  11. Dammit, Umineko is my favorite VN and you really make me want to read it now. btw I hope the characters are utterly twisted.
  12. Obviously, those are some incredible and unique characters. What did you think of the scene when Live in Despair played ?
  13. Symphonic Rain is a bit boring in the heroines routes but Al Fine and Phorni are total bliss. The thing that disappointed me was that a very occidental atmosphere is introduced but the stories themselves weren't original enough (I'm talking about the usage of the setting), I was expecting something that stands out as much as the first episode of Umineko. But it's a great VN if you're searching for a good all ages, go for it.
  14. Choices in visual novels are most of times completely useless, they're too obvious and are just here as a pretext for side routes to exist. I have nothing against routes in VN but my three favorites are kinetic, the story is often a lot more consistent and I read them much quickly because the scenario isn't splitted and something always keeps me in, that's a really strong point. But conventional VNs are also good in their own way. In short I think that characters-driven VN are far more suited to work with choices, even if they're obvious (Comyu,Rewrite and all the Key stuff for example) but it's the opposite if we're talking about story-driven (07th Expansion stuff, Muv-Luv Alternative....) G-Senjou No Maou has plenty of useless choices for instance and the side routes aren't that good imo, even though I totally loved the VN I definitely think it would have been better in kinetic format. The only good use of choices I've seen so far is in Tsukihime and FSN.
  15. Umineko, Higurashi and Rewrite are my favorites.
  16. Lucia's route in Rewrite for me too, it was my first Key game and a friend told me to read it, I wasn't expecting anything from it, I didn't even know that R07 and Romeo had written something. What a surprise it was...I don't think that I will ever revive a emotional rollercoaster on the same level. Far Side routes from Tsukihime also surprised me, being thrown into such a claustrophobic atmosphere for hours was REALLY disturbing. (in a good way) ( Do I need to mention Amane's route in Grisaia ? )
  17. No escape for me huh ? Of course but it's written differently and you hardly get a chance to read this :
  18. I believe you after all I'm just speaking from my own experience, the h-scenes never really helped to convert anyone to the media in my case... (most of them like animes, that's why their point of view is kind of strange to me) But the application is totally different (I'm not saying that Planescape Torment proposes a sensual approach of sex), what can be disturbing in h-scene is their presentation (the famous Karcher cumshot for example), or even those horrible personality inconsistencies and twists with the characters. Maybe it's just me but in US RPG I never get the impression of sexual content being really "out of place", even if it's clearly shown, because the atmosphere isn't really made to give to the readers the urge to fap. I'm not sure how I can put this, it's more of a feeling than anything, just that VNs emphasize a lot more on sexual content, you can hardly think that it's only trivial , just look at the menus with "Replay scenes" options, I always thought of that as an aberration when the VN in question doesn't even bother to propose a scenario select. As I said I don't care about h-scenes, I either skip or deactivate them because it's a pain to read and I find dubbed moanings too hilarious to take it seriously but I understand that h scenes might be really bothering. (I get the impression that I particularly fucked up my english grammar in this message, be tolerant )
