Hello there, I am someone who exists.  Nice to have you!

LIE'S, zodais existence is not proven hes like the Schrodinger fuwa member. maybe hes alive, maybe hes dead, maybe he isn't in the box at all.

  2. Hi my name is Brandie, I just made a fuwanovel account but I have frequently visited the site for news about new VN's and stuff. One Im really interested in is Subarashiki Hibi for it's interesting plot and characters. My hobbies are anime, manga, games, and playing tennis. I work at walmart and am going to school to become a dental assistant. Also my favorite anime is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, favorite manga is Onanie Master Kurosawa, and my favorite visual novel is G senjou no maou. nice to meet everyone! ^o^

EDIT: also to add I am an american and my race is Native American, I am Cherokee. (most people think im hispanic) :vinty:

welcome to fuwa, im also a american and my mothers side of the family is lumbee tribe.

  3. continental USA traditions:

a large portion of the american diet is traditionally meat followed by starches and veggys. some places its even against the law to talk badly about the beef industry,

Americans like sports but if you look carefully its closer to america just loves competition.

we are a consumer culture Americans buy a lot of goods, and many Americans buy stuff they don't need or even want simply cuzz the price is perceived as a good deal. (after 9-11 the government told people if they wanted to help they should go shopping . im not even making this up google if you think i am.)

america privatizes any thing it can from health care to the prison system cuzz you can make more money that way.

our currency is a fiat currency backed by nothing more then the government's word that its valuable.

america is a melting pot nation made up of populations from all over the world so we steal the culture's of others then twist them to suit our tastes.

america has a history f doing what ever we feel like and saying what we want , individualism is more valued here then the collective.

and we as a nation like to pride ourselves on being scientifically forward thinking but when something comes along to disprove the current theory on things the government and academic body's get scared and try to do what ever they can to do to bury it, forcefully discredit it and pretend that its crackpot conspiracy theory's.

    america is resistant to change.

  4. Sure, you don't have to agree at all, I never said he had to agree, I'm saying if he wants to keep the job he will agree and bite the bullet, he's not having his liberty taken away from him or having his rights violated like I said before, he's merely being reprimended for having some questionable misconduct on the job which is nothing to frown down upon or remotely illegal so he can't really do much about it (and really, why would he? there's literally nothing to gain from it in this case), but if he wanted to he could, it'd just be stupid to do so. He now knows he shouldn't have done and got some scolding, that's all.

no it don't work that way his job is not in jeopardy for disagreeing either with a stance on a issue or with a punishment dictated to him, all he would have to do if he didn't think it fair is talk to his representative and file a claim and then argue it in a closed court. likely in this case he just figured it was easier to take the slap on the wrist rather then drag it out. either way his job wouldn't have been at risk.

  5. I can't really agree with using logical fallacies in arguments, especially when you're contradicting yourself a little.

You're saying it's clear that he didn't have any ill intent and that it wouldn't have led to any problems to let this slide and that by being so conservative on this we're actually damaging society.

By the same kind of logic the person who reported this thought he was ill mannered and could be racist and that it could spread in the workplace and be oppressive to ethnic minorities and that's something they do not want to have going on.

Seems fairly sound either way by the slippery slope logic.

You're just judging from an outsider perspective and they're judging by their own rules and regulations which we have no business in.

We don't know, because this is an isolated thing that shouldn't even have gotten out of the police office, it's clearly just an internal affair and not really meant to represent any issue in society, hence why it's kind of obsolete to try and turn this into a political debate.

I fully agree that people's over sensitiveness has gotten worse lately and it's really depressing to see, especially when some people try to change how society works based on how offended they are at something, but for me this is a case by case thing. This is an internal police affair that doesn't affect any of us or society as a whole and if the police thought the guy had to be reprimended for this, then so be it, he has an inferior rank so his only job is to shut up and accept the punishment.

I'm more worried about schools enforcing toddlers to sign up contracts so they don't use transphobic language.

Now that's the type of conservative mentality you should be worried about.

i don't know how much you understand about the police in the USA but they are not military you can publicly disagree with superior officers and if you are given a punishment or legal charge you don't agree with they have both a legal defense firm just for the police to use against the police, and there are civilian oversight committees for many places in the us for a board of selected citizens to look over police actions and help decide if a crime or charge is accurate.

i repeat they are not military and don't have to bend over and accept what ever your superior officer decide is your punishment and you are not required to agree with there opinions or stances on a issue either.

  6. That is pretty accurate, however that's not to say that exceptions to this don't exist, as I do believe in fairness as well. I agree this being blown out of proportion is dumb, but at the same time if I wanted to send that to my boss who has the ability to fire me at my job, I would make sure I trust them entirely or not do it at all. It's the same reason that companies fire people for shit posting about them on social media sites, which was a discussion we had awhile ago.

this is a lil different since its a police department and not a company. they are held to a higher scrutiny since they are tax funded by the city/state. and since the level of scrutiny is more intense the fact that treating a superior officer as a friend (even if they are friends out of the department) and texting them while they are using a department phone is a much higher level of idiocy then if it was just he manager at some company that isn't held to the standards of a state office.

  7. Well, the fact that he did it on the job and on company property is a little questionable. That's like me saying "fuck" out loud in a restaurant while serving people. You shouldn't do that.

he was not on the job and he was not using department property. the superior he was joking around with was using a department cell phone he was on his day off and using a private cell phone. the problem is either his superior officer ratted him out or some one is monitoring her cell phone and they reported him.

my opinion not that it matters is that he was a idiot for treating his superior as his friend while she was working. chances are he knows its a department phone (i cant imagine he wouldn't know that) so the guy made a poor choice in sending a meme to his superior. i don't believe this warranted media attention, i don't believe this warranted punishment beyond a simple reprimand, and i think this is pretty much just outrage culture showing their ass.

  8. seriously? people are to hyper sensitive.  so apparently just using a meme thats used all over the net constantly hell ive seen it used here plenty of times is enough to start some shit.  what are your guys thoughts on this? did he go to far? was this way to over sensitive of a over reaction?

  9. im mostly looking forward to the Thursday PC gaming show and possibly what EA, UBISOFT and SQUENIX announce. il probably watch the Microsoft event as well in case any info on the new direct x is talked about . but knowing me ill likely watch all that gets streamed or uploaded online.

  10. as the name says it was 4AM and my son wasn't feeling well so he couldn't sleep , so while he was being comforted by my wife i decided to tinker around in my abandoned tech bucket and see what i could do just for shiggles. while searching through all the un-marked wires, connectors, power bricks and random old electronics i found my wife's old LG cellphone and i knew i had a few unused micro SD laying around so i decided to see if the craptacular old junk could be filled with some games as a lil portable game emulator.

i searched around and found out that model only ran apps from java did some google surfing found a site with java based emulators.installed them to the sd, so it wont slow the system as the phones internal memory is potato, and in the end i now have a useless old cellphone with good games.

  11. Right now I'm only playing Tales of Hearts, I have completed most of the interesting games that came out this spring. I'm really looking forward to summer and early autumn though, tons of really interesting games are coming out. Mainly Operation Abyss, Dungeon Travelers 2, Lost Dimension and Ar nosurge Plus. JRPGs are pretty much the only games I can get hyped about anymore.

Also now that the Witcher 3 is coming out, I'm really hoping that it can make me as exited as the previous ones. I'm hearing good stuff about it but the recent incidents in gaming industry have made me super cynical about everything. It can't look at positive reviews anymore and believe that game is actually good. I'm pretty sure that Witcher 3 is going to be good, but distrust all around makes it really hard to get hyped. The overall rotten and dishonest atmosphere in the general gaming community just kills all excitement about everything.

It was nice to be young and innocent and believe that the game you bought was the best thing ever and not care what others thought.

doesn't help when you have the new witcher shown on conan claiming its 1080p when its not. Microsoft, gotta love all that false advertising.

Seeing comments of cynicism and distrust about gaming here makes me really angry (frustrated might be a bit better). Nevertheless, I don't want to start a flame war and to each one his own.

As for myself, I have never stopped gaming ever since I was 3 (currently 19) and my love for gaming has never faltered, nor have I gotten nostalgic. Allow me to elaborate:

There are always good games out there, wherever they may be. You just have to find them. I think that nowadays it's just easier to identify the bad apples and they are everywhere, in all mediums. People complain about directors such as Michael Bay and Co. , singers like Nicky Minaj and Meghan Trainor or Lil' Wayne and Miley Cyrus, modern art that isn't as beautiful as the classics of yore. Is that all there is? No.

Gaming has grown. More players are involved now than when there only big players such as Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, etc... Sure, there are easy formats that have become comodities and bland standards, although that does not mean that great things don't appear anymore. Game companies are geting greedier and caring less about the consumer and just producing cash grab sequels, of course, but we still have great creators and designers going around. Gaming isn't completely worse, you just have to separate the wheat from the chaff, moreso nowadays than ever.

Tired of the modern military shooter? Wolfenstein: The New Order would like to speak to you.

Want a deep, captivating RPG? Pillars of Eternity awaits you.

There are many other examples and I won't go around naming things in which I am not proficient in, since RPGs and FPS are what I play now, mostly.

As for my tastes, I don't think I ever stopped enjoying any types of games, I just began enjoying more genres. I still love Devil May Cry as much as when I was 12, Doom and Serious Sam as much as when I was 10, military shooters as much as when I was 14-15 and MMOs as much as when I was 16-17  (don't play anymore due to lack of friends). There are still many things to be played out there... you just have to find them :)

Sorry for the wall of text and keep enjoying games, in whatever way you prefer!

great attitude to have really, sadly some of us don't have the luxury of looking at that clouds silver lining were to busy trying to bail the water out the boat.
